Thank you @Hortense Peyrac for bringing our attention to Shiloh Photography in the Upcoming Babies thread! It seems like there are a huge number of fundies who are doing Shiloh's 100 Mile Challenge. The blogger's name is Rachel Leake, and I don't recognize that name, but she sure seems to know a lot of the fundies we've followed. She's a SAHD but seems to be thrilled with her life. Working backwards in time through this year and some of last I've spotted:

  • Hannah Girotti and her parents
  • The Palazzolos
  • Deborah from 11smiths (and her newest pregnancy)
  • Staddons
  • The Mieczkowskis
  • Plenty of Maxwells and kids
  • The Nelsons (a singing family? that used to be on Fundie Wiki)
  • Several Craig sisters
  • Elisha, Travis, and Kandace Ehlinger
  • The Neelys, including a "Daniel and Bethany" who look more like Daniel and Jessica Wilkes. Whoops!
  • Several Metzger sisters
  • The Deladuranteys, who were friends of the S'Mortons back in the old blog days
  • The Barrys?

There's also a headcovering family who I thought was interesting, named the Bullingtons.

The biggest question I have is: do these families all know each other? My guess is they know of each other and are denominationally similar, but other than what we know about they only interact at events like the Bible Bee. The social circles get ever smaller, though, as more and more people become related, so these distant families may start hanging out.

Can anyone else glean any more information from the blog? I'm still working on a compilation, but is there anyone I missed? Someone said there were Bontragers, but I've only seen Chelsy so far.

Her family runs the Garlands of Grace shop, which we've discussed from time to time.

A brief update on our Etsy suspension for those who have asked:

On 9/11 Etsy.com fully suspended Garlands of Grace for sharing God’s Word in our shop announcements. More recently, Etsy has chosen to partially lift the suspension, and rather place our shop under “Censorship”.

While Garlands of Grace may be accessed through direct link, our products and shop have been barred from Etsy’s search engine.  Etsy has let us know that Garlands of Grace will remain censored under partial suspension until the truth we have shared is amended or removed. We have made it clear to Etsy that we will NOT be removing the truth from our shop.

We are not certain what will happen  next, but we remain confident that God’s Word stands alone! It’s truth is the final authority for all creation and it has the power to change hearts desperately in need Christ’s saving grace!

We would like to sincerely thank each one of you for your love and support. Your kindness is something for which we truly praise the Lord!

With Love in Christ,
The Garlands of Grace Team

I hate to tell folks this, but it is possible to sell products like headbands WITHOUT throwing in a side order of religious extremism.

But then how would their customers know the TRUTH?

Never mind that the majority of their customers are in their religious circle - maybe a few degrees removed. "Head coverings" are not exactly a mainstream item in hot demand.

But, when you're a very special christian, you just gotta' be persecuted because how else would the world know that you are special and have all the answers?

Actually I'm glad they feature their beliefs so prominently. It makes it easier for me to avoid them. I'd hate to give my money to support any aspect of fundamentalism. In fact I'd suggest ETSY have a large red flag for any seller who insists on using their site as a religious platform. Make the flag big enough and bright enough that I can tell at a glance if I want to immediately head elsewhere.

What exactly did they post on their Etsy site that led them to being suspended? I have found a few Etsy shops where the shop owner, so to say, is religious and has posted bible quotes on their merchandise and used bible quotes as their logo. So, I just want to know what caused the suspension.

They were posting antigay stuff in opposition to Etsy's decision to recognize pride month.

Thank you! I didn't know that, I had a feeling it had to be something horrific, I just didn't know what.
