M Is For Mama 8: She Really Is Awful

On the plus side her birthday post only had like a sentence or two about how much she didn't want Evy and Nola as opposed to her normal paragraph.

Eh, she's always so into going postdates, I kind of doubt she'd ask to be induced. That said, doctors are really induction happy right now* in my experience. But Abbie is all about her natural pregnancies and how good she is at being pregnant.

Here come baby August & Atticus OR Julian & Jasper OR Finn & Felix. How exciting. Hope Ezra has his twin baby wrap ready.

Not true this time around. She said earlier in the pregnancy that she actually hoped she would deliver before her due date.

She is SUCH an asshole.

I have twins and a singleton, all with birthdays within 5 days of each other. The boys are on, say, the 15th of "x" month, and my daughter was born on the 20th, three years later. So there's a LOT of celebrating going on during that week every year.

My boys have always had a very large, shared birthday party (being twins), but are now old enough that they really want to be individually appreciated. My daughter, who is around Abbie's girls' age, wants nothing to do with sharing a birthday with her brothers for MY convenience. And why would she?

If she does indeed deliver the boy twins on the girl twins' birthday, she had better make damn sure all four of those kids get to feel special on their birthday. If she happened to be induced on purpose today, fuck her. God. Nobody else we snark here gets me as riled up as Braggie, I swear.

If getting induced today was in any way Abbie's choice, and not 100% mandated by her doctors, then she's just sick. Those poor girls are already treated like a unit. She mentioned that their birthday tradition with each child is them getting to pick a restaurant to go to for lunch with just their parents, but in her stories yesterday she and Shaun were out with both girls. And maybe they're still young enough that they want to celebrate together, but what about when they get older? Will they even have a choice? What if one wants pizza and the other wants sushi?

I hope those boys take their sweet time coming out. Not that being born one day later than the older twins will really make a difference, Abbie will still celebrate all four birthdays at the same time no matter what, but at least it would be something.

Maybe just ONE of the boys will hold out until after midnight. That would totally mess up her social media plan.

Oh that would be great. The two girls and one boy share a birthday. And the second boy has a different birthday! I bet that would bug the shit out of her!

For twins, 37 weeks is considered full term. Multiple births mean more babies in the same amount of space. They are usually born early, because of space limits. For a single baby, getting to 38 weeks is considered full term. If Abby is well into 37th week, it is probably a fine time to induce. However most women would want to not have twins share a birthday with other children.  Although I could see people I know wanting to have them all born on the same day.

(I googled all this before I wrote it.)

My neighbors kids growing up had the same birthday 5 years apart. I don't think their mom enjoyed having to keep both of them happy with two different parties.

The thing is, Braggie doesn’t give a shit if her kids are happy about their birthdays. I doubt she tries to keep them happy on their birthdays. I think she just celebrates how she wants to celebrate. Taking the twins out with Shaun is probably just another excuse to go out to eat without a bunch of kids. She already has one date night a week. She needs another excuse to go out to eat.

Well, we finally got an update. She was induced, but didn’t say why. And, she is progressing slowly. She’s asking for prayers. Probably more so that the twins are born today, not tomorrow.

Now that Braggie can’t be the ultimate mommy martyr and have a week long overdue labor and homebirth, I think she will get an epidural.

My friend and her sister were both born on Oct 5, 3 years apart. It is well known that her parents were very excited about the Bills making the Super Bowl. ?

They are close siblings who do sister trips as adults now to celebrate, so it worked out. I think it will be much less fun for Abbie's kids.

I’m glad. If the boys are born after midnight, then they won’t have to share their birthday with another set of twins.

Fun fact. Kelly And Gil have four kids who share birthdays in February. But not all on one day. Two are on the 1st and two are on the 17th. Yet another thing they have in common with the Duggars. 19 kids but only 17 birthdays to celebrate.

They’re adorable!! I’m glad it went well for her, as I would be for any mother.

Seems like it was awfully quick. I wonder if she’s disappointed in that.

Beautiful babies. Sadly, just numbers.  And from here on out she’ll act like the 2 sets of twins were miraculously born on 9/24. She is the ultimate organizer for scripted material.

I notice she’s wearing nail polish, back in the old days they would make you take it off.  They used to check your finger nails to make sure they were pink and oxygenated.  I guess now they have a better way.  I’m happy those cute babies are well.

I don’t follow that one, but Abbie is educated and privileged. She knows better. I’m not sure that JRod has had or even has the advantages that AH has or has had.

When you know better and have more( of everything),  more is expected from you.

Her babies look healthy and that's what is most important. I assume they're adorable as well but all I see are potatoes. Imagine giving birth and having your first thought be 'gotta post to instagram for likes'. Welcome to the narc circus little ones. Let the exploitation begin.

I am afraid I agree with you. Like baby horses, cats, and dogs, baby humans are mostly pretty ugly for the first two weeks. I would never, of course, express this opinion when meeting a newborn for the first time to the proud mama. Babies, by definition, are beautiful when speaking to the mom.

She could easily have painted them after the birth.

I love baseball but I'm dreading the new season because the White Sox ownership is THE FUCKING WORST. I watched Dominican League Baseball (Lidom!) over the winter and fell in love with their joy, spirit, and exuberance. The broadcasts were in Spanish and my Spanish is pretty weak but I loved catching phrases and repeating them. Bombe! I'm sad about MLB and Commissioner Idiota's busywork rules. But I love baseball, always and forever.
I guess I don't have a point. Just bitching. Te amo mucho, Lidom!

      Happy International Women's Day!

Humanity may have some work to do, to improve gender equality, but I was glad to hear that France has taken an important step to protect healthcare for women (and people of other genders who can get pregnant).

Feeling ragey this morning. I have a doctor's appointment this afternoon in the hope of getting help for an ongoing injury. I went to a (different!!) doctor late last year who completely blew me off. He wouldn't do diagnostic testin, he refused to send me to a specialist, and he just told me to "take it easy" and "take ibuprofen." I'm hopeful for today's appointment but I'm also feeling a SEVERE amount of rage at that doctor from last year!

Well, the rash is back with a vengeance. It never completely cleared up. I saw the derm yesterday and they did another swab and yup, raging infection again, still? It is definitely strep skin infection. I am getting so damn tired and run down from this. Who the f would immagine being hospitalized freaking TWICE for a rash?

My niece is going to be a seat filler at this year's Academy Awards.  Seat fillers are asked to wear tuxedos regardless of sex/gender.  If you see a pretty young woman with very curly hair, it could be my niece.

It’s not supposed to be mosquito season right now but I still appear to have been bitten twice on the side of my foot. Bastards. I know I shouldn’t scratch but it’s so tempting… 😑
