What does he want?  A medal?  He now says he reported someone anonymously?  I don't believe him.  He's just doing damage control.

It appears that the diocese is backing him.  Their statement was:  "Because the church entrusts to each pastor the duty of teaching, sanctifying, and governing his parish, the daily pastoral and administrative decisions are made at the local parish level..."
