Suggestions have been made elsewhere that the wedding venue was The Orchard, Azle. It looks a beautiful place for a wedding and quite a bit above the usual Duggar carpark.Wonder who officiated, a

I expect John will have flown them there. He’s a pilot apparently but doesn’t like to mention it.

Is it BEC to want to smack that fucking sign down???? He is getting his wisdom teeth out not getting fucking his Siamese twin fucking removed!!!!! Save that shit for life and death ya fucking dingbats

If they want to get married soon, then yes. If they get married without TLC filming it, I think it increases the chances he moves to Texas.

Given that he's already joined David Waller's church, I think it's a safe bet that he's already living in Texas.

You have a point. I mean, can you imagine the amount of attention the wedding would bring if this was filmed and edited exclusively by various Duggar YouTube channels? I’m not sure how much money YouTube would bring in (as opposed to a TLC show/special), but I think that they’re at a point where they could get by with YouTube and a dedicated audience instead of the “traditional” TLC route.

The problem with the non TLC wedding is that the Duggars are lazy and cheap.

All the things that TLC set up like wedding dress shopping would have to be replicated to attract interest. Plus they’d need some skill in filming and editing and if Jessa’s superspreader fall party is anyth8ng to go by, they don’t have it.

There’d be lots of footage of Duggar pranks and general idiocy and Jana doing the decorations. TLC content may seem boring but I think a lot of turd polishing has to take place to make watchable.

They may also be contractually obligated to have the wedding filmed. I think the fact that they told people to "follow their story by watching Counting On" in their TLC proposal announcement video guarantees that the wedding will be on the show.

I think he's been living in Texas for quite a while now.

And about filming the wedding: Do y'all seriously think that Ma Spivey would let her daughter marry into the Duggar family without being on TV? Of course not.

Yeah, I think the fact that he joined the church on his 18th birthday confirms he’s been going there for a while. One doesn’t normally join a church in a whim or simply because it’s his gf’s church.

Wonder if the Spiveys had anything to do with TFDW’s hiring? I’m sure they at least told him about the job opportunity...

I hope they do. I've been waiting for a Duggar to do that ever since we found out the further truth about Jill and Derick.

If they hold a superspreader event then I think, rightly, TLC would be wary of showing it given the current surge in cases. However if they try and pretend it’s a ‘quarantine’ wedding then I hope they get pushback for being hypocrites - they’ve had an engagement party, an election night get together, numerous family nights, been to a family camp,  the Fall festival and travelled to LA with Michelle going into a hospital unnecessarily - and that’s just the stuff they’ve put online . Feigning concern and hardship for the pandemic when they haven’t modified their behaviour at all would be fakery too far even for these masters of fake.

But if he had been living there for some time it is only natural to go to church with them? Maybe I am naive, because I know it’s different in the US and definitely in their circles but my head bursts to even imagine “joining a church” is something more delicate than just look up the nearest one that fits your confession.

I suspect two ceremonies. One small one outside for tv and afterwards a big one in church. Or the other way around.

Vogue got called out recently for featuring a wedding on Martha's Vineyard that turned into a superspreader event. Vogue pulled the article, but not before the Vineyard Gazette wrote an excellent critique of both the wedding and the Vogue feature. The NYT has also been criticized for their Vows column focusing on weddings that don't adhere to best epidemiological practices or local government restrictions. I would hope that TLC learns from Vogue's example, but who knows? Certainly the Duggers won't care.

Well TLC called the last episode ‘A quarantine courtship’ so they were trying to portray the Duggars as modifying their behaviour but we know from their social media they don’t.

The Islands (Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket) went from no COVID-19 cases to superspreader red zones in a matter of months over the summer.  When asked about the quick jump, a Nantucket official blamed out of town tourists, particularly from Texas and Florida (red zone states at the time), but in the same breath said "Well, we can't turn them away".  I read this in the Nantucket Inquirer and Mirror, the daily newspaper.

As a MA resident who was understandably forced to cancel three well-planned vacations/day trips, and who was so looking forward to at least a little respite of a summer day trip to one of The Islands,  ultimately choosing not to go in the name of safety, I say to the official: "Uh...yes you can".  The ferries could have banned non- Massachusetts residents from boarding and demanded to see IDs confirming residency.  Ditto with airports-MA residents only.  Only MA day trippers allowed.  The Islands could have heavily marketed to this subset group of people, myself included,  who were simply looking for a little day getaway to break up the summer and who knows, could have recouped some lost revenue in the process.

