Unless it's a Bible for children, with little text and lots of pictures, I don't believe any of that.

Even the brightest 5 year old are unable to read the Bible. To long strange sentences and usually little letters. It is enterely possible to force them reading that, if reading means pronouncing one syllabe after another with no sense at all.

Ridiculous, pretentious, lying fundies.

Also, they really should think twice about letting a young child read the Bible,  alone and unsupervised, if indeed she is some little genius who can. There are some very violent stories in the Bible, and have any of your ever read the Song of Solomon?  Not exactly G-Rated material there!

I’m still putting my money on a Staddon breaking the Maxwell daughter bubble. They are almost as boring as the Maxwells.

And the Maxwells are almost as beige as the Staddons.

Steve almost began to introduce a concept and nearly explained something about it.  Where's the other three quarters of his post?

No wonder they never made the lettuce pizza cutter post.  That would be telling us too much about a single topic.

Ahh a fundie triple sibling wedding! Just what this shitty year of 2020 needs to perk me up.

Yes, but...I hate to be a Debbie Downer - because I'd like to see the Maxwell sisters married as much as anyone, and marrying brothers might make their transition into married life a little easier...but did we learn nothing from the Smiths/Mortons? Multiple sibling intermarriage can turn ugly for a lot of people in a hurry if something goes sideways in one of those marriages.

(Speculation) I think Sarah does not want to marry. She basically does nothing now, not even cleaning or babysitting. Lives for her hobbies. Not saying she's happy (looks sad often) but marriage for a fundie woman means a lot of home chores and focus in the husband. In addition, it is enterely possible that she does not want any children now. She's been in the prison for so long that it can be a trauma to go out and change her life completely.

She's approaching her 40s. Fundies are strange, so I can be wrong, but my heathen single friends that age have become very picky. Women become less flexible, less submissive and focus on themselves. I think it's great, but it makes finding a husband more difficult. Sarah is another story but who knows, may be feeling that singleness is not necessary bad, and may even be a blessing.

I think Anna and Mary are willing to marry and very worried to become like Sarah. Probably Sarah had a hard time in the past, when she felt socially pressured to marry but wasn't able to. But now, social pressure is over and she can enjoy a quiet life.

There’s also no indication as to which sibling wrote that “nickel sheet”. Perhaps not the most important thing, but it would’ve taken all of three seconds to write the kid’s name and maybe how old they were. This is, of course, assuming that they categorised the nickel sheets by name as opposed to lumping them all together...

Yet another communication fail from Maxhell. The people who "write" books and used to make thei living giving "sessions". And "wrote" a book about conversation.

The Maxwells are prime examples of self-publication paired with extreme isolation. You begin to believe your own BS and think you're experts at - well, at anything.

The “thinking you know everything gene” runs strong in fundie circles. I wonder if it’s a defense mechanism because they have an inkling that they actually know very little. Fake it til you make it!

I do think some of it is a defense mechanism.  Curiosity about the world leads to open mindedness and continually learning.  if you're so afraid of learning anything that might change your view, no matter how small, then it's easier to cling to what you know and shun anything different.

This to me is the saddest part of their lifestyle.  The criticism, shame, guilt, endless boredom would be bad enough but stifling curiosity, imagination, and learning.  Such a childhood would have crippled me.

I know the Maxwell's hold themselves up as great conversationalists but I imagine there would be lots of awkward silences.

"What's your favorite verse" he asked her.

"Whatever your favorite verse is" she answered and so on to every question

"Bark Like a Dog" he said.... "Coming to America-like" the girl would do this:

I agree with you about Sarah not wanting to marry, @Melissa1977.  She's already raised children and Stevehovah's made her so afraid of men and quashed any hint of sex drive she had, she's got little reason to marry.  I feel that pretty much the same about Jana Duggar except she's still raising her siblings and JimBob has maybe not scared her away from guys to the same extent.

A comment asked Steve why it's called a nickel page.  Steve admitted that a small incentive was necessary to get the kids to do this boring project.

But Steve had to squelch even that tiny bit of reward; he said they quickly put an end to the payments.

Oh please let there be an event where Steve/Teri and Jill/David meet.  I promise I won't ask for anything else ever again.

They were all at a Duggar wedding - Jeremy and Jinger‘s I think - and sat a few rows away from each other. So I like to think they already have!

I still don't understand why he didn't just find another tenant to rent to. He could have just had the new people sign a 1 year lease and then sold his place closer to when he was ready to buy.

Unless it is just an excuse to move further away. If the rental house didn't sell or there wasn't another home ready nearby they could have faced a lot of pressure to stay close to the fathership.

Do we have any idea if the renters actually may have bought it?

Sarah could marry, although with Stevehovah doing the vetting, her  chances are very slim.  Sarah Mally and one of the Ah the Life sisters made to the alter at a very advanced age (for a fundie).

I feel for all the girls.  If they want to get married then Steve & Teri have a duty to get them involved to meet other young men their age.  I don’t think Steve quite gets that there is no perfect mate.  The goal is for your daughter to marry someone they love, like, and have common interests.  They need to treat their partner with respect.

A house and/or money is not going to make a marriage successful.  Let’s for example take a look at Donald Trump, Jeff Bezos or Elizabeth Taylor.

Given what their marriage looks like from the outside you'd think this was a lesson both Steve and Teri learned very well.

The hard way.

Steve believes he is the perfect mate. And Teri believes it too because Steve told her that’s what she believes.

New post up, Anna has completed her 10th Chemo session.  I am happy to hear that her specialist is having a baseline MRI done on her brain for future monitoring!

I'll say one thing for her, I've never in my life looked as contented and at peace as she is fighting this.  My mom was like that.  There are some people for whom the default is happy and content and faith is enough.  I envy that at times.

I just hope she still allows herself to rest when she needs to and not be back to business as usual once she's home.

I hope "the girls" continue to help when Anna comes home. Even their god can't make her the mother/teacher/housekeeper/wifely duty giving woman she was. She will need help for a while.

The Bon's posted Elliot's newborn pictures. For a minute (or more) I thought it was a Maxwell post ( I saw it throught Feedly) and was very confused when I saw this post here about Anna. I was very intrigued to see a picture of Axton without his hands being held down.

How the Sam Hill can Anna be content with calling Leavenworth home when she is back in the gorgeous part of the worl where she was born & raised?  Would that Chris had the desire & gumption to make a life for his family in WA.  Eastern KS is nice, but severely lacks ocean, mountains and temperate weather.

No wonder she looks serene, even with what she’s going through.

I hope for the best for them.

And that she is actually going to have it! I have no idea how Scamaritan is handling all this treatment and surveillance. I can imagine Scamaritan would rather they just get the cancer they know about and forget about other possibilities which could lead to other surgery/treatment being needed. I was also happy to see that some form of treatment will be continuing for many months. So it doesn't sound like this was just a quick "Do this 12 week treatment and then you're cured! So go home and make babies like usual."

I agree, @Bethy!  Brain cancer, whether it's primary or due to metastasis of cancer elsewhere in the body, is not something you want to fuck around with.   Doctors don't currently talk about brain cancer patients being cured, only long-term survivorship.  My sister lived for three years after she was diagnosed with glioblastoma (average is one year)  and my daughter was diagnosed with a brain tumor two years ago on New Year's Day.  Even though most of her tumor was removed. she'll have to have yearly MRIs for the rest of her life.
