We have more developments in the Matt Gaetz sex-trafficking story. Are you really surprised?

As you know, Matt “Giggity” Gaetz isn’t just a Republican moron occupying a seat in Congress. He’s not just your typical douchey frat-boy sleazebag. He’s a huge Trump sycophant. The only time the word “dignity” and Matt Gaetz have been in a sentence together is this one.

Matt Gaetz defended Trump during the Mueller investigation. He defended Trump during both of his impeachments. He wore a gas mask on the floor of the House after Trump mocked the coronavirus. He flew to Wyoming to campaign against fellow Republican Liz Cheney after she voted to impeach Trump. He even nominated Donald Trump for a Nobel Peace Prize.

If you ever want to not win a Nobel Peace Prize, make sure your nomination is from Matt Gaetz.

Gaetz also kissed Trump’s ass when it came to pardons. He publicly encouraged Trump to pardon his goons like Roger Stone. He said Trump should pardon that Tiger guy, Joe Exotica. He even encouraged Trump to pardon himself. He said those pardons would save them from the “bloodlust” of their political opponents. Now, we’re discovering he privately asked Trump to give him a pre-emptive pardon.

The Justice Department is conducting an “inquiry” into whether or not Matt Gaetz was boinking a 17-year-old, engaging in sex trafficking, and paying for sex. Matt Gaetz has publicly denied ever having sex with a 17-year-old since he was 17, or ever having to pay for sex. But if you have to publicly deny ever paying for sex, you probably paid for sex. And, there are other means of paying for sex than cash transactions. You can trade sex for drugs. It can work like trading a Nobel nomination for a presidential pardon.

It’s not clear if Matt Gaetz knew the Justice Department was eyeballing him when he made the request for a pardon, but why would anyone ask for a pardon? Usually, you ask because you’re under investigation, have been found guilty, or you know you’re guilty. If Matt Gaetz was unaware he was being investigated, then he was asking for a pardon because he knew he doing some corrupt shady shit. When asked what he needed the pardon for, is that where he uses “Yadda, yadda, yadda”?

You know, there was this girl, a state line, some ecstasy, yadda, yadda, yadda, giggity, giggity.

He also asked for pre-emptive pardons for several congressional allies. Golly, I wonder who they might be and why they would need pardons.

A spokesgoon for Matt Gaetz released a statement saying, “Giggity,” I mean, “Entry-level political operatives have conflated a pardon call from Representative Gaetz — where he called for President Trump to pardon ‘everyone from himself, to his administration, to Joe Exotic’ — with these false and increasingly bizarre, partisan allegations against him. Those comments have been on the record for some time, and President Trump even retweeted the congressman, who tweeted them out himself.”

Donald Trump once thanked Gaetz for defending him in a tweet, and for intimidating witnesses on his behalf and said he is a “great talent, young, handsome,” and predicted Gaetz was “going places,” which will probably be prison.

But the thing is, Mr. Spokesgoon, according to The New York Times, four White House officials, and others briefed on the matter, have validated that Matt Gaetz sought a pardon for himself. Matt Gaetz hasn’t denied it yet and if he does, it’ll be as believable as his denial he’s never paid for sex. And from Matt Gaetz’s face, which has Butt-Head looking for a new look, I’d say he’s probably had to pay some blind prostitutes for sex.

A buddy of Matt Gaetz, a Florida tax collector, has been indicted on a bunch of charges, including sex trafficking of a minor. The Justice Department continues to add charges to this goon and many are predicting he’ll sell Gaetz out for time off his sentence. Two of Gaetz’s Florida connections have told The Washington Post that Gaetz bragged to them that he met women through this tax collector. Can you deduct ecstasy?

How hard of a decision is it to send Matt Gaetz to prison so you don’t go? The good news here for Gaetz is: If he goes to prison, he won’t have to pay for sex…though he may be the currency.

Matt Gaetz is a sleaze. We know this. While he was in the Florida legislature, Matt Gaetz was just one of two members of the state house to vote against a porn-revenge bill. The bill aimed at preventing people from sharing sexually explicit photos of their ex-partners online. According to Tom Goodson, a retired Florida legislator, Gaetz believes any sexually explicit photo a lover may give him is his to do with as he pleases. Goodson said from a conversation he had with Gaetz, “He thought that any picture was his to use as he wanted to, as an expression of his rights.”

