As per the caption, this poem was written by two people together but Raquel only credits it to herself in the pic. The other person credits both.

I don’t understand the poem. How does it represent unconditional love? Are the waffles, drives, and plants meant to be contrasting, representing breadth, or similar, adding up to a cumulative representation of one something? Either way, showing what? The list just seems random.

And how does each sentence connect to the next? Seriously, they seem like a random list of topics, all different.

I don’t get it.

But maybe this means she’s not plagiarizing. Progress!

In Raquel's Instagram story yesterday it showed her flying to visit someone and she was pulling down her mask while traveling. She wrote the world "rebel" on the picture.  That isn't rebellion Raquel,

Ah, nothing like a great typo to further ruin an already terrible concatenation of "insights".

You can say you love many things that aren't people in relationships with you, and those of us with a prosaic nature may just note  that the word love is used in a number of different ways in colloquial speech,  eg. to denote "like a lot" or "enjoy doing" . But if you're a poet you can go out wasting gas while driving nowhere for no reason and tell yourself that you're being enveloped by love. And people who are in love should see all each other's  shit and stay regardless.

Anyway that's what I thought it meant.

I don’t think we’re meant to understand it. I think we are just supposed to marvel at the brilliance and desperately hope to be as wise as she is one day.

I thought this one was from Jesus' point of view but according to the caption it's a self-affirmation.

More surrealistic spelling but the protagonist is still very special:

Maybe my brain needs to wake up a bit more this morning, but what the hell did eye just read? This seems a bit much even for Raquel.

I guess she's happy that Texas ended the mask mandate.

And of course all of these things are equally important. No, who am I kidding? Raquel’s clear skin is by far the most important of these items.

I’m assuming these people are glad to be out of Raquel’s life since serving her couldn’t have been pleasant.

@AmazonGrace, if you compiled your haikus into a book, I would buy a hundred copies at retail before paying a penny for any one of Raquel’s disasters.

One good haiku is

Better than all Raquel’s tripe.

Even God said so.
(disclaimer:  this is not a good haiku)

I’m astonished anyone buys her poetry, when it’s all available for free on her social media. I doubt she’s ever had a thought she didn’t instantly communicate to Instagram or Twitter.

Non-native speaker here - is „unbounded“ even a word? I would have thought it’s „unbound“.

From Merriam-Webster:

unbounded

Definition of unbounded

1 : having no limit unbounded joy

2 : unrestrained, uncontrolled

Yes. I think the difference is unbound meaning “not or no longer tied up” and unbounded meaning “without edges/borders/boundaries.” Similar, but each useful in its own way.

I tried to watch the video Raquel posted on Instagram. It was painful.  Apparently being raw and real means not planning what to say and instead repeating the same things while saying um a lot. What I got out of it is that Raquel has moved, no longer has siblings to take pictures of her and now she doesn’t know what to post on Instagram. She worded it as not having anyone to help her create content, but her content has always been pictures of herself. She assures us that she has always been her raw real self on social media. I believe it since I think she is actually a self absorbed person who has always thought she is super special and instead of putting effort into creating things just steals from others.

She made some comment about rethinking things that she was told and used to believe and didn't mention God or church once unless I missed something so I kind of wondered if the rethinking had to do with religious teachings.

I wonder if moving to California has been a bit of a culture shock. I’m not sure where she is living, but she might have  landed in a place where people will challenge her Trump worship and Calvinist religious beliefs.

A happy summer solstice to all northern hemisphere FJers! And a happy winter solstice to all southern hemisphere FJers! (I know it's already Monday is Australia, so I'm late for most of you.)

ETA--Oh! I just checked, and the winter solstice is at 1:31 PM on Monday, June 21 in Eastern Australia Time. So, for once the time zones worked in my favor. I'm not late!

I'm so angry at the Bishops right now. Shit like this is why I left the Catholic church. They play politics so blatantly.  I hope this convinces more people to leave.

My grandmother came from a town in Missouri of (now) population ~14,500 and 8 Baptist churches.  Not counting all the other denominations, that's just the Baptists.
MY grandfather came from Drimoleauge, Ireland which has a current population of ~450 people (not a typo) and 1 church and 5 pubs.
If I get a time machine take a wild guess which ancestors I'm going back to visit?  I'm not social, don't enjoy bars, and prefer to imbibe at home but sitting in a pub has to be better than being Godbothered to death by people pretending they don't drink.
Fun unrelated fact - Martin Luther spent so much time on the toilet he had a desk built so he could work there, and would take meetings while actively pooping.   He also wrote letters to people with vivid descriptions of his poops.   That should make everyone feel a little better about their work place and emails.

Dear FJ ladies of a certain age.  Did you know that joint pain can appear/increase with perimenopause and menopause?  No?  Me neither till my rheumatologist told me yesterday.  It's all down to the fall in (o)estrogen.
Looking online, it'll either settle down as your hormones adapt to their new levels OR you're stuck with it!  I don't fancy needing NSAIDs for the rest of my life.

This evening a biker dude went out of his way to follow my car into a retail store's parking lot to lecture me on - get this - braking when the light turned yellow. I had been going the speed limit and it was by no means the shortest stop I've ever made. He condescendingly told me that next time I should hit the gas because people like him could "go splat" into my car. Really dude?!? If you're going to drive any vehicle, especially a motorcycle, actually learn to drive it and don't effing tailgate me when I'm going the speed limit. And if you did rear-end me, guess whose fault it would be? Certainly not the person who was obeying the law.
Also, I hate living in a society where I have to say this, but I am soooo thankful my male coworker was with me. The biker stopped his bike right behind my car when I parked and wouldn't move it until his lecture was over. If I had been alone I would have been terrified.
