I got all excited for a hot second, but they just had one recommendation??? There are so many cool study resources out there, at least post about four or five. For example, my sister loves a good erasable highlighter (we grew up fundie and used them for Bible Bee study, so super Maxwell-approved).

But do they sell those on Amazon, where an affiliate link (click here for our privacy policy) would be beneficial to them, or just in ordinary Christian bookstores where the Maxes won't get a cut if you go buy some as a result of the post?

That what I thought.

There was an FAQ with 1-ton ramp and one of the questions was "is there a payment plan/installment plan" or something of that nature. Their response? "Yes, there is. You can pay your credit card off in installments,"

They absolutely accept and use them.

I think they even mentioned a family who didn’t own their house outright on the blog once... this family were using the principles of being debt-free anyway, or something. The Maxwell sons did have it pretty easy, living in such a cheap housing area anyway.

Just when you think they can't come up with a duller post they go and profile Bible highlighters. Wow. Be still my heart.

No post on how to take the wrapper off the turkey the Maxwell way.

No photos of crews being precious.

No new vests or coffee cups.

Bible highlighters.

Probably delayed for Thanksgiving. I think they generally post on the Holiday itself.

They will do a Thanksgiving post tomorrow. So, no Wednesday post because the schedule says 3 posts per week, max. Fewer if they need the book - or whatever they're shilling at the time - to stay on the main page longer.

They will skip Friday too because a Thursday post upsets the schedule to such a degree that posting two days in a row will just shatter the schedule entirely and they'd be floating in the abyss of a schedule-less world!

It's sad that this is entirely the truth.

I don't care about any of this as long as I find out how to cut up my lettuce with a pizza cutter. You cannot imagine how many heads of lettuce I've had to watch decompose into a fetid sludge in my crisper drawer, all because Teri refuses to tell me how to break them down into units that will fit in my mouth.

Isn't that kind of a dick response? I'm not particularly sensitive but if someone responded to me like that.....i'd be like wtf?

Yeah, it's definitely rude as hell. I'd cancel my order if he said that to me, and I'd tell him why. I'd kind of enjoy that, actually. ?

That’s TOTALLY a dick response!

You go ahead and bury yourself in credit card debt from buying our stuff on ‘time’ and our sons will take their shares of your purchase money and buy their homes debt-free. Suckers!”

They've done this in response to other questions on their blog, too.  On at least one occasion, their response to a reader's question was to google it.

And this is from the folks who brought us the page-turner known as Making Great Conversationalists!

The ever predictable Thanksgiving post has arrived.

And included, as always, is a family picture - with what I'm sure they'd typically say are the remaining "immediate" Maxwell family members (since they still don't understand immediate vs extended family)

And included, as always, the picture is labeled - in case their few remaining readers have gotten bored and can't remember who is who of the remaining 5 by this point or something ridiculous like that, I suppose...

I don't know why the ridiculous naming everyone in each photo drives me nuts, but I guess it's just because it feels so tedious. Which then I imagine is fitting, since they are that for sure!

Yeah, the labelling of the photo is ridiculous! Seriously, we know who you are, Maxwells.

It's kind of not what I'd expected - not a lot of "thankful for"s and nothing from any individuals. I guess I was looking for something like those breathy baby-voiced videos from a few years back. I can't hate them for not gushing on the gratitude, though - they've had a rough year. Two sons left the compound, a daughter-in-law is fighting for her life, the mothership had to put in some serious labor to keep Christopher's family afloat during Anna's treatment. Covid has been hard on everybody, and I would imagine, even harder on families like the Maxes that are used to having the whole crew extended family everybody over for bean burritos every single Sunday, since Anna and her family have to be really cautious for the sake of her health right now, and Joe and Jesse are far enough away not to count as any sort of "quarantine pod" anymore.

From the comments:

"This is Gigi’s favorite meal of the year. She and Christopher’s family will be here today, unless someone wakes up sick, but as of last night everyone was well. Most of the sons are out of state with their wives’ families. Nathan and Melanie have a lady from church joining them."

Doesn't sound like much quarantining is going on...

There was one that was worse. IIRC, someone asked about a payment plan. Someone, probably Steve, wrote back, yes, we have a payment plan. Get an envelope, and put however much money you can afford to pay per month in that envelope. When you have (whatever the amount was) in that envelope, sign up for the course.

What. The. Hell.

How can these people just throw caution and sense to the wind like that? Are they going to socially isolate for 2 weeks after thanksgiving?

We're going back to "shelter in place." My mom, who i think is 70 or 71, is spending her holidays alone because my cousin who lives literally next door (and they share expenses and childcare/pet care) refuses to limit their socialization. I cant' go to her and she can't come here without one of us getting on a plane. And then you have the Maxwells who are just like "hey, look at how we highlight our bibles."

Eh, I'll take it. It's certainly a much better than the endless blather the year Reversal Anna posted she was thankful Jesus paid her sin debt for her even though she knew she deserved hell. ?

Honestly, how is Anna able to sin so much, that she believes she deserves hell? I mean she isn't able to do anything besides preying, studying the bible, doing chores, working for her brothers' businesses, helping with her nieces and nephews... She doesn't even have the opportunity to sin.

And their lists are really boring - only the small children are a little bit of creative with their thanks....

Oh, I found it interesting enough. Steve is thankful for women who have babies. Sarah, the family writer, has a list similar to the little kids. Joseph & John went political.

I'm the 72-year old who's just fine with the kids not remembering how old I am!

I love baseball but I'm dreading the new season because the White Sox ownership is THE FUCKING WORST. I watched Dominican League Baseball (Lidom!) over the winter and fell in love with their joy, spirit, and exuberance. The broadcasts were in Spanish and my Spanish is pretty weak but I loved catching phrases and repeating them. Bombe! I'm sad about MLB and Commissioner Idiota's busywork rules. But I love baseball, always and forever.
I guess I don't have a point. Just bitching. Te amo mucho, Lidom!

      Happy International Women's Day!

Humanity may have some work to do, to improve gender equality, but I was glad to hear that France has taken an important step to protect healthcare for women (and people of other genders who can get pregnant).

Feeling ragey this morning. I have a doctor's appointment this afternoon in the hope of getting help for an ongoing injury. I went to a (different!!) doctor late last year who completely blew me off. He wouldn't do diagnostic testin, he refused to send me to a specialist, and he just told me to "take it easy" and "take ibuprofen." I'm hopeful for today's appointment but I'm also feeling a SEVERE amount of rage at that doctor from last year!

Well, the rash is back with a vengeance. It never completely cleared up. I saw the derm yesterday and they did another swab and yup, raging infection again, still? It is definitely strep skin infection. I am getting so damn tired and run down from this. Who the f would immagine being hospitalized freaking TWICE for a rash?

My niece is going to be a seat filler at this year's Academy Awards.  Seat fillers are asked to wear tuxedos regardless of sex/gender.  If you see a pretty young woman with very curly hair, it could be my niece.