You gotta fight…for your rights…to share naked photos of your ex girlfriends with other Republican goons.

That probably explains why Matt Gaetz, according to some members of his own party, was showing off naked photos on the House floor of women he claims to have slept with. What’s he going to do next on the House floor, throw a kegger?

Right now, I would like to offer my sympathy to any woman who has ever slept with Matt Gaetz. If you shagged with Gaetz, I am so sorry. We all have regrets. Once, I mistakenly asked for sushi in a hand roll, which is when it’s shaped like a sushi ice cream cone. Never again. Probably not the same thing as sleeping with Gaetz though.

There should be laws against showing off naked photos of women without their permission. Even if it’s not illegal, it’s a sleazy thing to do. Matt Gaetz is a sleaze. He is another reminder of what the Republican Party under Donald Trump has become.

Can we just stop electing people who support pedophiles, terrorists, racists, perverts, Putin, and frat-boy goons like Matt Giggity Gaetz?

No matter what these women are doing in these photos, they have yet to debase themselves to the point that Gaetz, as a Trump sycophant, has debased himself. Matt Gaetz was a sleazy dirtbag and a public humiliation long before the Justice Department started investigating him.

"Georgia's Masters"

Republicans across the nation, not just in Georgia, are upset with businesses protesting against the state’s brand new voter suppression laws. The people who scream about “cancel culture” are all about the Cancel Culture Club when it suits their purposes. The Georgia House in the state legislature actually passed a measure to rescind tax breaks on airline fuel because Delta Airlines voiced objections to the racist law. To punish Coca-Cola, will there be a new sugar tax?

Most of the Republican outrage is being directed at Major League Baseball for the moment. A baker should be allowed to refuse to bake gay wedding cakes and Hobby Lobby should be allowed to force the owner’s fundamentalist religious views on its female employees, but dammit…baseball needs to play ball with racists.

MLB has moved the All-Star game from Atlanta to Denver. Republicans claim Colorado has more restrictive voting laws than Georgia. That is not true. They say liberals, Democrats, and protesting corporations are lying about the new Georgia voting law. That is also not true. Mitch McConnell, who is all for corporate donations and the Supreme Court ruling that they have the right to unlimited donations, now says corporations should stay out of politics.

That’s as hypocritical as saying a Democratic president can’t nominated a Supreme Court justice in an election year, but a Republican president can.

The only reason Republicans want corporations to stay silent is because they disagree with them.

So Georgia has lost the All-Star game, but at least they still have the Masters. Oh, boy. Maybe now would be a good time to re-think that name.

It’s 2021 and they haven’t changed that racist name yet? Even if it’s not about masters of slaves, in Georgia, in the deep south, at a golf club that was famous for not allowing black members….change the fucking name, morons.

Golf in the United States has a long history of racism. So when Republicans brag that they haven’t lost a golf tournament over their brand new voter suppression laws, keep in mind they’re talking about a sport that’s whiter than curling, or polo, or hockey, or NASCAR…if NASCAR was a sport.

The Masters tournament is held annually at the Augusta National Golf Club. Its chairman, Fred Ridley, said, “The right to vote is fundamental in our democratic society. No one should be disadvantaged in exercising that right, and it is critical that all citizens have confidence in the electoral process.” Beyond that, he wouldn’t come down on either side of the law. He rejected issuing an opinion on it. But, looking at his words, he could be on either side.

He said, “No one should be disadvantaged in exercising their right to vote.” They could be against the new racist laws that are designed to discourage voting…and to make voting harder if you’re black. He also said, “It is critical that all citizens have confidence in the electoral process,” which sounds a lot like that bullshit Georgia Governor Brian Kemp has been saying.

Kemp argues that the law expands voting…which is a lie. Republicans across the nation, who have proposed over 250 laws designed to make voting harder for black Americans, claim we have to restore “confidence in the electoral process” after an election without any substantial voter fraud. They’re only changing these laws because they lost. Ridley may be giving credibility to their lying argument.

