As tone deaf as some of the duggars and their spouses are I don't think any of them are so tone deaf as to not realize what people mentioning Nurie and Nathan were after. I really think 99% of the people who mentioned them on her instagram posts were hate followers just trying to stir the pot. Which 1) why do people do this it never does anything but prove to them that theyre the persecuted ones and 2) if I knew my brother's future mother in law was that star struck and obsessed with my in laws (enough to emphasize my brother's relationship to my in laws) I would be mighty hesitant to make a public post that she could see.

It's their 12th anniversary and there are posts on multiple duggars IGs including Anna's. I'm guessing that they feel comfortable enough doing that.

Anna has some pics of Mackynzie and Meredith playing giant Jenga. She always has the girls’ hair styled so nicely, yet it seemed way too formal for the setting she was trying to depict. And Mac’s outfit would’ve suited my grandma back in 1985. Velour shiny top and velvety knee skirt. Even Dithy’s skirt was too old for a 4 year old. Just let them be kids, not models. Way too contrived, Anna.

The girls look cute but WAY too staged. No way that kids would genuinely play like that.

I agree.

I've noticed Anna is starting to use a more consistent orange-ish-instagram-filter-look and wonder if she is aiming for a more curated feed (like Josie Bates). Maybe an effort to bring in $$.

I think Meredith outfit was very cute. I don't like velour at all, but both girls looked like in a children fashion magazine. I wonder if Anna looks for attracting brands, but if that is the case she must be in denial. She may have forgotten what her husband did, but he will be always an abuser for the audience!

Another explanation about the beautiful hairdoa and clothes she makes the girls wear is that it's her only hobbie. She's not in the show, she has a limitated social life, probably very poor marital life too. And her homeschooling, while she makes an effort, can't be very elaborated. So she stays at home, playing dolls with her girls.

Since they don't appear as much on TV anymore as Anna would have liked I can totally see her trying to get a fancy SM account. I'm just not sure wether she is willing to put real work and effort into it.

I’m sure I read Josh lost his latest lawsuit around the property with the dubious title search? I can’t find the link now but I think costs were awarded against him. So Anna will have to ramp up her S M presence to try and bring some cash in.

I am sure i read that on one of the duggar snark fb pages too, I did wonder why it did not come up here also.

From a dodgy memory he did loose fairly large and had to pay back the house and the other person's legal costs. No wonder they sold their house quick smart to get rid of anything Josh could be sued for.  Josh will never be allowed anything in his name again. Too much of an indemnity risk.

Are they still trying to push the little Duggar girls singer thing? Meredith and Maryella are in the hopper. Building a new brand? Or did that go the way of all the pets?

well, I get caught up in the speculating thing about Anna, too, and I think you are spot on. She came from where she came from and became an instant celeb not only in their circle but on TV when she married Josh. Then came FRC and she was in Washington, DC, featured a lot on the show, hobnobbing with important people, getting non-TLC media attention, going to actual restaurants, wearing nice clothes, meeting nice fake friends and even going to a public library lol! And then boom! Not only the teenage scandal, which she may or may not have known about and may or may not have really understood, but then the porn sites, back in the Big House, no important friends, nowhere to go (except her brother, but she may have perceived that as further humiliation and a taking him up a violation of whatever TF she believes)--anyway, Anna's courtship and marriage looks to me like a slow ride up the start of the roller coaster and then--crash. Totally dependent on JB and Jchelle, and always looked to me like she is a Jchelle wannabe anyway, and now you've got 5 kids, no shot at personal autonomy, much less independence, and a gaggle of sisters and sisters-in-law who are creating actual lives for themselves. So not surprised she is digging deeper into the rigidity and keeping on keeping on. She boxed herself in.

Not for the real die hard fans. There are some who I used to keep in pretty steady contact with during my leg humper days and they still swear up and down that it wasn't that big of a deal, he didn't really hurt anyone, and he was just a kid at the time. ?

I'm so relieved to have managed to get some perspective on just how toxic these families are.

It's weird rationalising, isn't it? If he had had a girlfriend at that age and had consensual handholding, kissing, touching up, etc, that would be awful, would risk his reputation, his soul, forever lose a 'piece of his heart' that he can't give to his future wife. Damaged for life.
But to do similar things to a non-consenting victim is no big deal, he was just a kid, water under the bridge, etc.

For me is a completely twisted world. They can have very few relationships outside the family, so the very common games between small children of "I will show you mine if you show me yours" Are off the table. The teenagers are not permitted to explore sexuality in a slow paced environment  , where you start holding hands, progress to kissing, petting and then sex. They directly go to being married and expected to kiss first during their lives and have sex a couple of hours later. I might be rare but I have always loved a few long hours of kissing before going the whole way, everything else feels unnatural for me. So yes, in a completely twisted world where the desired rythm of a lot of people is simply off the table, the only opposite sex people you talk to are your siblings and the "boys will Be boys" idea is engraved in your brain and women must behave modestly in order to do not arouse men, then yes, in that twisted world he is a minor and so ir does not matter.

I could see it both way, the Duggars (as in not just Anna but Jb and Michelle too) decide that is better for her to be married at 19 around presumably the same time as her cousins or keeping her home to help with the younger Ms

I'm not so sure, I think that in the fundie world he has been forgiven, and most likely everybody has forgotten his past, after all how many scandals similar to his do they hear? I think it had seemed a bigger scandal to us because differently on what they think outside their circle nobody thinks boys are boys and can go on, on molesting their sisters multiple times like it is nothing. I feel like I'm not really clarifying what I mean, let me try again; Josh's actions in the fundie world are probably not a big thing since he his a boy, and "boys will be boys" or so. As usual for them, his action reflects mostly on the woman's (girls) he molested they were eventually the damage good, so his actions aren't probably a big problem for his daughter's marriage prospect. Plus the molesting was a thing of the past when he was young and he asks for forgiveness in their community is all good. What maybe could impair more is the cheating a bigger problem for them (?) but even that is an old misstep, all in all, I think probably Josh past will not represent a big issue for suitors

I don’t think Josh will be a hindrance as such - as others have pointed out there are plenty who are prepared to overlook his behaviour because of his ‘sweet’ family. I doubt you’ll get any would be Bens or Jeremys engineering meeting them with a view to court though - they are not on TV  and don’t  have any money other than whatever JB tosses at them or Anna makes with her insincere Instagram selling. She’ll probably be hooked up with someone from the ATI circuit.

Bill Gothard taught that sexual assault was the victim’s fault, so yes... They are very quick to say “boys will be boys” and “he was just a kid who didn’t know any better.”  The cheating thing was also probably blamed on Anna not fulfilling his “needs,” as well. It’s so disgusting. Growing up fundie, I’ve seen so many men get away with stuff like this and no one says a word—it’s the victims who have to pay the consequences. And everyone else pats themselves on the back for “forgiving”!!!!

My hope for Mackynzie is that whoever she marries will get her far away from her parents. Unfortunately that might be too much to ask. 

ETA: In other news, Josh failed to appear at court and lost the real estate lawsuit. Unable to get a link at this time, sorry.

I hope that Mackynzie can reach out to Anna's more worldly siblings if she realizes that there is more in life than getting married young and starting to produce baby after baby. I don't see Anna being supportive of a non-fundie lifestyle for any of her kids since she apparently drenched herself even more in the koolaid after the her husband's scandals.
