I like to died when I read that uber scumbag sex addict and possible serial baby/child murderer -- not one but two of his children died under extremely suspicious circumstances -- Dave Hyles is currently running a "rehab" for fallen pastors.  Am I just a complete, utter, hopeless cynic where the Hyles men are concerned?

Bruce Gerencser covered it in 2015 and it's worth a read:  UPDATED: Serial Adulterer David Hyles Has Been Restored

Bruce Gerencser was a saved Independent Fundamentalist Baptist preacher for most of his adult life (until 12 years ago). Now he considers himself an evolving humanist; IFB is in the rear view mirror.

Not sure what the who-hates-who politics involved might be, but perhaps he can go to Dave Hyles' spa for fallen pastors, at the former Red Barn B&B. That's pretty luxurious.

That’s some weapons-grade hand-patting going on in that joint.

I think you are an accurate thinker where the Hyles men are concerned.

Oh, yeah. "Poor baby, did the big meanies catch you being a scumbag? Awwww." ?

We got a good look at how nice that place is when Bro Gary stayed there for a while, taking care of the animals, mowing the grounds (well, his son Jacob was doing the latter, and probably the former), and ranting on Facebook, while Dave was visiting someone.

It starts here, and goes to June 4:

I checked out The Red Barn's website.

I assume the woman in the photos with Vile Scumbag David Hyles (TM) is the long time mistress/now wife -- whose child mysteriously died in suspicious circumstances while in VSDH's care?

The fact that VSDH is still walking around free boggles my mind. The fact he's set himself up as some sort of "therapist" to help similar scumbags is nauseating. The fact that there are people who see nothing wrong with all this makes me weep and howl with rage.

I’m in the middle of Michael Cohen’s memoir “Disloyal.” In it, he talks about his close friendship with Jerry. Unfortunately, it was written before the Falwell situation hit the fan, and he portrays Jerry and his wife as innocents being blackmailed by The Evil Pool Boy.

We've got 911 reports & alcohol now

911 Call From Intoxicated Jerry Falwell Jr.’s House Last Month Describes ‘A Lot Of Blood’

Roque PlanasNational Reporter, HuffPost

Thu, September 17, 2020, 4:35 PM CDT

One week after Reuters published an explosive report on an alleged sexual and financial relationship between Jerry Falwell Jr., his wife and a Miami man named Giancarlo Granda, responders were called to the Falwells’ house in Bedford County, Virginia.

According to records and 911 audio obtained by HuffPost, on the night of Aug. 30, Jerry Falwell Jr. was intoxicated and apparently injured; his wife, Becki Falwell, described “a lot of blood right now.”

Alcohol use lurked behind the series of scandals that led Jerry Falwell Jr. to resign as president of Liberty University last month. He initially announced a leave of absence from Liberty, a private evangelical university founded by his father, Jerry Falwell Sr., on Aug. 7 after he posted a racy photo on Instagram with his pants unzipped, and his arm around a woman with her midriff exposed. A dark drink was in his hand, which he later claimed was “black water” that was “a prop only.” Liberty University stringently forbids alcohol use by students.

Jerry Falwell Jr. resigned as president of Liberty on Aug. 25, one day after Reuters published a story on Granda’s allegations he had a yearslong sexual relationship with Becki Falwell, with the approval of her husband, and that also led to some interlocking business relationships. In other news accounts, Granda claimed that the Falwells’ “lavish lifestyle consisted of heavy drinking and going to nightclubs, which is strictly prohibited by the honor code that they expect everyone else to follow.”

On Aug. 31, Liberty’s board of trustees announced a comprehensive investigation by an outside firm of Jerry Falwell Jr.’s tenure as president. Earlier that morning, around 2:30 a.m., Bedford County dispatchers received a 911 call from Becki Falwell.

She described being at church around 11 p.m. and receiving a call from her husband, who said he was bleeding after a fall down the stairs. Finding the doors locked when she got home, she used a chair to break through the back door.

The dispatcher asked whether her husband had been drinking alcohol; Becki Falwell said “yes.” When asked if he had been drinking “heavily,” she said, “I’m not going to answer that question.”

The dispatcher explained that alcohol thins the blood and could account for the excessive bleeding, and restated the question.

“The more I tell you the name, the more you’re going to understand why we’re not talking to you right now,” Becki Falwell said. Dispatch logs, obtained by HuffPost via a public records request, state that “He won’t let her take him to the hospital as he is stubborn. Caller was not forthcoming.”

