Alabama students holding "covid-19" parties.

Students in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, who have been diagnosed with COVID-19 have been attending parties in the city and surrounding area as part of a disturbing contest to see who can catch the virus first, a city council member told ABC News on Wednesday.

Tuscaloosa City Councilor Sonya McKinstry said students have been organizing "COVID parties" as a game to intentionally infect each other with the contagion that has killed more than 127,000 people in the United States. She said she recently learned of the behavior and informed the city council of the parties occurring in the city.

She said the organizers of the parties are purposely inviting guests who have COVID-19.

"They put money in a pot and they try to get COVID. Whoever gets COVID first gets the pot. It makes no sense," McKinstry said. "They're intentionally doing it."

I think if they want to catch it that badly they should volunteer in hospitals and do cleaning in areas where positive patients have been treated, or of equipment used by positive patients. While being housed in secure dorms with limited access to the rest of the community.

Apparently, Mother Nature is taking "weeding out the dumb ones" to heart.  Good riddance, I say.

If anyone pulled that grocery store tantrum shit at the store where my son is busting his ass daily (and because of all that contact with the public I have not seen him in 3 1/2 months), I might have to mask up and go down and KICK THEIR ASS.  What a brat.

If scientists wanted to as long as I get a nice suite at a hotel for the duration they could expose me to the virus and use the results to help with the vaccine development.

I had a checkup yesterday and my doctor did not think that I would be at risk of it getting really bad - that likely it would be mild to moderate in my case.  Of course I'm not going to act all stupid and go out of my way to catch it.  (At times I wish I would get it just so I could get it over with and if the worst came to pass I'd be upstairs playing euchre with my grandparents, aunt, and uncle again).  

And I'm glad I don't work at the Mart of Wal these days.  It's bad enough during normal times but now we have this.

Texas woman spits on counter after being told to wear a mask

FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) — A Texas woman became verbally abusive and spit on the counter of a 7-Eleven after being told she needed to wear a face mask in order to make a purchase.

In a video posted on Facebook, the cashier at the Fort Worth store appears to be telling the woman she cannot buy the beer and candy because she is not wearing a mask.

The video shows the woman arguing with the cashier, saying she has a right in America not to wear a mask. The clerk points at a sign on the door that tells customers they’re required to do so.

In Tarrant County, customers are required to wear masks inside of businesses to prevent the spread of coronavirus. Businesses that do not require customers to wear face masks are in violation of the order.

Videos of people refusing to wear a mask in public places and reacting aggressively have become common on social media.

My cousin, who has at least one autoimmune disease and is a cancer survivor, and told me last week she has a tumour that's making her look 3 months pregnant, but they won't know if it's benign or not until surgery, just posted on Insta:

"COVID, I AIN'T SCARED.

This was a few weeks ago(before the report of “corona parties“), but my former supervisor posted a meme on FB saying “If COVID-19 had existed in the 80’s, our parents would have made us play with the kid who had it so they could get that shit over with.”

The professor who is teaching my on-line course gave us a heads up that since she and her husband traveled to Texas, and socialized, and went to a buffet, and were notified that a relative has now tested positive for COVID_19, that she is in strict quarantine for two weeks awaiting her test results.  The course, "Pandemics!"  ? 

A gentleman in our Zoom course said, "Well, I'm not sure you are the right person to be teaching this course."  The rest of us were speechless.  At least we have the comfort of knowing it's an on-line course.  Sigh. ?

Funny, I made it to my mid-60s without ever getting arrested. I'm trying to figure out why . . . let's see . . . I never trashed a store while screaming obscenities?

(I know, it's sadly not the case that everyone who gets arrested has done anything wrong, and I'm sure there's plenty of anti-Semitism in some police forces. But I don't think arrests of nice, calm Jewish women who have done nothing wrong are running rampant in Arizona or any other part of the US).
