Curtis Bowers is a big conspiracy theorist so I imagine he thinks corona is overblown by the media and it’s no big deal.

Curtis Bowers also has (had?) serious enough respiratory problems that made them move away from Iowa to a more favorable climate. His condition, if anything, should make them extremely careful with everything covid related. But at least to me, the Bowerses seem to be one of the most self righteous fundies there are. They just seem more smug and holier than most others.

Yeah, I can't stand them...

Curtis Bowers has definitely gone complete covid/BLM/climate denier/global government conspiracy crazy on his podcast since April. (Disclaimer: I don't have the patience to listen, but the titles/summaries speak volumes)

However, many of these photos aren't recent at all; they're from events that took place during summer/fall 2019. I live in NJ and commuted into NYC before the pandemic, and they also felt very jarring to me, even after I realized when they were taken. But we've seen Curtis Bowers completely uproot his family whenever and wherever to accommodate his health issues, in line with the Bontrager-Bowers worship of the patriarchy/headship. I wouldn't be surprised if privately they're taking precautions about the pandemic while he publicly stirs up resentment/outrage with conspiracy talk. Using COVID-19 to promote an agenda, if you will. ?

Thanks much for the timeline clarification; when they talked about "opportunities this year"  I assumed that they meant in 2020, but I guess they mean in the last 12 months, since they so rarely post now that they married off their girls.  So they manage to pretend on their blog that THEY are living a blissful pandemic free normal life because of Guns N Jesus.

Touring through several states without wearing face masks and most likely not social distancing, and then going to a family reunion with 60 people in attendance seems like a great way to spread the virus around. Hopefully no one gets it, but they are really playing with fire. They must really not care or not think it is really an issue any more to think they should have a family reunion in the middle of a pandemic.

They could have “gotten to know each other” and broke it off without any of us ever knowing it. The Bontragers never announce relationships until an official engagement. And Nathan is the quietest adult Bates child when it comes to social media.
