if, other than a money spinning wedding special, Stephen has no intention of being part of the Duggar circus then I don’t see Josh’s crimes bothering him if he’s really interested. Although I think Jana has hateful beliefs, lots of people portray her as a victim and I think people will be sympathetic to her. 
I do wonder what full blown Duggar cheerleader Hilary Spivey is thinking right now though .

Probably not. I think they just wanted to quell courtship rumors before they're ready to announce.

If Josh had been charged with some form of fraud or theft, I would be more willing to think Jana and Stephen would have a public wedding as a distraction. But now that we know the charges are child porn, I’m thinking these two might keep things private until they are married. Then some little announcement online after they are married.

Hannah Wissmann posted a picture of Stephen and a couple of his sisters doing handstands earlier today.  It made me wonder how much he cares considering everything Jana and her siblings are going through right now.

This is a damned if you do and damned if you don't situation. If you post something - oh, they don't care about the duggars and what they might be going through right now..

If you don't post something: oh, they have something to hide..

 

I mean, i see your point, but I don't think Hannah Wissmann (who I don't know or follow) should be in a position to speak out that she condemns CSA (I hope i got that right?). I'd say every sane person would condemn CSA, and everybody would be talking if loads of random fundies would start condeming CSA now too.. So for me, I am just assuming that everybody condemns it and I will have even less respect for people who still defend Josh now, but I don't think it makes sense to shit on people for living their life, going on about it and not stating that they are against CSA. Do you expect every fundie that knows the Duggars (aka EVERY fundie) to not post anything until i dunno when?

Insomnia last night, I envisioned a big Uhaul backed up to the front door, Jana throwing stuff in it as quickly as she can shouting “I’m outta here”. Goes to the back and hooks her greenhouse to the bumper and drives away. One can dream even when insomnia is involved. This would be a good time for several of them to jump ship.

No, I don't expect people/fundies who know the Duggars to stop living their lives.  That's certainly not what I meant by my post.  I thought it was interesting that IF the Stephen and Jana rumors are true, that the Wissmans would post something where they looked so carefree and happy yesterday when the shit hit the roof for the Duggars.  It made me wonder if things aren't serious between Stephen and Jana.  

That's the only thing I was talking about--certainly not that the Wissman's have to stop living their lives or stop using social media.

I think they will just carry on as per usual, wheter it is a love match or set up, because they do not want to have speculation. Which they already have anyways, but they don't want to increase that. So they will play it off, not comment on anything that has to do with the duggars and not act in any way different than they have done so far, I suppose.

 

I don't think it makes a difference if S+J will continue or break over that. I don't think they will announce right now, they will definitely safe that tidbit for a later time.. it's not like a pesky little courtship of Jana would suddenly change everything

Just musing this AM(I’m on the west coast, so it’s still early). Jana has choices. She could waltz down to Lowes or Home Depot and apply for a job. It would be a good fit. She’s handy and likely has a good working knowledge of items that would be shilled in that business. From design, to gardening and construction, she seemingly knows what she’s doing. With a little money from JB, she could even start her own business. There is no reason for her to becstuck at home at 31, waiting for Prince Charming. She doesn’t have 6 kids and counting to provide for.

@SassyPants but she’d have to turn up on time and do as her manager told her. She’s had half a lifetime of humpers telling her she’s a concert pianist, a midwife and should have her own home renovation show on TV.  She does her remodelling projects, tends the garden, gets to travel with her friend, poses with cups of coffee and shills stuff on Instagram, I doubt she has any inclination to do paid work for anyone not called Duggar.

In the “I pray you put this journal away,” [if you haven’t been following this, it’s a YouTube podcast by a former friend of the Duggars, who was a contemporary and friend of Josh] Justin says he had a massive crush on Jana. One day he was visiting them and he asked Jana what music she liked. She went to the piano and played a contemporary Christian song beautifully. They were Having A Moment - until Michelle summoned her back to her domestic slavery. Just that sad little story makes me really want Jana to find a good guy who appreciates music.

This type of snarky comment is just what I need atm. Tripped yesterday and now have a badly broken elbow. After a night in hospital it is good to be home with the pain medication. I’m due for surgery on the elbow in the next few days and I’m feeling a bit sorry for myself. FJ is just the distraction that I need.

@Angelface - sending healing vibes your way. About 10 years ago while on holiday to the US my sister fell and broke her elbow - such a painful break, followed by the eye watering medical bill. Fortunately our insurance covered it but it made us very grateful for the NHS.

Thank you. I live in the UK and cannot praise the NHS enough. Everyone was wonderful and the Covid safety precautions fantastic.
