I pronounce the name this way in my head:

Praise The Lord Hell for rich.

Since I'm not a native English speaker: How do you pronounce 'Helferich'. It seems to be a name of German origin and I always pronounce it German, but I'm interested to know how Americans pronounce it.

So duggar data found some info on Praise. She’s 5 years older than Denver and her full name Praise The Lord Helferich ?

Is she the eldest girl? How are the other girls named?

Oh I’m sure we would all pronounce it differently! Depending on where you live, an accent will make it sound very different. I’m in the Midwest and I would pronounce it Hell-fer-rich. But we also really smoosh long names a bit so saying it out loud would mean you say it kind of quick. So smooshing it means some people would say it with two syllables like hell-fritch. That’s just my guess though. It could be pronounced by the family completely differently.

She’s not the oldest. I think two possibly older sisters are married to men with the last name Hardy. They are Ana and Lydia. I’m assuming the two other sisters married Hardy brothers. Because their husbands look just alike. I don’t know their ages though.

I’ve definitely been pronouncing it differently than that in my head. I’m from the Southeastern US and my brain wants to smoosh this into being Hell-frick because I feel like that -ch sound probably actually makes a -ck sound. If I slowed down and thought about it, I would probably say Hell-fer-rick. @ophelia how would you pronounce it in German?

Arkansas here... Agree on the -ck sound. I have been pronouncing it “Hell-fer-rick” in my head. Would probably sound more like “hell-frick” if I said it out loud.

Not @ophelia but also German .  I would pronounce Helferich like Hell- fe - rich . And I always run into trouble when it comes to describing the ch sound in the German language . There are multiple ways to pronounce it . As a hard k sound when followed by  the letter s  for example .

Here is a video about the ch  thing

Thank you @hasunah for stepping in. I also have a hard time describing the pronounciation of German words. German is a tricky language..

And thank you to everyone that described to me their way of pronouncing Helferich ??

I can't believe I'm saying this but I actually prefer Heistheway to Praise The Lord. WTF???  This just confirms it to me that the Helferiches are total whackos. I kind of feel for Mrs Jeremiah Helferich, going from under Marlin Bontrager's thumb to this shit show.

Do we know anything about the rest of the Helferich siblings? It seems both Praise and Jeremiah got married/will get married in their mid-20's which is a tad late in fundie land. I was just wondering if they had any unmarried adult children left, particularly sons. Now they're connected to the Maxwell's perhaps their the right type for Steve to finally release a daughter.

Honestly, not much. The Helferich family doesn't have an active blog, so they only became known on FJ through Allison's marriage to Jeremiah. Who knows what Steve Maxwell is thinking when it comes down to marrying off one of his daughters to any man. If there is a man age eligible for Anna or Mary, then maybe Steve would consider.

I prefer Praise. I think it sounds like Grace. At least it's not one word, and easy to pronounce.

The Helferichs have 11 children including Jeremiah and Praise. If you look at Allison's bridesmaids, she had three of his sisters in the wedding party including Praise.  Jeremiah had 5 brothers in the wedding party. It's unclear how old those brothers are.  He also has two siblings that weren't in the wedding.  The other brothers could also be matches for the single Rod girls.

Praise just reminds me off this mayonnaise ad in Australia in the 80’s. “Praise - nothing tastes creamier”

PTLH  is a hell of a monogram

My husband’s monogram spells out an actual word that has negative connotations. I had the audacity to name our child after him and now they both have bad monograms! Lol. At least it’s not ASS though. I would draw the line there!

I had a classmate in school who’s Monogram was ALF & it was on her backpack. Alf the TV show was very popular when we were young.

So, I just found out on Reddit that Praise Helferich's legal name is Praise T.L. Helferich with T.L meaning The Lord. Honestly, I thought people were joking about her name being Praise The Lord Helferich.

"As the Marxist Revolution accelerates, our country is in crisis..."

I really lol'ed at that one. I'm not a Marxist ideologue but I'm friends with many DSA members (Democratic Socialists of America)  in my city and read their newsletter. The consensus in those circles in that capitalism has never been so powerful in America, inequalities between rich and poor have never been wider and large corporations have never been so wealthy. Joe Biden represents no threat whatsoever to late-term capitalism. And these "activists" hold modern socialist views like the French or the Swedes. Marxists at this point have pretty much given up on America so a communist revolution is laughable.

Curtis needs to relax, his freedom ain't going anywhere. But of course there's more money to be made from doomsday fear mongering.

Yeah. I keep saying that most of the fundies we discuss here wouldn't recognise communism or socialism if you hit them over the head with it.

He’s been saying this exact thing for almost a decade. When his little movie “Agenda” came out years ago, it was kind of a new idea and it was new and bold to a bunch of fundies. Now with Qanon, 4chan, and trumpers everywhere, his ideas are old and stale. He just keeps saying the same kind of crap over and over again.

Yeah, Curtis needs a new hustle. This is getting old, and he isn't getting rich selling DVDs.

But seriously, I can see the Bowers family (already well known for odd unexplained moves from state to state)  up and moving to Alaska and living off the grid with a arsenal of weapons. They may look stylish and Instagrammable, but Curtis is a deeply disturbed and hateful dude

I almost wish they would. However I doubt they would do that because it seems that they are quite a social family. They would have a hard time cut off from all that sweet fellowship. The Bowers boys seem to be getting closer with the Duggar boys this year.