Golfers Rory McIlroy, Collin Morikawa, and Bryson DeChambeau have each voiced support about the right to vote and the importance for everyone to have easy access…but those points are used fraudulently by Republicans to defend the new racist laws. The only golfer to clearly oppose Georgia’s efforts to restrict voting is Cameron Champ, who said the new law is “shocking” and “frustrating.”

Champ said, “It really targets certain black communities and makes it harder to vote.” I don’t watch golf but I know who I’m rooting for.

The PGA and Augusta National Golf Club need to do more for voting rights. Golf has a racist history. This particular golf club has a racist history. One of the co-founders of the club said, “As long as I’m alive, all the golfers will be white and all the caddies will be black.” For what it’s worth, he’s no longer alive. He died in 1977 and it still took the club until 1990 to invite its first black member. Today, out of about 300 members, maybe nine of them are black. The club still bars women from joining…but you can bring your wife.

When it comes to race issues, Republicans are in a sand trap and they can’t get out. The PGA and Augusta National Golf Club should leave them there…and maybe join this century. Sports and businesses should do more for the society they profit from and live in. If you ignore race issues to avoid being on the wrong side, your silence is putting you on the wrong side.

Augusta needs to come toward the light. They can bring their green jackets.

"Mitch McRacist"

When LeBron James offered a political opinion, racist Fox News talking blonde head, Laura Ingraham, told him to, “Shut up and dribble.” This is a pattern for Republicans. They want you to dance, sing, play sports, and entertain, but if you disagree with them, shut up. LeBron James shouldn’t be weighing in on political matters, but Ted Nugent, James Woods, and Chachi should be consulted by a Republican president (sic). Now, Mitch McConnell is telling corporate America to, “Shut up and write checks.”

Mitch McConnell is a hypocrite. We already knew this. Somewhere down the line, he’ll contradict whatever bullshit he’s saying today. For example; he believes Democratic presidents can’t nominate Supreme Court justices in an election year, but Republican presidents (sic) can. Now, he’s doing a 180 on corporations being involved in politics.

In 2010, the Supreme Court ruled that corporations are people and that they could contribute to political campaigns without limitations. Mitch was giddy with joy. He said, “For too long, some in this country have been deprived of full participation in the political process,” and the decision was “restoring the First Amendment rights of these groups.”

The First Amendment guarantees freedom of speech. Now, Mitch doesn’t want corporations to speak if they disagree with Republican policies. He is now wanting to deprive them of “full participation” in the political process. Mitch especially wants to deprive corporations full participation in the political process when they disagree about Republican efforts to deprive black Americans full participation in the political process.

After Coca-Cola and Delta Airlines voiced objections to Georgia’s new racist anti-voting laws, Mitch said, “My warning to corporate America is to stay out of politics.” Then he said, “I’m not talking about political contributions.” That means, “Shut up and write checks.”

Mitch, you argued for corporations to have “full participation” in the political process. Do you understand what “full participation” means? I kinda think it means they can exercise their First Amendment rights, which you yourself argued for.

When it was revealed that Chick-fil-A was anti gay marriage…and anti-gay everything, and was contributing massive amounts of chicken money to hate groups, Mitch never said they should “stay out of politics.” The guy who is now waffling on corporations “full participation” probably ordered extra waffle fries.

Mitch went after corporations and said, “Most of them contribute to both sides. They have political action committees. That’s fine. It’s legal. It’s appropriate. I support that. I’m talking about taking a position on a highly incendiary issue like this and punishing a community or state because you don’t like a particular law they passed. I just think it’s stupid.”

Would it have been stupid and inappropriate if corporate American had taken a stand for black voters in 1964 during Freedom Summer? Would it have been inappropriate if corporations had pulled out of Mississippi for the state government turning a blind eye on the murders of black Americans and civil rights workers?

Mitch is warning corporations to stay out of it or else. He told reporters earlier this week, “From election law to environmentalism to radical social agendas to the Second Amendment, parts of the private sector keep dabbling in behaving like a woke parallel government. Corporations will invite serious consequences if they become a vehicle for far-left mobs to hijack our country from outside the constitutional order.”

What sort of consequences are you threatening, Mitch? The consequences I see are that the majority of Americans will see Republicans for the racists they are and history will remember it as well. History will remember Mitch and his party for not being “woke.”

