Smartmatic, an election technology company, filed the suit in New York State Supreme Court on Thursday against the Fox Corporation, Fox News and the anchors Lou Dobbs, Maria Bartiromo and Jeanine Pirro. As part of the same action, the company is suing Rudolph W. Giuliani and Sidney Powell, who made the case for election fraud as guests on Fox programs while representing President Donald J. Trump.

In its 276-page complaint, Smartmatic argues that Mr. Giuliani and Ms. Powell “created a story about Smartmatic” and that “Fox joined the conspiracy to defame and disparage Smartmatic and its election technology and software.”

Smartmatic is seeking damages of “no less than $2.7 billion,” the complaint says, and is requesting a jury trial. Its move against Fox follows two lawsuits filed last month by Dominion Voting Systems: one against Mr. Giuliani, the other against Ms. Powell. Dominion is another company named by conspiracy theorists claiming election fraud.

I’ve been a little obsessed with reading through the Dominion and Smartmatic complaints.  I’m looking forward to reading the responses, plus speculating who might be sued next.  The complaints are very well laid out, despite the length and the necessary repetition of some claims.  I wish the plaintiffs good fortune.  
 

ETA - The Lou Dobbs show was apparently just canceled.  Hmmm.

Erma Gerd, this is a HUGE deal.  Lou Dobbs' 5 pm slot was the most popular show on Fox, and suddenly pfffft! Lou Dobbs Tonight is no more after tonight's broadcast. 

Fox has noted he won't be on any of their other shows, so he's been officially disappeared.  Really, this just makes my day.

It is all about the Benjamins. All the times Louie Louie has spread hate and lies the Spox powers that be were perfectly fine to let him spread the bile. Once he became a financial liability ?

Fat lot of good it will do Fox by only terminating Dobbs after they get sued.

It’s not like that lawsuit will suddenly go poof just be cause Dobbs did...
