Botkin 2: Geoff Tried to Advise Trump

I think that we finally have substantive proof that Geoff Botkin is supportive of fascism , given the nature of the Black Hundreds  , which were supporters of the Czar . It would have been one thing if he were to speak favorably of the Constitutional Democrats , for instance .  But to knowingly laud the Black Hundreds , and altogether oppose the October Revolution , would place him in the reactionary far-right of the political spectrum .

He has previously gushed over Hungary's fascist Prime Minister, Viktor Orban:

Quote

...Viktor Orbán is a thoughtful, principled Christian statesman. He has successfully and skillfully led his nation out of hard-left socialistic demoralization, and continually shames the globalist elite with unassailable arguments for the rule of law and national sovereignty. Honest historians may regard Orbán as the most broadly influential political leader of the 21st century. Freedom parties from Austria to Sweden imitate Orbán’s proven solutions and policies, and respect him as one of the West’s most inspirational and visionary statesmen....

So, yeah, Geoff Botkin, erstwhile duck biologist, is a major fangirl of fascism.

Yes , that was my first indication that Botkin might be some sort of neo-fascist   .  I remember , when I first saw his approving appraisal of Orban ,  wondering if he might be an apologist for fascism .  I just wasn't sure if this was altogether the case , or if maybe he's simply a political ignoramus .  At the very least , I would conclude that Botkin is , as most post-fascists present themselves , a national conservative .

The neo fascism-Xtian nationalism-QAnon intersection is a trifecta of horribleness.

So he’s gone from “show up at the rally but obey the gun laws” to “don’t go to any more rallies in case you’re provoked into doing something illegal.” And of course the riot was all antifa, and definitely not any Trump supporters.

I almost feel bad for his daughters now. If they haven’t completely swallowed the QAnonsense it must be very hard for them to watch their father get more and more paranoid, especially because he’s their “headship” and “protection.”

Found the Parler account for Lucas, but he doesn't seem to have used it much: https://web.archive.org/web/20210111065831/https://parler.com/profile/LucasTREXARMS/posts

Also ran across Lucas in an episode of the "Empty Brass" podcast from last October. I'm not quite drunk enough to attempt it myself, but if anyone is curious: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/lucas-botki/id1452632702?i=1000495406324

Plus a second Trex Arms episode (from last month) featuring Charles Vernier: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/chad-and-charles-from-trex-arms/id1452632702?i=1000501435832

Charles is of course the brother of Audri Botkin. I was a bit surprised to see him there, I'd sort of had the impression that the Verniers have been distancing themselves from the Botkins somewhat in recent years, even before Ben and Audri left the fold.

Watched Geoff's batshit videos from today & January 2.

Will give him credit for telling his fellow nutwads not to go to DC or other rallies at this time (January 17 - 20). He's angry about the mob who attacked the Capitol being called domestic terrorists but also explains they were probably just a bunch of agents provocateurs from Antifa or paid by George Soros who inveigled the trumpers into committing illegal acts. In the Jan 2 video, he tells the wackadoo brigade not to bring their guns to the Jan 6 rally.

Not surprised at least one Botkin was on Parler.

Jeff Botkin reminds me of a cross between Handmaid’s Tale characters Waterford & Winslow.

Was last around them when I was dragged to David & Nadia’s wedding. That was a strange event if ever there was one.

Just going to remind everyone that we have not vetted the above poster and have no way of knowing if she is the insider she claims.

@AprilCameron, if you would like to vet your insider knowledge of these two families please contact an admin.

Wanted to give a shout out to the FJers @Marmion, @Laura2730, @hoipolloi for providing a nuanced take on Russian history,  Geoff fangirling  V. Orban and his attraction to fascism.  It was all eye opening.

It's not hard to see now how someone who embraces patriarchy would be attracted to fascism/authoritarianism.  I do wonder how, exactly, Geoff was radicalized to QAnon.

Bet homeboy spends a LOT of time online, when he's not directing his daughters' lives or thumping his bible. Really, that's the primary way people acquire these conspiracy theories which are then magnified and reified by wherever they are online, from websites to chats to social media to private groups.

Noticed, though, that his attire in the most recent video has a real "duck biologist" vibe going, what with the ball cap & polartec vest or sweater.

Fascist casual may be de rigueur for fundy faux intellectuals in rural environments. It sets him apart just enough to make clear he doesn't actually work with his hands but appears vaguely outdoorsy.  Points if he's wearing an expensive flannel shirt under the vest.

I remember when tRump was running for President back in 2016, that Ken Alexander mentioned on Lori's blog that he had contacted the campaign and had offered to be the spiritual advisor for tRump.  I had laughed at the thought of Ken being such a religious authority that he could provide guidance to a presidential candidate.  These guys are really arrogant with an inflated sense of importance.

You and me both. I always thought he was too cunning to fall for something like that. I bet he doesn’t hold to the more extreme, baby-eating line of Q thought, but he’s definitely wading in.

interestingly, Q tends towards very Pentecostal and charismatic schools of thought, which a good Calvinist like Geoff would never endorse. On the other hand, he holds to postmodernism, which teaches that the world will go through a massive upheaval which will ultimately leave the church in charge of everything. And that lines up very closely with Q, especially, I think, since this great upheaval was supposed to happen on the 6th. I’m curious how he balances the two.

She obviously didn't take the "Reclaiming Beauty" course, or she would know that putting her legs into two separate sleeves of cloth telegraphs that she's a ho.   I wonder if the sisters will send her that course for free.  ?

Probably something horrible, like the confederate flag, or Trump 2020.

Well he was caught up in McCotter's GCC waaaay back.

I think you mean postmillenialism, not postmodernism.

If ladies wearing pants is bad, I wonder what the Botkin sisters think of their brother's girlfriend. I remember reading the Botkin sisters and they were angry that girls would dare to approach their brothers and talk to them when clearly said girls weren't good enough.  Actually I went looking for proof and found it here.

Are the Botkins also against dyed hair?