From my experience, liberals actually only use “woke” in jest and in humor. I don’t think Republicans actually get that. But in trying to use “woke,” some Republicans are saying the quiet parts out loud.

Republicans in 43 states are proposing hundreds of bills to change voting laws. Mitch and others, like Georgia’s governor, Brian Kemp, claim the laws are expanding voting and all these changes are in response to a lack of integrity and people losing faith in the last election. Bullshit. These laws are in response to the massive turnout and Republicans losing in the last election.

Fact: Georgia went blue, voted for a Democratic president, a Democratic Jewish senator, and a Democratic black senator. Georgia went for three Democrats. Who’s changing the voting laws in response? Republicans. It can’t be more clear for you to see.

If you really wanted to restore voter integrity, then…I don’t know…maybe get rid of the Electoral College so that only the majority of actual voters can elect a president and not a point system that’s a remnant from the slave period of this nation.

Republicans are making it harder for black Americans to vote…and some of them are admitting it.

Michael Watson, a Republican and Secretary of State for Mississippi, you know, that state with a horrible history of how it handled black people voting, said the quiet part out loud this week. Watson said, “Mississippi is doing things the right way under the system we have now.” I’m sure they said the same thing in 1964. He was upset over efforts to register voters.

Watson cried, “Think about all these woke college and university students now who are automatically registered to vote, whether they wanted to or not, again if they didn’t know to opt out then receive a mail-in ballot that they probably didn’t even know was coming because they didn’t know they registered to vote. You’ve got an uninformed citizen who may not be prepared and ready to vote automatically forced on them, ‘hey go make a choice,’ and our country’s going to pay for those choices.”

You mean, our country is going to pay for the choices made by voters? He’s upset there may be more “woke” voters? Who are these “woke” voters? The real funny part is, he’s complaining about “uninformed” people voting while he’s in a party that intentionally misinforms voters. Can we start over who Republicans claim who won the last election? Uninformed much?

Republicans, pay attention: Every eligible person has the right to vote. They have that right even if they’re liberal. They have that right even if they’re conservative. They have that right if they’re “woke.” Even people who are uninformed have as much of a right to vote as those who are informed. Every eligible person has the right to vote, it doesn’t matter if they’re black, white, red, green, purple, yellow, whatever. Klansmen have the right to vote, neo-Nazis have the right to vote, and so do “woke” college students. I don’t see the Mississippi Secretary of State complaining about uninformed Nazis receiving mail-in ballots they didn’t request. What up with that?

From the founding of this nation, conservatives have done everything they can to prevent black people from voting. Now that it’s legal for black people to vote, Republicans are trying to find ways to make it harder for them to vote…when they’re not literally removing them off voter registrations.

Republicans are changing election laws because they can’t win on their policies. What sort of polices? The kind of policies where they want to change election laws because they can’t win on their policies.

These new voting laws are racist. Mitch McConnell and other Republicans keep saying liberals and corporations are lying about these new laws, but we’re not. They’re racist.

If you’re removing drop boxes in black communities, it’s racist. If you make voter IDs more of a requirement then shut down places for black people to get those IDs, it’s racist. If you’re eliminating days to vote, targeting black voters, it’s racist. If you’re taking power away from local election boards in black communities, and giving it to white conservatives, you’re a racist. If you’re making it illegal to hand a black person a bottle of water while they’re in line to vote…it’s FUCKING racist you fucking racist.

If you’re trying to make voting harder in this nation for black voters, you are a racist. If you support those laws, you are a racist. If you are Mitch McConnell, you’re a racist. If you’re a Republican and you’re down with this shit…you’re a racist.

Creative note: My first concept was to use Mitch and name several corporations to show his hypocrisy…but then about 20 other cartoonists did that. I thought of having him in a race car, like NASCAR, then just a driver’s onesie uniform….and then I got the brilliant idea of having him in his turtle shell with sponsors’ stickers all over it. But about 20 cartoonists have done that concept, so I went in a different direction.

He does know that even if they received a mail in ballot they don't have to vote, right? It's not compulsory, sheesh.

Personally I'm in favour of opt out electoral rolls - you don't want to participate in society then the onus is on you to do the paperwork. If not, then as an adult member of society you are on the electoral roll and all efforts to facilitate electoral participation should be made.
