@CarrotCake Some people might call the bottom one a knitted hat or a woolly hat. Mostly people (the ones I know at least) would just say hat, unless there was a particular need to be more specific.

In (parts of) the southern US, the knit winter hat isn’t called a toboggan. As a southerner living in New England, I just call it a hat, or a knit hat if I need to be specific.

In cCanada, the first is a hat and the second is a tuque. But a tuque is a type of hat.

As a Southern American, I'd also sometimes  call the second one a wool cap/knitted cap. I'd never call hat #1 a cap, though.

 

In Si-adjacent news--can you imagine how different Marjorie Jackson's life would be now if she and Josiah had gotten married? I predict she will last at the Family Research  Council longer than Josh did.

Duggar Data posted wild news. People think based on Jessa's fall video that Lana and Dwain had another baby this year.

I'm both shocked and unsurprised. Shocked because they've kept it so quiet. Unsurprised, because she's only 44 and I had suspicions she might be pregnant. 

As for Marjorie, I posted about her job in the Unmarried fundies thread. The FRC is awful. I wish she was doing something else with her life.

It’s possible that it’s a new baby but I think it’s very strange if they didn’t announce another birth. What motivation would they have to keep the baby a secret?

They don't have much of a presence on social media and they barely show up on the show. I doubt friends/family/acquaintances wouldn't know. I think they're trying to keep a lower profile in the media.

Ah. We do the « cold enough for ya? » joke to entertain ourselves during our -40 degree days. But we’re also the province with the largest French speaking community west of Québec so you’re likely to be punched/mocked if you use funky, anglicized pronunciations.
