Back in 2012 I was in Turkey in March so not only did I have the US start of DST to contend with, but also Turkey's start of DST.  That was ugh-tastic since we had to be up early to ride to our next destination.

We actually have a door like that in our house but it’s nailed shut so it can’t be opened.  When dad remodeled back in the 80s he put in new stairs to the basement in what had been a hall closet and put a new entrance up at the top of the steps. It was too much trouble to remove the door and fill in the space so he just nailed it shut.