But medics and emergency responders arrived at the residence later that night. A responder observed lacerations on Jerry Falwell Jr.’s face, including under his left eye, across the bridge of his nose, and above both his right and left eyes. The responder also recorded in a report that Jerry Falwell Jr. said he hit his head on a trash can, and that there was “blood in the area he indicated” as well as “empty alcohol containers.” The officer also noted “Jerry had slurred and slowed speach (sic) and would repeat things already asked.”

Neither the Falwells nor a lawyer reportedly hired by Jerry Falwell Jr. responded to phone calls, voice messages or emails from HuffPost requesting comment. An email to Liberty University’s spokesman also went unanswered.

The son of an influential televangelist and megachurch co-founder, Jerry Falwell Jr. had attracted attention for incendiary political commentary. In a 2015 speech, for example, he bragged about his concealed carry permit and said if more people had them, “we could end those Muslims before they walked in and killed them.”

Many evangelicals forgo alcohol, which Jerry Falwell Sr. called “the worst, most offensive drug in American society.” The Liberty University code of conduct prohibits students from drinking — whether on or off campus, before or after age 21. The school requires students to submit to random breath, blood and urine tests to enforce the ban.

Jerry Falwell Jr. was one of the earliest prominent evangelicals to back Donald Trump for president, and campaigned aggressively for him in the 2016 election.

The Wall Street Journal reported last week that “Former school administrators said staff and donors complained that he showed up to campus appearing drunk or smelling of alcohol.” Jerry Falwell Jr. told the Journal he did not come to campus drunk, though noted alcohol was not banned for faculty.

But Jerry Falwell Jr. had long appeared anxious about his public image as it related to alcohol use. Politico asked him last month, on Aug. 21, about photos on the internet from 2014 of him partying at a Miami nightclub. He claimed the photos were “likely photo-shopped.” However, the Politico report says several Liberty staffers claim that when the photos came out several years ago, Jerry Falwell Jr. urged Liberty’s head of IT to help him deprioritize the photos in Google search results.

This was on GMA this morning!  A "pool attendant" was mentioned.  I'll bet Giancarlo wishes he's never met these scumbags.

Anyway, on the night in question, Jerry is shit-faced drunk and (this is a classic) face plants into a trash can with resulting cuts and contusions across his nose and above both eyes.   He calls Becki "at church" at 11 PM (not AM!) She gets home, has to break into the house (who the hell doesn't have a house key?)  and calls 911, and then isn't forthcoming with information.

Facts:

  • Jerry is shit-faced drunk
  • Jerry face planted into a trash can, and this was verified by the presence of blood in the area of the trash can

Everything else, who knows?

  • Was Becki really "at church" at 11 o'clock at night?
  • How did she get locked out of her house?
  • Were they fighting and Jerry locked her out?
  • Are they actually living separately now, and Becki didn't have a key to the house where Jerry is living and had to break in to help him?

 So. Many. Questions.

In case you needed a deep-dive, big picture account of Falwell Jr's zipper, the WaPo just published this article:

Quote

For 2½ years, Giancarlo Granda had been telling his family about the generosity of his business partners. The wealthy couple from out of town had taken him under their wing, he said, rewarding the Miami pool attendant’s ambition with a stake in a multimillion-dollar real estate project. Now he wanted them to meet.

In a trendy Italian restaurant inside the South Beach property where he’d become a part owner, Granda introduced his parents and sister to his unlikely benefactors: Jerry and Becki Falwell.

Just saw this from Rolling Stone about Falwell's time at Liberty

Quote

On May 27th, the second day of mounting national outrage over the killing of George Floyd by Minneapolis police, the president of America’s largest evangelical university decided it was the perfect time to blast out a tweet featuring the crudest of racial imagery. “I was adamantly opposed to the mandate from @GovernorVA requiring citizens to wear face masks until I decided to design my own,” wrote Jerry Falwell Jr. Below the text was his design: a mask displaying the image of a white person in blackface, standing next to a fellow sporting a Klan robe and hood.

This kind of intentional offensiveness was nothing new for Falwell. The Liberty University president, whose early endorsement in 2016 was widely credited with helping to persuade white evangelicals to back Donald Trump in massive numbers, had been emulating Trump’s truculent style of political provocation ever since. Though he’d never been a minister, Falwell’s inherited position as the unquestioned monarch of the university his famous televangelist father, Jerry Sr., founded in Lynchburg, Virginia — with its 15,000 students on campus and more than 95,000 online — had made him a prominent figure in evangelical Christianity. But Falwell’s public and private behavior, never particularly righteous, had grown increasingly Trumpian, along with his rhetoric.

