Lori Alexander 75: Lori Imagines the Evils Caused by Contraception

@Marly I can also recommend Avene . They also have make- up for sensitive skin, their mascara is the only one I can wear without getting itchy eyes. And I severly love their thermal spring water spray, I carry a small can in my purse everywhere I go in summer, so refreshing when sweating. I don't know if this is common practise over the pond, but here Avene is only available in pharmacies and you can get a sample of the product for free to test if you react to it. And as far as I know, they produce in France and fall under the EU- guideline of no animal tests in cosmetics. And they are free of microplastic.

Atopic dermatitis here... Try St Ives Green tea scrub, that's quite gentle

There's this blog from a Harvard educated dermatologists who often recommends inexpensive creams and cosmetics as well

http://alittlebitoflacquer.blogspot.com/?m=1

Go to the pharmacy and ask them to whop up ultrabasic/ultrasic 70% olive oil (my mother used that when I was a kid) , if my skin really gets cracked I use 100% she butter (sort of waxy consistency)

I tolerate Neutrogena and Avene quite well apart from Aveeno (my favourite) and lush (pricy though cruelty free) stuff I've mentioned before.

Had some bad experience with body shop products, plus they've been bought by nestle. Got some Kiehls handcream samples and they're awesome but so fucking pricy.

Kiehl’s ultra facial cream is the only one I can use besides The Body Shop’s aloe.  The Kiehl’s works slightly better.
I used to use only The Body Shop shower gels and lotions but the scents are getting trendy and they barely make any of the sensitive skin aloe stuff anymore. Plus no stores left I my area.  Korres Natural works pretty well for me but it’s only online as well.  I used Lavanila for awhile but they’ve discontinued half their line as well.

So frustrating to have sensitive skin.

I guess I don’t understand the line of thinking... you should be attractive to your husband or else he’ll cheat, but then she throws taking care of herself out the window. Is she trying to get rid of him? Maybe? Idk

*Young* women need to be attractive, they have to birth all the little soldiers of God.  Can't have the husband spilling that seed and creating *gasp* bastard children.  Old women get a pass, they aren't useful as baby machines anymore so they don't count.  By the time they hit the non-childbearing years, if he is still chasing it (out of strict need obviously because he can't control himself) then she's got to deal with it. It's not supposed to be enjoyable for her remember?  She's at that point where he's probably leaving her alone and it's socially acceptable to let herself go.  The more she lets go, the more insurance she has that he isn't going to come pawing at her.  If he steps out, who cares?  He's old so there's only so many who will entertain him and they've been married for so long she turns her head and say's "better the whore of Babylon than me"..."I'm righteous, I fulfilled my duty.  This woman is clearly a sinner, I'll just say I'm praying for them while I relax in my leather recliner."

I really believe this is their dynamic.  I think Ken is visiting the queen's bedchamber less and less and she's thrilled about it.   They do all the surface things to make it look good but at home they are ships passing in the night.  It seems to be a perfect set up....she has her blog and her chat room to keep her busy ....he works and sits in his private room watching all the sports he wants, eating all the snacks.

Well Ken did say in his wall o'text post (the one on marriage, not the one scolding pastors)...that intimacy can be achieved in only 7-10 minutes.  It used to be 10 minutes, but maybe it's down to 7 minutes now that Lori's grooming habits (or lack there of) have changed.  Next he'll be saying 5-6 minutes.

I can't believe this has been on my mind, but even if you don't smell that much, after a day or two everyone has a normal body scent that gets stronger.  And even if  you don't "stink" per se, I know myself I wouldn't feel "fresh" not the ladies parts, not any of the parts.  Showering daily helps me wake up and feel fresh even if I don't have to shave everyday, etc.  I just don't get it. It really grosses me out.

That’s exactly what I was thinking! I have no doubt Ken sits in his office and watches porn. The way he tries to normalize and justify porn among Christian men just says he watches it on a regular basis.

You know, I don't know if I can say for certain if I think Ken looks at porn or not, but just like Lori is obsessed with women's bodies, he does seem preoccupied with it and even stated in his long winded post the other day that when a marriage is in crisis and the man is at fault in marriage "it's mostly because of porn"

I want to see the studies.  No doubt porn is an issue with a lot of people but is it REALLY the major problem?   I know a fair amount of people who divorced (and many more who stayed together)...and while you can never be 100% sure what goes on in another person's house, I can saw with certainty that porn wasn't even an issue.  EVER.

That's not to say it can't be....but like everything else -- they stereotype everything. For example:

Man at fault = 100% porn addiction (which is probably actually wife's fault for denying him)

Working woman = promiscuous, money-loving, man-hating Jezebel, hates her kids (if she has them)

Stay at home mom = virtuous, meek, mom whose kids love her

Also Working woman =  loves money especially to fund her furs, cruises, world tours, designer clothes

Families with 2-3 kids = doesn't trust God to provide otherwise would have 15 + kids.

Curious, I went to her blog:

It got numerous responses from some real sickos who have had CPS on them.  In one case, three times!  Seriously?  Makes me sick.   These are the kind of people Lori attracts  Says it all for me.

Forbidding spanking is the state saying parents aren’t in charge of children. It’s funny, they won’t let parents spank, but if a belligerent 20 year old, who was never spanked, challenges a police officer, these same progressives have no problem with him being killed. Wretched and malevolent monsters is what these snakes are.

From the comments of that post. I actually had to stop and re-read that because I couldn't get it to work in my head. I'm not sure how the commenter did. I mean, what? Aren't just of those who identify as progressive AGAINST excessive force by police??