But we all know why this would have never happened.  At the end of the day, it's instant, guaranteed tourist dollars over people's lives.  Priorities.

I struggle with this. Living in Central FL and being in the minority that actually care about Covid, I obviously see the theme parks (and other tourism related industries) as non-essential. However, to keep them shut would be to un-employ/furlough tens if not hundreds of thousands of employees who rely on their jobs for their livelihoods. The food bank lines around here are insane, unfortunately, and that's with the parks open. FL unemployment is one of the worst in the country, giving a max of $275/week.

To be honest though with what I've seen, the theme parks are the safest place to be around here. Masks are not enforced in local grocery stores, gas stations, restaurants (there are signs posted, but people ignore and I haven't seen employees at any of these places talk to customers about them). However, WDW/Universal are very strict about the rules they've set in place to minimize risk.

It's funny you mention the FL theme parks as the safest places.  A local MA DJ who is a Disney superfan took his yearly WDW trip with his daughter this past summer.  He said he never felt safer anywhere than in WDW, and had nothing but praise for the parks' proactiveness and safety measures.

It really is a double-edged sword when it comes to tourism's role in the economy and keeping people safe from COVID.

I did actually get married this summer. We postponed in spring (everything was closed here) and finally got married in September when cases were very low here. We did had to cut the guestlist down from 130 to 40 guests and we cancelled the dance party.
Everyone stayed seated and kept 1,5m distance but still we were very relieved when it turned out no one got infected.

I feel the same way about my gym...they have excellent procedures in place, and are fanatical about sanitizing. I feel much safer there than I do at the grocery store or other “essential” business.

Its always interesting to me how differently we've all experienced this pandemic. I live in Victoria, Australia. We had a second wave that peaked at 700 new cases a day and we had a total lockdown for 112 days. During that time I wasn't allowed more than 5 kilometres (3 miles) from my home, was only allowed to leave the home for one of 4 reasons (1 hour of exercise a day, 1 adult shopping for essential items, seeking medical attention or being an essential worker). You had to have a permit to travel beyond your 5km radius. Absolutely no visitors whatsoever. And throughout all this, all the other states had their borders closed to us (and for the most part, each other). We are now at one month without any new cases (and no active cases at all) and some of the borders are still closed to us!

I always thought the US were even more militant about states rights than we are here, but I guess not.

I would've starved to death; there's no grocery store within 3 miles of my house 😆

Although there is a cattle field at the end of my street, so I guess if we got hungry enough, we could figure out how to get some beef.

Went up to the Iron Range of Minnesota last weekend to talk to guy about a job.  I ❤️ the area and hope to get said job up there.  Course got to pass the bar first but I'm really taken with the area.  And it's not an area that overall treats fuck face as the second coming or some goddamn thing.

Happy Shavuot to all those who celebrate! I have no idea why, but for some reason God commands us to eat ice cream. Well, dairy. So eat cheese! Eat pizza! Eat ice cream! Eat cheesecake! It has no calories because God commands us to do so!

I know it’s just a beauty contest but this is the 4th time Jamaica was snubbed in favour of 5 contestants who were clones (with the exception of Peru)
Still can’t believe Mexico won. Even Olivia Culpo was looking at the results confused😂
Shoutout to Haiti, Canada, Thailand and Myanmar who were also snubbed.

I've somehow invested in this year's Miss Universe pageant. After watching the prelims my favorites are:
      1. Jamaica (naturally lol but she's doing well)
      2. Haiti (love her energy)
      3. Great Britain
      4. Bahamas
      5. Canada (a beauty! absolutely stunning!)
      6. Japan (adorable)
      7. Cameroon (also adorable w/ an amazing costume)
      8. Myanmar (seems sweet)
      9. Vietnam
      10. Thailand
      11. USA (I'm rooting for everybody black lol)
Not a fan of these but I think they'll place: South Africa, Mexico, Columbia, Venezuela, Puerto Rico, Peru, Australia, Denmark, Ireland, Dom Rep.
If they make Zozi (the current Ms. Universe) give the crown to a white girl from Pretoria, I will scream.
