I am so sorry that happened to you.  I used the word because for me 5 victims over a span of time is serial.  He is a serial predator even if he hasn't done anything sexually illegal since.

guess it's just semantics and I'm not sure how to express it. I do think he probably has a warped view of sexuality (duh? I say to myself). This is from my very limited knowledge gleaned from a family friend who's a captain in the NM State prison system but my understanding it's going to depend very heavily on what facility he's being housed in and who does his intake. Some jails (he won't be in prison unless he gets convicted and sentenced) will seperate out both known child molesters and high profile cases, some will do one or the other and a some do not have enough room to seperate either or don't because they feel it makes those inmates more of a target. Even federally there's not really one standard that will be followed.

So how does this, if it does at all, affect the standing of the Duggars as fundie royalty, and specifically the marriage prospects of the unmarried children, especially the lost girls?
In my admittedly anecdotal knowledge of cultures where marriages are arranged, or at least parentally approved, the reputation of the family is of major importance.Don't cause a scandal because it will hurt the prospects of your siblings.
Or will this just be used as an example of persecution that they can all circle the wagons around? I'm fascinated by this culture but still don't understand it.

That is the impression I (sadly) get from movies, docos and tv shows about the prison system. It is so opposite to what I am used to. If an offender that was deemed at risk was not placed on protection and was injured as a result, heads would roll.

Honestly, I’m enjoying this particular path of speculation because it feels like one of the best-case scenarios. Financial crimes hopefully means no children were harmed and it would give me so much joy to see Josh punished for his crimes while also taking down Boob who defended him for so many years. 

That's exactly why I've created the scenario in my head that I did about Joshy being a front man for Boob. 

I refuse to let my brain go anywhere else. I refuse to accept that children were harmed. I refuse.

I just have to say this arrest was perfect timing. Tons of folks in their fundie cult are at Big Sandy right now. They are all fellowshipping and talking. Which means lots and lots of gossip. I've heard of this before, but in this day and age, why would people take the risk of downloading legal porn on their computer? Just create an account on PornHub and curate whatever favorites list you want. (I know PornHub and YouPorn have had past issues with underage amateurs, but I sincerely doubt anyone who accidentally watched or favorited one of those videos on those sites believing they were made legally is getting grabbed by U.S. fucking Marshalls.)

I feel like the only people downloading massive amounts of porn are those who are into illegal porn and can't be assured they can always access it on the internet.

Everyone was at Suzanna’s wedding last year. No one is disowned in that family.
