Oh poor Joyanna! Been there and done that myself but I smiled while watching it. I also keep thinking that they are forced at every single event to sing that song and how did she brain fart with that song? They can sing it their sleep by now.

They are such little cuties. I hope Miss Joy is feeling blush free now.

Way better than listening to them play the violin. They did a good job of recovering though, even if Joy left the stage.

Poor Joy on two fronts! First, the obvious flub-up. Second, she has apparently taken over as caretaker of the Howlers (I suggested that she should have taken the kids out to play during that rehearsal when Jason fell...I wasn't far off the mark). Jill used to do that schtick and since Joy is her buddy, well, there you go...she's a "woman" now and she has her ready-made family intact.

No wonder she looks like she wants to kill someone most of the time these days. The care of 6 kids from ages 6-12 should not be in the hands of a 13 (14 in a couple weeks) year old girl.

Hopefully she wasn't punished.

Jed did an admirable job filling in and seems to have a better voice. Maybe it's time to pass the gauntlet to one of the boys.

No violins? I am sooo glad not to be hearing the finger nails on a chalkboard sound! And yes, poor Joy!

Per the Country Music Hall of Fame's Twitter, they were also at their facility on Thursday.

http://twitter.com/#!/countrymusichof/s ... 29/photo/1

How do they justify this one since Country has all that Satanic music with backbeats that Gothard says is a no-no? And from what I hear, a lot of NIKE! type fans mulling about.

Also, if you can clap to it, it has a backbeat *cough*I Am Redeemed*cough* There's figure skating music with less of a beat than that old saw (in addition to the violins, hee) that the Duggars drag out on the performance circuit. I wonder if Joy's a newbie at this; as I noted before the last time I saw this performed, Jill was the "leader." Interesting that it was Jana that put Jackson and Justin back in line when Jed (my favorite Duggar other than Joy, who really needs one of us to rescue her from a fate she doesn't appear to enjoy at ALL) took over singing duties.

Agree that Jed has some potential as a singer, Joy, not so much. Jed was probably the one providing what little harmony there was in places. I guess with 19 kids, 15 of whom are at least at the point where they know how to hold their violins in "rest" positions, even if they don't really play their little minis, you'll get a couple with real talent, even with parents who have tin ears but are required to train up their children with the violin and piano; Gothard says so.

I hope that if one of the children did not want to sing, that they would not be made to do so.

Poor Joy, she's at an age when embarrassments are so serious.

edited as usual for riffels/rifels/ah...hell...I can't even spell that.

.....poor Joy. Please don't let this be featured in the show and shown to everyone forever. How would it feel to have an embarrassing moment shown to millions and available onDemand and DVD forever?

Poor Joy. She was laughing though, so I'm guessing she left the stage so she wouldn't keep messing up the others. When one very prominent player forgets their part, everyone else can screw up. Embarassing, yeah, but she's probably still laughing about it. This happens even to pop stars onstage. Embarrassments are serious at that age, but I get the feeling that Joy just wasn't that bothered.

Why why why??? Why do these children perform in public? They are not good musicians or good singers. It's like watching a bear ride a motorcycle. JB & M seem to have no musicality themselves so why do they expect their children to have any talent? Ugh.

Because the Almighty Gothard sayeth that it shall be so.

I agree with kunoichi, they probably sing and perform at events because of Gothard. I sort of think the Duggars probably deep down think that they are decent singers and musicians. I bet some of the people who see them perform at events probably don't enjoy their performances, but they just smile and clap to be nice. I thought their singing in the NYC episode was atrocious and Smuggar sounded the worst.

Gothard LOVES families who "minister" together. On Anna Hackel's blog she shows the Wilsons (the guy who built the houses) have a blue grass ministry now.

Imagine this happening in the Maxwell family. They'd have to stop and repent and pray for an hour.

With Joy and Josiah's attitudes I'm surprised they risked having her out there. Both seem ready to explode most of the time.

Is this really recent? The children (especially Joy Anna and Jason) look younger than they've looked recently.

One of those kids was hitting the bass pretty well. Impressive for a little kid.

I used to have to get up and sing a "special" in church with my cousins when I was a kid. Most of us liked it. The ones that hated it weren't made to do it. I did it because it made my grandmother happy, and since she was the church organist and a pretty good musician, and we all got her genes, we were all pretty good singers.

I thought it was pretty cute, and handled well.

Both events were posted this past Thursday. So yeah, they're recent.

I think I am in the minority here but I always enjoy the Duggars singing (not violining though). Something about a lot of people singing together, I guess. The ones the kids sing and "When I Think of Heaven" are my favourites. I have strange taste...

      Stupid loneliness!
Kid 1 went back to college (yeah! But sad foe me, she stayed with me all summer. It was nice to start a new phase in our mother/daughter relationship)
Zero prospects on dates. (Not that I have tried online dating, scared of that but I have reached put to a new group at church, etc.
I asked a friend to go to dinner the other night so I wasn't eating alone, again. The friend had plans, all my friends always have plans. I see stuff on social media, I'm never invited. I'm single, I'm the 3rd or 5th wheel.
My one parent friend at kid 2's fall sport won't be there because their daughter made varsity (Yeah for her!!! Seriously happy for her. Sad for me for another sport I basically sit alone, did that majority of spring and summer sporting events.)
And now I'm crying as my mom told me 2 different funny stores that former teachers remembered about my twin. Both stories were about how they got a crack out of my twin's antics (my parents went to a funeral today and saw former colleagues). Teachers remember me (after all I was a twin and teachers' kid) but none would have memorable stories of me.
      I feel invisible.
Don't worry, this will pass,  it always does. I just need a pity party for a few days. I'm not in anyway going to harm myself. As lonely as I am, I have a very full life I (usually) love. I just needed to vent and cry for a moment.
If you are still reading this, thanks Fjer. 😊

Absolutely awful about the fires on Maui. In 2019, I stayed in Lahaina. I liked to sit on the sea wall, which is the only structure left now, and watch the water. People are receiving help, but many had to leave pets. Please donate to the Maui Humane Society, which is leading efforts to find, treat, and reunite pets.
