Josh, Anna, M'Kids 23: Failing at Object Lessons Now Really Failing with a Federal Arrest!

Haven't been on the forum in a few years, but this has brought me back. I feel conflicted because in one way I want to see Josh punished for his scumbag molesting ways, but OTOH if it's not CSA, then I feel bad for Anna. I really wish she had left Josh in 2015 when she had family support and could have made a lot of $$$ from tell-all interviews.

My suspicion, based on experience, is that if the U.S. Marshal Service has to track you down, it's probably not a white collar crime like money laundering.

I have so many questions. So so many questions. 

Also I really hope that they knew this was coming and Josh had a chance to "prepare" (making sure that the arrest happened far away from the M's) Anna having to explain that Daddy is in jail will be hard enough I just hope that the kids don't have to additional trauma of having had to see him be arrested (I unfortunately have seen a parent arrested on two seperate occasions, my heart goes out to those kids) 

I also hope (even though I know it's highly unlikely) that the kids will have access to a lot of support to help process the shame/fear/anger etc that comes along with this.

same here, it's been a hot minute. never intended to completely leave and never come back, just got busier and busier, but damn what a reason to come back and see what i've missed. i've only vaguely kept up with the duggars (i know so many have gotten married now and have kids and damn it's hard to remember it all lol). but good ol' fj, i know i can always find out what i need to know here.

I hope for Anna’s sake he gets locked up for a long time so she has a break from having to have sex with and producing that man’s children.  Although sadly for her, she’ll be at the mercy of Ma and Pa Duggar for the rest of her life.  That’s a horrible thought, but better than having 10 more children with Josh.

It's not giving me life. Don't get me wrong, I love to see a nasty POS like Josh meet his downfall, but based on the circumstances. I think this is going to be something very, very bad.

I have an acquaintance whose husband was convicted of child porn possession. He had something like 7 devices including hard drives, phone, computer, work computer, etc. It also was discovered that he had also created and distributed some of it. The feds staged a multi-year investigation prior to his arrest. 
 

I hope it’s not true, but my best guess, especially given the nature of his previous crimes, is that this is connected to the car lot raid, and that it involves child porn that Josh had on workplace devices to try to hide it from Anna. If it were financial it would not just be Josh getting arrested. That family has all their business dealings tied together and there’s no way Josh would be the primary target instead of Jim Bob.

Maybe depends on the agency, but I had an aunt arrested for selling drugs a couple years back. They didn't inform her of the arrest ahead of time (so they could search the house) but they had been watching the house prior to the arrest and did wait until my cousin left for school. So I do think (or hope, at least) that is taken into account.

She can leave, she can check in with her siblings, she can get a job, the world over women in even worse situations like her raise their children alone. The question is why would she give it up, when she can stay in the windowless warehouse and gets three feeds daily for keeping sweet.

She’d just had her 8th. Now she’s living at ma and pa Mortons and gets help from her siblings.

I really hope they were not there when it happened, but really, where else would they be? at best at the big house, but they would've noticed, it's all one compound right? It's not like you would miss (i can only imagine) if someone shows up to arrest someone?

That honestly would not surprise me.  When the cheating scandal broke, he did admit to having a porn addiction.  But child porn would be a new level of disgusting.  Honestly, the only thing more unforgivable in society than possessing or making child porn is murder.  
 

But we don’t know the full details at this time.  It could very well be some sort of fraud charges, too.

I do feel sorry for his kids.  They never asked for any of this.  They never asked to be raised in such a harmful belief system, and they never asked for all this attention on their family.  Josh has no one to blame but himself for his troubles.

The US Marshall’s are a Federal Agency and they carry out arrests for other Federal Agencies.

While I would love to see that too based on the past actions that is never going to happen.

Anna is about to get thrown completely under the bus.  If she was a better wife none of this would’ve happened - that’s the mantra.

I read somewhere that he turned himself in but that was several browser tabs ago and was likely from a rag site.

What’s the deal with not releasing the nature of the crime?  I thought making that info public and readily available was sort of mandatory when you arrest someone. 
Maybe cause it’s Feds they don’t have to disclose that info?

Oh most definitely. Her family is big, lots of early, often arranged marriages. Two of her brothers married two of her ex's sisters, so the families were really enmeshed. Her ex is in prison for child sexual abuse and incest, the victim is not known nor is it allowed to speculate who.
