I snorted out loud. Watching the emails from where I work about how student assessment is going to happen this year...

We are just going to turn out our lights this year. At least I won't have to stay in the back of the house keeping the dogs calm while my partner hands out the goodies.

Another option for socially distant trick or treating. Where I live, the county has pretty much cancelled trick or treating for this year. Then again, the tradition seems to have been dying before the pandemic, as last year, I had so much candy left over, that I took it with me to work.

Interesting idea.  We rarely get trick-or-treaters anymore, but sometimes the neighbors bring over their grandkids.  Cuteness!  Anyway, we have a second story window over our front door.  My husband often hangs out the window wearing a scary mask while I open the door to hand out candy.  Although we probably won't encourage Halloween this year, throwing candy down from the second floor (or a candy slide!), might be an option.  We always have candy left over, and it's never a hardship, lol!

That would be such a fun option for kids. I suspect all our events are cancelled too, although I haven't seen anything yet. Something where you could pull a lever and have the candy come down a shute though would be so much fun!

We live in a new section of our neighborhood, so last Halloween was the first for everyone on our cul de sac. We had been planning to do something big in the end of the cul de sac for this year, so we are trying to come up with something that will allow for social distancing while still making it fun. We're thinking each house will put a decorated 6 ft. table in the cul de sac, then put candy spread out on the table (so no one is reaching into the same bucket/bag). We will all stand back from the tables and have masks, but still be there to make sure kids aren't grabbing all the candy. Then maybe fog machines and music. Not what we had hoped for, but better than nothing.

Ah but there's the difference. You at least will attempt to search for it on your own. ??

Sideways related to a discussion elsewhere, but I have to say - 2020 this is low, even for you.

Context: up until yesterday we had a one hour per person per day exercise restriction which is now extended to two hours. Pretty much all my running friends laughed and looked shifty.
