There’s a blogging family in the UK with two sets of twins. Boys called Balthazar Octavian Percival and Lysander Edmund Odysseus, and girls called Embla Felicity Minerva and Olympia Leto Beatrix. I’m not sure they’re the *most* pretentious names ever, but I do think Collingsworth and Wellington would need a couple of middle names to beat them.

Wow, that is... something...

There are soooo many names listed there that I love on their own, and yet my insides shudder at how pretentious they are crammed together...

I agree.

Edmund Percival, Lysander Octavian, Felicity Minerva, and Beatrix Olympia would be much better in my opinion.

So Hannah Manderino had baby #1 in July 2018, baby #2 in January 2020 (18 month gap) and baby #3 in April 2021 (15 month gap). I’m betting she’ll be pregnant again by the end of the year. She’s currently got 3 under 3. I can’t even. I’d go insane.

Of course. She has to prove to everyone how radically feminine she is.

It always suprises me, that I am still surprised by how common this seems to be amongst the fundies. Kendra (Caldwell) Duggar had her first 9 months after she got married on June 8th 2018, then another on November 2nd 2019 (17 month gap) and third Febuary 19 2021 (15 month gap). And she is still only 22. Tori Bates is also similar. 11 months after the wedding had her first on November 9th 2018, second on March 25 2020 (16 month gap) and third due in June this year (15 month gap). At least she is a tad older at 26.

I'm sure there are plenty of other examples, these were just the first two that came to mind.

Many fundies had their first three in close succession. A lot of the Mortons have, Jill Rod did, kelly Bates did as well.

Hannah Manderino was a little older when she got married, she was 25/26 I believe. Still pretty young, but not the 18/19 that sister Abigail was.

I've known a few non-fundies have 3 or 4 kids back to back (and then no more). I have a family member who had three kids under 3. She had her first October 1958, her second November 1959 and her third February 1961. She wanted her kids close in age. However, for people who don't use any form of birth control and who are told they have no other value or purpose in life except to have child after child, then having 3 kids under 3 makes me cringe. I worry about their physical and mental well-being as well as the well-being of their large brood of children.

My parents started out using no birth control and followed this exact pattern. First was a honeymoon baby (born a few weeks early 8 months after the wedding), then a 13-month gap, then a 15 month gap. 3 babies in diapers with the oldest just over 2 years old.

After that, they reevaluated their standards and conveniently decided that God was OK with some forms of natural family planning. There's a 3-year gap before #4, and a comfortable 2-3 year gap between the rest of us kids (8 in total).

I have a feeling many fundie couples start out with good intentions of letting the Lord choose their family size, until they fully realize how hard it is for very fertile people. Alyssa Bates waited almost 3 years before having her 4th (granted she also had health issues) and I can see Tori doing the same. The Duggars are a toss-up - I'm curious to know if Kendra will space out her fourth as well.

I agree. I think there are probably some fundie families that used NFP when times were tough in their lives and then told no one.

Courtney Rogers just posted they've been using NFP since they have to wait after everything with Caris so I wouldn't be surprised if that was the case either.

The one that really gets me is Katelyn (Ehlinger) Wahlquist. Married at 17, and 5 kids at 23. Just 11 months between #1 and #2.

@ToriAmos I keep shecking back to see if she's pregnant again yet. She hasn't updated her blog in a bit, so maybe we'll be getting an announcement soon.

How is Caris doing? For unknown reasons I'm blocked from her IG and can't check on them anymore.

The most recent update for her I could find was a reply from a couple months ago saying so far she's on track with her milestones except maybe rolling over.

I think she just replied to a comment yesterday on her stories. She said the doctor said she’s on track with other 4 month olds.

I love baseball but I'm dreading the new season because the White Sox ownership is THE FUCKING WORST. I watched Dominican League Baseball (Lidom!) over the winter and fell in love with their joy, spirit, and exuberance. The broadcasts were in Spanish and my Spanish is pretty weak but I loved catching phrases and repeating them. Bombe! I'm sad about MLB and Commissioner Idiota's busywork rules. But I love baseball, always and forever.
I guess I don't have a point. Just bitching. Te amo mucho, Lidom!

      Happy International Women's Day!

Humanity may have some work to do, to improve gender equality, but I was glad to hear that France has taken an important step to protect healthcare for women (and people of other genders who can get pregnant).

Feeling ragey this morning. I have a doctor's appointment this afternoon in the hope of getting help for an ongoing injury. I went to a (different!!) doctor late last year who completely blew me off. He wouldn't do diagnostic testin, he refused to send me to a specialist, and he just told me to "take it easy" and "take ibuprofen." I'm hopeful for today's appointment but I'm also feeling a SEVERE amount of rage at that doctor from last year!

Well, the rash is back with a vengeance. It never completely cleared up. I saw the derm yesterday and they did another swab and yup, raging infection again, still? It is definitely strep skin infection. I am getting so damn tired and run down from this. Who the f would immagine being hospitalized freaking TWICE for a rash?

My niece is going to be a seat filler at this year's Academy Awards.  Seat fillers are asked to wear tuxedos regardless of sex/gender.  If you see a pretty young woman with very curly hair, it could be my niece.

It’s not supposed to be mosquito season right now but I still appear to have been bitten twice on the side of my foot. Bastards. I know I shouldn’t scratch but it’s so tempting… 😑
