The Wissmann Family

I was looking around and it seems there hasn’t been a Wissmann family thread in some time. So I thought I would start a new one. The Wissmanns fly under the Radar because they don’t do anything crazy like Jill Rod and they don’t have a tv show like the Duggars or Bateses. But they are weird. The weirdest thing they do is brother/sister picture poses that look like they are a couple. I pointed this out on FJ awhile back and they haven’t publicly posed like that as much since then. They are typical fundies because their siblings are all BFFs. They always seem so happy and thrilled to be together. They have a farm and the unmarried kids still work on the farm throughout the year. The girls wear jeans and get dirty. There are 5 girls and 2 boys left at home. Only one is underage. That’s Charissa. She’s 13 and Gloria Wissmann had her at 47(!) The oldest still at home is Elizabeth. She’s 30. But don’t worry. 2 of her sister’s married in their 30s so she still has time.

Recently the Wissmanns went on the big singing tour. It’s pretty similar to the Bontrager tour. Likely because they are both farming fundie families and don’t have a lot of farm work in the winter and like to travel to warmer places while singing at churches. On February 9th, they were in singing in a church in NC. Trace Bates and his good friend Logan Smith went to see the Wissmanns sing. Then this morning, the Wissmanns performed in a church in TN and Logan and Trace attended yet again. There are three Wissmann sisters close to Trace and Logan’s age. I’m guessing either Trace or Logan is interested in one of the Wissmann girls. It seems a long way to drive to see them twice in a month just to sing. Unless someone is interested.

Feel free to add more info about the Wissmanns on this thread!

Here is their blog. They update regularly.

That was interesting.  I'm wondering when the country is going to reach a saturation point with all these touring Christian family music groups...

One thing I did notice is that they're better than the Rods.  I don't think I've heard a group yet that are worse than the Rods.

Jill needs to take a close look at how this family presents themselves:

1.  The family has a healthy glow and does not appear malnutrition.
2.  They appear clean cut: Light application of makeup - conservative yet modern dress.
3.  The family appears wholesome.

When I look at Jill’s clan the kids look like they need a revamp of their diet, haircuts, a shower, and a good nights sleep.  Jill take note: Your current marketing strategy is not working.

She’s the only fundie we talk about on FJ like this. The Bons, Bowerses, Wissmanns, and Maxwells all presented much better than Jill.

This group of siblings looks very much alike. The Bates and Duggars seem to have more variety. One of the few interesting things to observe about a large sibling set.

Thank you so much @JermajestyDuggar for making this thread! The Wissmanns are interesting because somehow they simultaneously manage to be friendly, creepy, and boring. They present this ultra-happy family image, while being completely enmeshed and emotionally incestuous. On the subject of boring, I couldn't sit through one of the Lifestyled Sisters live chats; it was all repetitive questions about "what's your favorite thing to do with your family?" "where do you live?" "tell me a fact about yourself!" They don't really do much other than farm, sing, and take snuggly photos with their siblings.

Another interesting point is that many (most?) of the married children married rather late by fundie standards. It could be a consequence of their enmeshment, or they could actually be living satisfying lives at home. Not sure. I'm hoping for #2 because that's got to set them up for better mental health than other fundies whose life begins at marriage.

Trace looks so stiff in his recent photo with the Wissmanns that I'm pretty sure he's interested in one of the younger daughters and is learning to cope with stricter purity standards than his own family would hold him to. I'd guess they're no-touching at this point. Hannah also posted about contentment earlier this week, which would suggest that either Susanna or Alaythia is getting to know someone and she feels left out.

Wasn't Trace getting to know a girl? She was in the family gatherings. Another failed courtship for a Bates boy or one can assume that he dates different girls like a heathen?

Oh ya that’s been over for a month or more. They didn’t say when it was exactly over. But it’s done. His heart pieces must be lost forever.

The Wissmann boys haven’t married super late. They were all in their 20s. It’s just the girls that marry later. I think Stephen could get married in the next year or two. Along with Elizabeth.

I noticed Trace standing stiff and wondered if it was because he was being the “wingman” for Logan and uncomfortable, or he was stiff because he likes one of the girls. If Trace liked one of them, it would be Hannah. She has gorgeous blue eyes and long blonde hair. I can’t help but notice how superficial some young fundies can be.

@JermajestyDuggar, the some of the Bates boys seem especially vain and shallow. I wouldn't be surprised if Trace was as courting. My money was on him rather than Nathan or Lawson.

