Gothard Selling Homes Behind Old HQ?

Remember HQ in Oak Brook? Didn't ATI/IBLP Bill Gothard own some of the homes behind the HQ? A couple more have gone on the market (Per zillow, take it with a grain of salt). IDK and I am not even sure these are the houses IBLP even owns them, I just remember someone saying the group did own some of the properties back there. Didn't the Wallers live in one of the houses before they moved to Big Sandy?  Did HQ ever get sold or does the group still own the property? I know when shit hit the fan a few years ago they were selling off properties (hence the move to Big Sandy)

I am surprised he is still alive. I do wonder who is taking care of him and if he is doing any pontificating to an audience. I really want to know if they still own Northwoods in the UP of Michigan. That property would be a really cool retreat but it is SO far from everywhere. I guess it is good it has it's own air strip.

I’m not 100% sure if any of these particular houses were owned by IBLP, but Im pretty sure did own several in the area. I was there in 2013 for JTTH, so I tried to look at street view of the area on Google maps and try to remember the houses. The staff was definitely housed in several of these surrounding houses (just don’t remember which ones). I believe I stayed in one on Birchwood, which is the next street over, for the week I was there.

I don’t know which properties they still own in Illinois, but they do still have Northwoods. They have hosted family conferences (and maybe other events?) there a few times in the last few years. Northwoods is definitely a neat place, but yes, in the middle of nowhere.

It doesn't sound like he has much going on. From what I can tell IBLP owns the Basic Seminar material, so he can't really use it. Though his website has "clarifications" on his Basic Seminar teachings. He has written a booklet on how to respond to Covid which looks to be his regular load of crap. He has always written booklets on how to stop all riots in all cities and how to know if you qualify to get money from God. He still is living in a delusional world were he and he alone has the answers to everything. 

Last I heard he was living in near poverty desperately trying to get his hands back on the IBLP money. From what I understand he did get part of Embassy back.

It makes sense to sell if he owns property to sell it. IBLP seems to be fading out (God willing). Gothard is out and he will likely never be back in. He's at age where he will need more money for his care and upkeep.  Given that David Waller seems to be running IBLP out of Texas, it makes sense to sell the property in Chicago. 

The only real question is does IBLP or Gothard or someone else own these properties.

Soooo Bill must be big time mad. There must be millions in real estate sitting there just out of reach. Here's a screen shot from the DuPage County Assessors Office. I've starred all the IBLP properties. They are listed under numerous company names (Campus Teams Inc, Institute in Basic Life, Inst-Basic Youth Conflict, Institute in Basic Life Prin., etc.) The most common one is Campus Teams. The Inst-Basic Youth Conflict ones must go back to the beginning. I wonder how many of the privately owned homes sandwiched in between their holdings belong to IBLP members? Oh and the long parcel running down the middle? It's almost 37 acres. I read this is one of the wealthiest areas in Illinois and even in the country. I didn't see Gothard's name on anything, but I think he would have sold any he owned outright by now. Times are tough for old Bill.

The 2 homes I posted above are not stared so he doesn't own them. Interesting they are surrounded by the properties. 

Thanks for doing the leg work with the assessors page. You are right, this is one of the wealthiest areas in IL. the area south of the major road (bottom of the picture) has many houses for sale over $1 million. Just down the road in Downers Grove (still expensive) you can fine 16 houses for sale (4 bedroom 2 bath) for under $375000, verses zero results in Hinsdale for the same criteria. 5 options $396K to $500k. (Hinsdale to Downers Grove is 4.7 miles per google maps.)
