Former members... How long would you say it typically takes for someone to acclimate and really "fit in" with all the RF routines and customs? Is it easier for people to sort of fly under the radar as they've grown? Or are the people who aren't "all in" called out?

I never fit in the church. Probably because I knew better. Something didn’t sit right with me, but I wrote it off as “the devil doesn’t want me to hear the truth”. Also, I wasn’t looking for approval from Gwen or Leadership. I really just wanted to lose weigh.

I think there are a few factors. How old you are, do you live in Brentwood or out of town, and how religious were you previously. Young kids adapt quickly considering they are normally only hanging out with other saints/members.

I remember plenty of teenagers taking a while to fit in if they weren’t previously super religious.

if you lived out of town, you could fly under the radar for a while.

in my experience I remember some people clicking almost right away and other members never really seeming to fit in for over 10 years

The Gwen Shamblin Lara unemployment report: Bad times ahead for farmers, cooks, waiters, food factory workers, etc.

Good thing there are Muslims, Hindus, atheists and others to produce food for Christians.

How would someone fly under the radar in RF, particularly if you live in Brentwood?

It's easy to see if someone lost/is losing weight, but what about all the other rules and regulations, particularly the "being under authority" thing?  How many rules/regs can you ignore or give lip service to before being found out? What are the easiest rules/regs to ignore or skate on?

Are there people who eat normally at home in secret but never in public?  Do they pretend not to see each other at the grocery store?  Are there RF children who go off to college and just not return home, leaving RF because they don't live in Brentwood anymore?

This is to the former RF-ers:  If you were living in Brentwood while in RF, did you move after leaving? Why or why not?

I'm curious about this too. Whenever I eat with our friends/family it's like they serve themselves the teeniest portions, barely eat any of that, and then insist that they're full. It makes me wonder if they're TRULY full, or if it's almost like proving a point because they know we disagree with it all.  Do they actually eat like that at home? Or is it for show in public?

All I know is that Gwen serves herself too much casserole so she can make a show of leaving half of it on the plate and then she is expecting SOMEBODY to eat her leftovers...

A Quick Tip for Family Meals

March 14, 2021

by Gwen Shamblin Lara

What if you are at home and having family dinner, and you are halfway through your serving of casserole when that feeling hits you that you are no longer hungry. Sometimes it will occur to you when you have only a bite or two left. Do not pop those last couple of bites into your mouth. Try this instead…get up and walk away from the table for a few minutes. See if anyone else wants something to drink. This break gives you some time for your “full” to register clearly. It will now be easier to give those leftovers to someone else or to the animals or to discard them.

Pro Ana for Adults:

If you eat regular size meals, you're a greedy pig and should be ashamed of yourself.

If you eat before you faint from low blood sugar, you don't love God.

Pray then like this: 'Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us if we ate it."

Gwen: We're writing down all the positive changes that we've noticed from starving

Also Gwen: The pages of this book are empty.

On of my sources in RF said that Gwen eats a lot! Like a lot of “small meals” a day.

Clearly Gwen hasn’t heard of Prader-Willi Sundrome. People who have that feel starving hungry ALL the time.

Gwen: If you're hungry it's a sign from God that you should eat.

Also Gwen: If you're hungry it doesn't matter, you don't really have to eat. God is just kidding.

She thinks her family doesn't notice if she skips eating and just sips her diet soda. (Gwen, they notice but they don't care anymore.)

I think we are going on at least the 3rd or 4th time on these sermons and we have have been following her. (And I am having a difficult time finding her first thread to figure out how long we have been following her!)

The first thread is from 2017 (in numbered threads, you can usually go back down the memory lane by checking the links in the first post of each thread)

It must be several years since Gwen wrote anything new. I am going to guess that tomorrow's message is about "don't eat if you're sick".

I am going to go out on a limb and say 100% of doctors say eating is the right thing for all humans. I really hope this church cult implodes soon. I have been here to watch Doug "the tool" Phillips and Bill Gothard and Josh Duggar implode (along with many other scandals) I can have hope on this one! Per the NIH anorexia nervosa is the most fatal mental disorder. (2012 article - https://www.nimh.nih.gov/about/directors/thomas-insel/blog/2012/spotlight-on-eating-disorders.shtml#:~:text=What is the most fatal, rate of around 10 percent. )

The most endangered organ from anorexia is the heart. Sadly, I don't think this will implode until Gwen is no longer in charge. (She is only 66 but how long has she has been anorexic? A couple decades?) Others may take over but it will dwindle.

Yes about anorexia and the heart. I’ve read that rapid weight loss is dangerous to women over 60. I’ve often wondered whether that contributed to Carrie Fisher’s death; she “had to” lose weight for the last Star Wars movie she was in.

In a historic manner, when Jesus was traveling he watched the road before him. Be like Jesus and avoid accidents.

Gwen lives on her own time again, in my calendar the Palm Sunday weekend is next week

In this issue of Gwen's Health, nobody has low oxygen saturation.

Gwen has a 3ish hour PowerPoint presentation on why the Jews are wrong about the dates of their own holidays. And how as TRUE Christians, they are obligated to follow the instructions of the Bible to a T. She even goes into great detail about the reasons things were changed over history for political reasons. Spouting half truths to confuse even those religiously literate.

I had a rude awakening in my 10th grade global studies class when I was informed that not only are there religions that predate Christianity, but also that everything I learned about Judaism was wrong. And it wasn’t until I went to a college with a large Jewish population that i found out how messed up Gwens version of history was.

Gwens version of religion is even more bastardized than Mormonism. At least their fairy tales are consistent..

it's Monday March 22, 2021 -- do you know where the next RF wedding is?

Still no upcoming Rf wedding(s) on the calendar. The last wedding was Dec 31, 2020, zero wedding in 2021 so far.

So either they are no longer announcing weddings/recording them in the on-line albums or they've run out of young people to marry off.

Or maybe, just maybe no young people want to get married and chained to RF. One can but hope.

I parachute into the Gwen thread once every couple of months, but damn, I think you've nailed it.  She is a one-woman eating disorder generator.

I love baseball but I'm dreading the new season because the White Sox ownership is THE FUCKING WORST. I watched Dominican League Baseball (Lidom!) over the winter and fell in love with their joy, spirit, and exuberance. The broadcasts were in Spanish and my Spanish is pretty weak but I loved catching phrases and repeating them. Bombe! I'm sad about MLB and Commissioner Idiota's busywork rules. But I love baseball, always and forever.
I guess I don't have a point. Just bitching. Te amo mucho, Lidom!

      Happy International Women's Day!

Humanity may have some work to do, to improve gender equality, but I was glad to hear that France has taken an important step to protect healthcare for women (and people of other genders who can get pregnant).

Feeling ragey this morning. I have a doctor's appointment this afternoon in the hope of getting help for an ongoing injury. I went to a (different!!) doctor late last year who completely blew me off. He wouldn't do diagnostic testin, he refused to send me to a specialist, and he just told me to "take it easy" and "take ibuprofen." I'm hopeful for today's appointment but I'm also feeling a SEVERE amount of rage at that doctor from last year!

Well, the rash is back with a vengeance. It never completely cleared up. I saw the derm yesterday and they did another swab and yup, raging infection again, still? It is definitely strep skin infection. I am getting so damn tired and run down from this. Who the f would immagine being hospitalized freaking TWICE for a rash?

My niece is going to be a seat filler at this year's Academy Awards.  Seat fillers are asked to wear tuxedos regardless of sex/gender.  If you see a pretty young woman with very curly hair, it could be my niece.
