I wonder if we'll get wedding pictures or if Chris won't put them up because of privacy.

Axton, Braxton, Daxton, Jaxton, Maxton, Zaxton….Yep, I'm over the X name phase too.  I work with someone who named her oldest son Braxton.  He's about 5-6 years old now.  A former co-worker of mine named his son Max, but spelled it "Maxx" like the store TJ Maxx.

Also over the phase of the "Ayden" names:  Ayden, Brayden, Cayden, Hayden, Jayden, Kayden, Zayden.

Also:  I've been a teacher for a long time, so I've seen it all as far as unusual names and creative spelling go.  It makes it hard to name your own child when you associate certain names you might like  to choose with a kid with that name that you couldn't stand.  One name in particular sets me on edge.  Believe it or not, I've known way too many obnoxious kids with this particular name.  It starts with a T, and that's all I'll say !

Years ago I worked for someone I shall identify only as The Bitch Manager From Hell (BMFH) and that name is forever ruined for me. Now her name has become quite popular and I cringe whenever I see that someone else of my kids' generation has given their beautiful baby daughter that name.

I have an issue with names also. Like someone I didn’t like growing up & then meeting someone with that name.

A young co-worker is married to a Braxton--he must have been truly hipster at birth! Another friend has relatives, not twins, but same parents, Kayden and Jayden....

I happen to love the name Molly, but my husband loathes it because there was a girl he really didn't like when he was growing up named Molly.  Not only is one of our nieces (his sister's daughter) named Molly, but we've had two wonderful cats named Molly.  I think our second born picked out the name for her cat.

Molly the Second was a great cat with a ton of personality.  She used to love to get up on top of the house even going so far as to sit on top of the chimney.  She also would sit in the hall waiting for us to pull down the attic stairs.  Molly's most famous feat, though, might be when she got arrested.  She'd been trapped by animal control and since she was not wearing her rabies tag, I had to pay $100 to bail her out of "jail."  She crossed the Bridge more than 20 years ago, but I still miss that cat.

I feel like Maxx spelled with two x’s sound like a porn star name.

My non-serious guess is Axel Maxwell. Or maybe Maxwell Ford Maxwell (insp. Ford Madox Ford). Chelsy probably feels fairly validated in her baby name choices by the third Anna joining the family though, with the no doubt exhaustive conversations being had on what to do about it.

Such vestiges of amazement from the Maxwells.   No surprises, just more WTFs.

I have known three Madeleines. One was a nun who was an evil teacher. Two were very pretty, very bright, very privileged women who were horrible to other people. I have yet to meet a Madeleine who wasn’t horrible. Not to say they’re all awful. Just the ones I met.

An hour from the headship?  Paying rent?  Steve must be clutching his pearls and doubling his fasting.

An apartment?! Not a debt-free house? First John marries a girl who wears pants and calls it dating instead of courtship (and has physical contact before marriage!), and now this? What on earth is the world coming to?

It had to happen eventually. Fundies May have great control over some of their kids. But they can’t control all of their adult children. That’s what happens when you have a lot of kids. You have a lot of personalities. And some of them aren’t going to do exactly what you want. No matter how much you weep and guilt them.

Don't celebrate yet. Jesse might be the first Maxwell son to build a house. That might explain renting at the moment. Things are getting interesting. Hands clapping for Mrs Craig for spilling the beans, because it really isn't a big deal...in our world.

It would seem a bit odd to me for Jesse to sell his rental house and rent an apartment. If he was going to rent for awhile I would think he might as well keep the rental as income, even if it only produced a small amount of income. Since the rental has been sold my assumption would be the apartment is temporary while they wait for a house (either still they are still looking, or maybe having something built?) or the apartment is condo that is purchased. My dad lives in a condo but most people refer to it as an apartment.

But it is very hard to make assumptions when it is the Maxwells we are talking about.

In any case... Kansas City is quite the distance for a Maxwell son!

@Tangy Bee I didn't see your reply when I first posted... but I agree, he could be building.

I wasn't a fan of the spelling either when the co-worker told me about it.  They wanted it to be different and they felt spelling Max with two xx's would give the name more oomph.    I prefer the name Max with one x myself,  but it's not my kid.  And they didn't stop there with the uniqueness, because  I learned later on they had a daughter and named her Abigail, but spelled it Abagail.

And they are Catholic and educated-the wife is a nurse with a college degree- so it's not just fundies with limited education that love khree8tyve spelling.

Some interesting details in that instagram, as well as the apartment news. The Craigs attended a post-wedding shower at the Maxwells -- no social distancing going on!  And Anna and Jesse will be attending a church called Countryside. Is that the one that the Maxwells have been attending while the Church of the Nursing Home is quarantined, or not? In any case, it doesn't sound like Anna and Jesse will be attending Steve's church. I wonder if he's even more displeased about that than the moving an hour away news.

Chelsy's post about the wedding doesn't add many more details in general, but it is a more polished post. Between the Bontragers and the Craigs, Steve is losing control of the family news. As long as Anna Craig's mother and sister keep posting on their social media and Chelsy and her family keep blogging and posting, he won't be able to present only his views.

Chelsy does say that Anna and Jesse met at the Bontrager family camp, three years ago. Did we know that? Do we reckon they started courting then, or a year or two later?

Anna’s sister posted a timeline of their relationship on ig but she only posted 1st meeting - engagement - marriage, not courting date.

I don’t think they started courting right after they met though, I’m thinking they started courting last year.

Rereading that blog post... Chelsy made it clear on her blog that Anna Craig is a long-standing friend of hers. Anna and her family were the musicians at Chelsy's wedding, and Jesse and Anna met at Bontrager family camp. So Anna already has a friend in her new family -- and if they weren't close friends before they soon will be -- and the two women will be natural allies. Jesse and John are close, so they're probably thrilled that their wives are close too. It's going to be really hard for Steve to exert much control over those families.

For example, Chelsy's already wearing pants, and we know that Anna's mother wears pants, so I suspect Anna will be wearing pants too (even if only for working out and chores.) If both Chelsy and Anna show up at a Max family function with their legs out and their husbands in full support, there's not much Steve can do.

Mrs Craig also said the name of their church. She said Countryside so I imagine that’s Countryside Christian Church in Mission, which looks like a burn of Kansas City.

Chelsy mentions that the couple met at her family camp and said “it’s a small world.” Oh Chelsy. You have no clue. It’s only a small world because your parents, the Craig parents, and the Maxwell parents say it is. You all have no choice but to look for mates in less than 1% of the US population. It’s no surprise Jesse is marrying one of your good friends.

Would a Maxwell go to a Disciples of Christ church?  There's also Countryside Bible and Countryside Baptist.