Earlier in the spring, with coronavirus infections and deaths on the rise and other campuses closing, Falwell had defiantly invited students to return to Lynchburg and resume normal college life after spring break. “You guys paid to be here, you wanted to be on campus,” he told them. “And I want to give you what you paid for.” What he really wanted, critics said, was to earn another gold star from the Covid-denying president. Before spring break, Liberty had failed to distribute CDC-recommended information to students and staff about social distancing, masks, proper hand-washing, and the rest. Some students had departed for spring break unaware that the pandemic wasn’t just fake news. Their school’s president was saying that young people “don’t have conditions that put them at risk.” Others knew better. “Jerry literally follows anything that Trump says,” one disgusted Liberty senior told a reporter. On Fox, Falwell speculated that the virus might be the “Christmas gift” promised to the U.S. by North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un, working in collaboration with China. On talk radio, he said the whole coronavirus thing was blown out of proportion by Democrats and the media, who were “willing to destroy the economy just to hurt Trump.” While other universities were moving classes online, Liberty would not succumb to a made-up panic over a threat no greater than the flu, he insisted, as consternation and criticism rained down.

When Falwell refused to back down, one Liberty professor was moved to an act of public defiance almost unheard-of at a school that had always been run as an unquestioned dictatorship of Falwells. “His public comments have manifested bravado, self-congratulation, and callousness in the extreme,” Marybeth Davis Baggett wrote in a Washington Post op-ed during spring break. Falwell wasn’t only putting students at risk, she noted, but teachers, staff members, and Lynchburg residents as well. Falwell responded by mocking her as “the ‘Baggett’ lady” on social media. When a parent questioned Falwell on Twitter about his reasons for reopening the campus, he called the man a “dummy” in reply.

While what Falwell did was completely wrong and offensive AF, you conveniently snipped the paragraph about the pic Falwell tweeted being in Ralph Northam's medical school yearbook.  Northam 'admitted' he was is in the picture that Falwell tweeted, and then later retracted it and said it wasn't him (?!?!). Ok dude.

Good thing Northam can't run again next year, because I wasn't going to vote for him, despite being a decent gov on the whole. Falwell is a piece of shit but at least you know what you're getting.

Wow, it takes a special kind of entitlement to sue an institution for firing you for actions far beyond what would have gotten a student expelled!

And he’s claiming he suffered damage to his reputation

Quote

"Mr. Falwell has suffered damage to his reputation, damage to his profession, humiliation, and anguish; lost business opportunities; and suffered other pecuniary damage," according to the plaintiff's complaint.

More like he suffered definition of character.

Plus, greedy f**ker that he is, the lawsuit means he's angling for an even bigger golden parachute than what he's currently getting.

What would Jesus do Jerry?  And I mean the real Jesus, not the fucking golden calf obscenity called Jeeeeeeeeeezus.  The real Jesus would be cool with drinking in moderation and healthy sexual expression between consenting adults but He sure as fuck wouldn't be down with the hypocrisy where you're doing the exact opposite of what you demanded of your students.  And if He got kicked out of the family business He'd have some fucking humility about it and wouldn't come back with lawyers trying to sue.

Here's more:  https://www.politico.com/news/2020/10/29/jerry-falwell-sues-liberty-university-433616

in which he alleges that Liberty did not "did not properly investigate claims about his personal life before pushing him to resign as president over the summer."  Why in the name of all that's good and holy would he WANT Liberty to properly investigate?????   I agree with someone above who posited that he's angling for more $$$, but does he REALLY want more investigation into his personal life!?!?!?  This is gonna be fun, folks.  Break out the popcorn and gin.

Liberty has looked the other way on his behavior far too many times because of the money he brought it. He’s banking on Liberty not wanting to expose their own culpability and hypocrisy. Risky, but it may work, as long as Becki is willing to play along. She may eventually sour on being the focus of their ‘indescretions’.

He’s a greedy little fucker, that’s for sure.

I'm wondering if now that Liberty's attempt to buy him off doesn't seem to be working they might just call his bluff and contest the lawsuit - short term pain, yes, but a longer term gain in that he won't keep coming back to them.

There are few people that'd I'd be gleeful to see end up in the gutter, but Falwell is one of them.

And suing the Lincoln Project -- that's going to go so well. NOT !! Like Javanka, Jerry Falwell Jr is a public figure. The bar for lawsuits alleging defamation, libel, and slander is much, much higher in such a case.

Besides, does he really think he's going to convince a judge that LU or the LP actually did more damage to his reputation than he himself did? Unreal.

Maybe he got some legal advice from the president because threatening lawsuits is Trump Intimidation 101.

I don't think it will work so well for Jerry, though.
