"Uppity Hypocrites"

Quote

Before Trump left the office he was placed into by Vladimir Putin and racists, people would ask me, “What are you going to do without Trump?”. As if after Trump left office, Republicans would stop being lying terrorist-supporting racist hypocrites. Please.

Yesterday, California Representative Maxine Waters said protesters should take to the streets and “get more confrontational” if they don’t like the verdict from the Derek Chauvin Trial.

Don’t be naive. There is a strong likelihood those who support social justice and civil rights will get a verdict they don’t like. There are six white people on a Minnesota jury deciding if a white cop would be held accountable for murdering an unarmed black man. The defense doesn’t have to convince the jury the cop is innocent. They only to have give one of those white jurors enough doubt to refuse to convict. American cops are prosecuted for murder in less than two percent of fatal shootings.

The judge lashed out at Waters for her comments and warned they could be grounds for an appeal. The judge is worried her comments will affect the trial. Republicans are livid at Waters supposed endorsement of violence. But it’s kinda like when Republicans cry about graffiti in Portland while ignoring MAGAt terrorists in their own hallways. Or, it’s like screaming about Antifa violence while never mentioning there were five black churches burned down during the Trump era. Or, it’s like screaming about Black Lives Matter violence, then white-washing the murder of ten people in a black Charleston, South Carolina church by a neo-Nazi.

Republicans forget when Donald Trump nearly had the trial of Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl thrown out, and definitely delayed the sentencing by his stupid comments. Republicans forget Donald Trump tweeting threats to people who testified against him. They forget Donald Trump punishing people who testified against him. They forget Donald Trump punishing people who looked like people who testified against him. They forget Matt Gaetz engaging in witness tampering and tweeting out threats to Michael Cohen for testifying against Trump.

This morning, I saw a post on social media from a Nazi-loving-Trump-supporting fucknut cartoonist upset over Water’s “violent rhetoric,” and the very first comment from one of his Nazi friends was calling Waters the C-word and wishing he could “punch her in the face.”

Republican House member Lisa McClain complained on the House floor that if Waters were a member of the GOP she would have already been stripped of her committee assignments. I guess she’s looking at what happened with Marjorie Taylor Greene who threatened to kill Speaker Nancy Pelosi, but she’s forgetting a few who have incited violence.

She’s forgetting that Republican House member Louie Gohmert said, days before the Capitol insurrection, that to overturn the election, MAGAts should “go to the streets and be as violent as Antifa.”

She’s forgetting that at a hate rally minutes before Trump terrorists attacked the Capitol, House member Mo Brooks told them to “take names and kick ass.”

She’s forgetting at that same rally, farty Rudy Giuliani told the MAGAt goons they need a “trial by combat.”

She’s forgetting at that same rally, Donald Trump Jr. warned those in Congress who would vote to certify the legal, fair, and free election results, “We’re coming for you, and we’re going to have a good time doing it.”

She’s forgetting that days before the terrorist attack on January 6 and before he got his Twitter account deleted, Donald Trump told his base of Oath Keepers, Proud Boy, and other assorted white nationalists to be in Washington that day to engage in a coup attempt and that it was “going to be wild.”

She’s forgetting that Senator Josh Hawley walked by and lovingly fisted the white nationalist terrorists.

Maxine Waters should not have used the word “confrontational” even though it’s accurate. “Confrontational” doesn’t mean storming a capitol building, breaking windows, engaging in a bloody coup attempt, spraying bear mace into cops’ faces, or beating them with flag poles. A system that refuses to treat black America fairly needs to be confronted. America’s police forces with decades of systemic racism need to be confronted. A nation that has two justice systems based on race needs to be confronted.

For Republicans, Colin Kaepernick kneeling silently during the national anthem to protest racial injustice confrontational. They also thought it was confrontational when Maxine Waters told Jim Jordan to “shut up” during a House hearing after his allotted time had expired yet he continued to be “confrontational” to Dr. Anthony Fauci. So the reason Maxine Waters shouldn’t have said “confrontational” is because it gives the GOP false equivalency talking points. They forget the examples listed above and act like Waters’ comments are the very first time a politician has said something that might encourage violence. Obviously, the rules are different for Republicans and Democrats….just like the rules are different for blacks and whites.

Maybe being upset over Maxine Waters saying “confrontational” but not when a white Gomer says “be as violent as Antifa” is another example of systemic racism.

By the way, Louie Gohmert and Mo Brooks still have their committee assignments. The difference between what they said and Maxine Water’s comments is that minutes after theirs, there was a terrorist attack on our nation’s capitol.

There will be protests if there’s a verdict in the Chauvin trial that’s unacceptable. If there’s violence, that’s not on Maxine Waters. That’s on white America.
