One of the UKs most notorious prisoners Peter Sutcliffe has died aged 74 in hospital. He had tested positive for Covid last week and refused any treatment for it.

From 1975 to his capture in 1980 he murdered 13 women and teenage girls and attacked at least 8 more in the Yorkshire and Greater Manchester area. His conviction and the revelation that he had been stopped and questioned multiple times during the investigation but the methods used to keep records at the time failed to pick on this, helped changed the system used in the UK. Yorkshire police have also apologised to the victims families for treating the ones they deemed less innocent differently than other victims.

Richard McCann, the son of the first victim Wilma McCann has stated in an interview while he isn't rejoicing at his death, he actually called Sutcliffe's brother to offer his condolences to him, he is hoping that the media attention will die down and that him and the families of the other victims will get some closure.
