Agreed - she's probably thrilled that she not only got to take pictures of the Duggars, but that she also captured a Bates boy with a potential partner.

Yes, she knew that would cause speculation. She is Jill Rod who was just more successful at getting her child to court a Duggar. Jill Rod only managed to get a her daughter to marry a Duggar in law and is probably jealous of Hilary.

I think Hilary may  be the most interesting thing about this courtship. I’d love it if she started inserting herself in the all the photos and TV appearances. The Duggars don’t want another failed courtship so would have to suck it up.

Hilary hit us with more pics. I wonder if she’s sitting between Justin and Claire a la Michelle between Benessa. It’s kinda weird that they didn’t picture Claire though, but if would be weirder if Claire’s parents would be flying with Justin and not her.

She is JillRod levels of famewhoring but i love that she is posting the pictures because the Bateses never acknowledge on their social media their visits to Big Sandy, the conferences and the family camp, probably becaue they think it is not good for their public image. Also, is 13 years old Ellie wearing makeup?

Kelly has posted a few things about makeup for younger teens since Josie started working as a cosmetologist. The youngest Bates girls even went to a makeup-themed birthday party their friend held (Josie's business partner Grace's sister Gigi.)

They are giggly teenagers; they shouldn't be planning a wedding and thinking about their inevitably imminent kids. Shame on their parents for encouraging this and for putting them in such a public spotlight for all the world to see.

They should be going to homecoming right now. They should be applying for colleges. They should be involved in extracirricular activities. They should be dating without thinking of marriage for YEARS. Their lives make me so sad.

Someone called them Claritin a while ago, and that's my favorite.

Engagement announcement at Thanksgiving, followed by a wedding before her birthday.  Maybe even before the end of the year.

I think a lot of this develops in childhood (& probably infancy). I went to a high school with a very high proportion of students from Asian backgrounds and am generally much better at distinguishing Korean/Chinese/Malaysian faces than black faces, for example. Even if the actors are famous, I will constantly get their characters confused.

Re: actual face blindness, there’s a YA novel by Jennifer Niven called Holding Up the Universe where one of the main characters has face blindness. I found it really interesting the way he memorises features to help him recognise his own family.

True, but they are both very young and they may wait until filming resumes because otherwise they’d have to pay for their own wedding and honeymoon and Duggars like getting free stuff.

Exactly. If I didn't know both of them came from fundie backgrounds, I'd just think they were two teens dating. They'd make a cute (normal) couple. The problem isn't that Justin and Claire are interested in the opposite sex. It is pretty normal development at that age to be in a first relationship. It is just nonsensical that they have to decide their whole future at 17-18 years old!

When’s his 18th birthday? My guess is if they don’t get engaged around his birthday or thanksgiving they will sometime around Christmas. I’d be surprised if they waited until next year to get engaged.