I agree with all of this.

In the past, when Lori posted about porn and Ken commented, he usually put a disclaimer. Something like “If a man looks at porn (which 99.8 % of them do on occasion)....”. He seemed to always want to give himself an out, reminding readers that even “Christian” men view porn on occasion. I always had the feeling he wanted to avoid a lie. If he was ever caught, he could say “I didn’t say I NEVER looked at porn...”

We may not know for certain, but I think we can assume that it's probable.  Kennie-boy is very likely judging other men by himself.

Which is what Lori does all the time too. Each if them is so self centered, oniy one reference point is possible - themselves.

I really wish we knew Ken’s true role in their lousy marriage. I believe he has a lot of skeletons in his closet. For some reason, Lori is happy taking all the blame for their train wreck of a marriage.

Long ago, Lori commented about something and referred to holding Ken accountable for certain things. She coyly wrote something like “We still have some secrets.”  That just made me more curious.

Can someone who is not blocked go post one of Melanie’s naked pictures on Lori’s post about how godly she is? And maybe the more recent one where you can see her nipples through her dress?

Of course, she and her fan girls had a justification for the posters who pointed out this is Trump’s 3rd marriage, so I’m sure they have one for that, too. (Spoiler: the divorces were the women’s fault! Shocking, huh?)

Try the lush soap bars. I only have one for my hands “miranda" cause they tend to crack up in winter which sucks when you have to disinfect them with alcohol every couple of minutes

Big fan of the massage bar with the pink pearls too (just like solid body butter)

Lasts for 24h + has a nice subtle smell

Omgosh my possum loving heart that’s adorable! ? I want one!
and thanks for the suggestions! I’ve heard good things about Lush

This evening Lori has become a pollster, with the accompanying text:

When they come out with the Corona virus vaccination, will you be getting it? There is some good news concerning the virus: "What is interesting to note is that children seem less vulnerable to infection and appear to have milder symptoms than adults. There have been NO reported deaths in children 0-9 years of age."

So far it's at 40% yes, 60% no. It will be interesting to see what she does with the results of this oh-so-scientific poll.  :my_dodgy:

I too have eczema. It’s on my thighs mostly. It’s not too bad right now but it’s been way worse. I had it when I was little (my father and brother have had it too) and then it disappeared for several years, before coming back six years ago. It’s mainly in patches, when I went to the GP to get a steroid cream prescription it was described as discoid eczema. Luckily it’s not really affected by scented shower gels. I’ve used Aveeno stuff in the past.

Has anyone experience with the face theory products?

They seems to have really good reviews and are cruelty free.

on top of my very dry neurodermitis skin I'm still prone to breakouts...

Things that didn’t happen for 1000. Dearest goodness, this isn’t God’s Not Dead. Many universities have a strong religious presence from several different religions. CRU is still a big thing at universities. Many professors can’t be bothered to harass students about their faith. Those that do should probably be reported as there are already laws in place for religious freedom and discrimination. I’m gonna guess many of these people haven’t big in the job market for a while. Many jobs that pay better either require a four year degree or a ridiculous amount of experience because they don’t want to train people. I’m not gonna get started on how I feel about the employment process... let’s just say I think many companies make the process confusing and are discriminatory towards those in poverty. We can’t just walk into a company and ask for a job

I made the mistake of posting on Facebook that my sinuses were acting up and I felt a cold going on.  I was told to take elderberry syrup, some weird concoction of apple cider vinegar and honey and cinnamon, plain apple cider vinegar (apparently that stuff will cure anything!), put Vicks Vapor Rub on my feet and cover with socks (huh?), and several other strange things.  No one mentioned Plexus though which disappointed me.

So what did I do?  Took a dose of Nyquil and went to bed.  My sinuses were better in the morning.

A teacher at one of the buildings I work at friended me on social media ostensibly to use dm to get hold of me when she needs a sub since she prefers me.  And she has done that.
But she sells Plexus.  ?‍♀️

Haha! So true - though for me it was just Catholic Day School :) I even chose my school over the other girls's school down the road. I was already an atheist, but I'd taken Communion classes at the Catholic school, which was a lovely school (even after 7 years there as an open atheist, lol!) The other school was just obnoxious in every way.

Have to say, though, that other than compulsory RE GCSE and through to 18, and the occasional mass, and of course, daily assemblies involving prayer - all of which I knew in advance of going there - there was zero pressure. Even general RE was about other religions mostly. Reasonable, since we had a lot of Hindu and Muslim girls, and lots of Baptists etc. Only GCSE RE was focused on Christianity. I did have some problems with that, asmany ethics questions were debated "from the Christian/Catholic" perspective, though as they always required pro and con arguments, it was OK. And interesting.

There was never any question of not teaching about birth control, abortion etc. The nuns who founded my school are about as liberal as Catholic nuns can be, but also a lot of our teachers were "nones" too. Noone batted an eyelid when I turned up with my "Zarathustra", or science articles about the origin of life, the universe, and everything. Then again, Catholics, oddly as it seems to me given their interference in people's sex lives, opposition to condoms etc, seem to generally be a fairly liberal bunch. Maybe I've spent too long online reading about the single-issue US rep. voters, and on FJ reading about the many and varied extremist Baptist flavours? My best friend growing up was a Baptist, her dad was the minister. Nothing sexist or homophobic about them at all - frequent women preaching, some gay people, not teetotal. I always thought they were extremely liberal - more so than Catholics, or Anglicans at the time. Obviously, I'd never heard of SBs or IFBs then, oh happy days!