Lawson is so vain it’s going to take him forever to look away from himself long enough to notice a girl he might like.

And Nathan just seems less outgoing than some of his brothers. Maybe he has a hard time talking to girls he doesn’t know very well.

If you look at Loren and Gloria, they have some similar features. When fundie parents kind of look alike, all their kids do too. Pris and Pecan are a great example. When two fundie parents look very different, the kids all look very different. A Good example would be the Rods.

I too am no-touching at this point, thanks to Covid-19. I like to think I'm in an extreme fundy courtship with all of humanity.

Isn't it a bit early for Trace to be rebounding from Chaney? Don't heart pieces needs some timeto heal?

That’s partly why I was thinking Trace is the wingman for Logan. Fundies have rebounded quickly before. But Trace might need a little time. Logan’s younger sister (Lundyn) is in a relationship with Jake Wilson. Maybe he is feeling some pressure to be in a relationship as well.

Another tidbit to add about the wissmanns is that little Charissa has always seemed older than her actual age. She is 13 and her next oldest sibling is 18. She’s never had a sibling her age to play with. I think she’s always acted older because of this. When you look at her in pictures, you would never guess she was a 13 year old fundie girl.

Susanna Wissmann just completed her first solo flight. The other pilots in the Wissmann family are Josiah and Nathanael. I don’t think any of the other sisters are interested. I hope Susanna meets Jessica Richardson. I think Jessica would be a good mentor for her.

Extreme pettiness here but- I just saw their St. Patrick's Day meal post. It's nice that they celebrate but they mention 'authentic' foods from the country they are focused on. I do not recognise a single thing on that table as 'authentically' Irish. Actually most of them I just don't recognise at all.

I will now go and hang my head in shame for such BEC.

A couple of comments on the Wissmans

* they are all fit and eat well (unlike some fundies - looking at you Jill Rodriques

* Rachel and Beth sometimes post recipes on their instagrams and I'd eat all their food - it looks well cooked and they use a lot of fresh, home grown vegetable but I'd need a bucket of hot sauce and garlic if I attempted any of the savoury recipes

* I think they are all MAGA folk - one of the younger boys posted an instagram of himself and friends all wearing mega hats

* the girls all got married when relatively older compared to other fundie families

Nate seems to be a big trump lover. He’s only 18. The rest of them likely voted for trump but they aren’t too open about it. Nate seems to enjoy flaunting his love for trump.

Andrew and Kori just had their 2nd child. They were married for quite a number of years before they had their first child.

Bethany's husband is Dan Beasley, brother of infamous Josh Beasley who "accidentally" shot his first wife dead and spent some time in prison. Dan works for the HSLDA, a notoriously evil organization in the guise of "homeschooling rights" (aka parental rights at the expense of children's rights. A fine example being HSLDA defending the rights of convicted pedophiles and domestic abusers to keep on homeschooling their children in total isolation).

I love baseball but I'm dreading the new season because the White Sox ownership is THE FUCKING WORST. I watched Dominican League Baseball (Lidom!) over the winter and fell in love with their joy, spirit, and exuberance. The broadcasts were in Spanish and my Spanish is pretty weak but I loved catching phrases and repeating them. Bombe! I'm sad about MLB and Commissioner Idiota's busywork rules. But I love baseball, always and forever.
I guess I don't have a point. Just bitching. Te amo mucho, Lidom!

      Happy International Women's Day!

Humanity may have some work to do, to improve gender equality, but I was glad to hear that France has taken an important step to protect healthcare for women (and people of other genders who can get pregnant).

Feeling ragey this morning. I have a doctor's appointment this afternoon in the hope of getting help for an ongoing injury. I went to a (different!!) doctor late last year who completely blew me off. He wouldn't do diagnostic testin, he refused to send me to a specialist, and he just told me to "take it easy" and "take ibuprofen." I'm hopeful for today's appointment but I'm also feeling a SEVERE amount of rage at that doctor from last year!

Well, the rash is back with a vengeance. It never completely cleared up. I saw the derm yesterday and they did another swab and yup, raging infection again, still? It is definitely strep skin infection. I am getting so damn tired and run down from this. Who the f would immagine being hospitalized freaking TWICE for a rash?

My niece is going to be a seat filler at this year's Academy Awards.  Seat fillers are asked to wear tuxedos regardless of sex/gender.  If you see a pretty young woman with very curly hair, it could be my niece.
