Alex Jones was arrested for DUI

Alex Jones was arrested for DUI. He is telling his sheep that he was pronounced not guilty because he blew a 0.079. I hope this is the beginning of the end for him.

But this is the much more interesting part.  Alex Jones has not been married to wife #2 for very long, maybe two or three years? And I think they (sadly) have a baby.

An arrest affidavit for Jones says a sheriff’s deputy responded at 10:10 p.m. Monday to a western Travis County residence for a disturbance reported by Jones’ wife.  His wife had told the dispatcher they were in a verbal fight that had been physical earlier in the day, the affidavit says. So heavy alcohol abuse, and physical and verbal abuse.  Sounds like day drinking, and a day-long fight that escalated in a sushi restaurant that evening.   Wonder how the pre-nup is structured. 

I was reading a piece today in the Austin paper that noted that Alex has retained the same law firm, (Minton,  Burnet, Basset and Collins),  that handled his (very, VERY expensive) divorce.  

Detour for some background on the lawyer.  The name Minton caught my eye.  David Minton is Jones' lawyer; David Minton's father Roy Minton defended a young woman named Gabriela Nestande in 2013 or so in a case of vehicular homicide.   This case was extremely high profile in Austin and the outcome pissed me off, as it did many, many other people.

Gabriela was shit-faced drunk after a night of heavy drinking when she plowed into and killed a young woman, Courtney Griffin, walking home or maybe out for a run,  in the wee hours of the morning.  Nestande didn't stop, drove on and parked her BMW in plain view at her boyfriends apartment, went to bed,  got up the next day, borrowed a car and went to work.  A homeowner found the body of Coutney in his driveway the next morning and called police.  Nestande didn't bother to notice fragments of clothes and who knows what else in the shattered headlight and windshield of her car, but somebody else did and called the police.  
Nestande claimed that she looked down at her phone alarm just at the moment of impact and didn't know she'd hit a person, or that was the defense cooked up by Roy Minton. 

Anyway, Roy Minton mounted such an effective defense that the jury sentenced Nestande to a 10-year suspended sentence (no prison).  The judge was so incensed that she added 6 moths jail time. 

My point is that David Minton (I think his dad Roy may be retired)  is an extremely expensive defense lawyer who very good at what he does.  A minor DWI is a piece of cake; this won't be a problem for Alex Jones. 

What IS a problem for him are the numerous lawsuits against him related to his Sandy Hook lies, and his suspension from multiple social media platforms -- which cut down substantially on his audience and income.

The lies from Sandy Hook are the biggest problem. Those are civil suits so he will likely not go to prison for them. He probably won't go to prison for his first DUI. But, it could add up if he continues to break the law. He is one person I think should spend the rest of his life in prison for all the harm he has done to innocent family's. Harm that made him lots of money. That won't happen, so I hope for small victories.
