It's like when the Nurie and Kaylee Rodrigues were better cared for when they stayed with the Pearl's. 

Anna definitely is more maternal and caring than Michelle has ever came across on the show. I don't think that is just down to Michelle being less invested with every child she has as and being used to deligating everything to the older children. Her birthday posts for Jordyn and Josie recently shows how little she knows about her youngest two children.

I can see how people would think that, but I don't see Anna as maternal at all.  If she has a maternal instinct in her body she wouldn't keep providing her sex offender husband with potential victims.

I do think Anna is simple and seems to relate to her kids much like a tween or young teen babysitting.  I think she relates better to children rather than to adults where she might have to confront her own responsibilities and accountability.

In my view Anna is as vain and shallow as the rest of them. If she had a shred of concern for the welfare of her children she’d lock down her social media and concentrate on raising them in peace and privacy knowing there will be awkward questions later on. But no, she’s out there parading them on TV and Instagram and grubbing for money while she’s at it with a sideline of judging other women, supporting Trump & glorifying her husband’s enablers. 
I think she loves the humpers leaping to her defence at any criticism and calling her ‘strong’, ‘godly’, ‘Proverbs woman etc’

TLDR - she’s as big a POS as the rest of them.

Equating maternal instant with well groomed children is NOT something we should be doing with these folks. Considering how much emphasis they put on appearances those appearances should always be take with a grain of salt. 

That said I'm always appalled at how disheveled the lost girls always look, they have dirty uncombed hair, dirty ill-fitting outdated clothes, even as old as those girls are now. With as much money as Boob has, there is no reason those girls should be dressing like they rummaged through the dumpster at Goodwill, it shows a blatant lack of regard for their well being.

They always look sad to me. Everybody says that Josie is the spolied one, but I think she's been neglected and ignored, too. I always say the same, but Michelle left a extremely weak preemie with her teenager daughters, just to get a vacation. Everybody says Michelle raised her babies for the firat 6 months, but it's clearly false, and not even a sick baby made her stay at home! If Josie was left despite being so tiny and speshul, I doubt she received attention once she became bigger and healthier.

To make things worse, I have the feeling that the sistermoms gave all their energies/efforts to the howlers, and they did the bare mininum with the lost girls. Also sistermoms were travelling and courting and couldn't focus on the little girls. They cannot be blamed of course! But the little ones had been raised without a mother neither someone playing that role seriously. 

I wonder if they see a mom in Anna and that's why they feel good there. Mackenzie looks always sad, too, but I think it's because a different cause. She has a real mom (which put her in a better position than the lost girls), but I bet she is aware that her parents relationship is not exactly a paradise.

Go to space camp.  Encourage kids to play astronaut.  "Educate" them at the SOTDRT so any career in STEM is completely out of the question for them no matter what their potential.

What a wonderful mother she is.

Ikr?  I'm not saying treat every toddler playtime like college prep, but that she says they're entertained by his big dreams when they have so severely limited their opportunities breaks my heart.

 

More Anna hypocrisy...

Got news for her - Laura Ingalls Wilder was no keeping sweet fundie wife.  She refused to have obey in her wedding vows and spent plenty of time alone with Almanzo before marriage.  And had a mother who insisted she get a real education.  And she had a job.  And sent her child to a real school.  

Literally anyone with even passing knowledge of LIW and LHOP knows she was hardly a helpmeet role model.

The few times I've seen pictures of those lost girls and Anna's girls together I've almost wanted to cry. I can't imagine they don't notice the difference. Or notice how their older sisters dress. It's not like they've been out playing in the mud (as if they were allowed now that they're "young ladies") and got caught on camera, or they are teenagers in a rebellious phase (as if that would be allowed to happen), or mom decided to stop fighting and let them go outside without a coat and change their minds when they get cold—this is how their mother sends them to be photographed in a recording studio...or whatever (don't see that much). If Anna combs and dresses their hair, that's a huge step up.

It reminds me of all the times Jim Bob (and maybe Michelle?) said the kids could be a concert pianist/violinist/whatever. They’re pretty good, don’t get me wrong, but they’re completely clueless about what training people need to have for an actual career.

While I’m on this train of thought, didn’t the girls hold some dating seminar about how they were pursuing their own interests and training and all of that (Jessa said they weren’t sitting around eating bon bons waiting for a husband)? What was the point since they’re all stay at home moms? Was Anna pursuing anything? 
 
Also, the math and physics you need (And likely proficiency in Russian) to become an astronaut is intense. Anything past multiplication would blow their minds

Every astronaut is taught a high level of proficiency in Russian.  (I assume vice versa for the cosmonauts?) Astronauts also have to have a whole list of skills (this list comes from the Canadian Space Agency website):

• History of space flight
• Fundamentals of space flight
• Space operations and procedures
• International Space Station systems
• Life science
• Materials and fluid science
• Earth observation
• Space science
• Robotics
• Human behaviour and performance
• Flight training
• Parachute jumps
• Physical training
• First aid and CPR
• Operation of photographic equipment
• Survival training

Astronauts must be excellent public speakers, skilled educators and media relations specialists, since they're the public face of NASA/CSA/ESA etc. Astronauts must be competent laboratory scientists and researchers in order to carry out experiments in space and produce accurate results. Astronauts must be able to carry out basic medical procedures as needed. Astronauts must be able to identify and repair problems with the ISS or their vehicles. Obviously, no one's going to be great at everything, but they need to each have specializations and subspecializations.

I only wish the Duggars were being given the education necessary to prepare them for any of this.

On the book the little girls were reading: The Laura Ingalls Wilder story was just a short piece in a story collection. From the picture, it looks like a story about a family gathering from the Little House in the Big Woods book. I feel pretty comfortable assuming that this short piece is the sum of Anna's knowledge about Laura Ingalls Wilder and her collection of books. Sadly, I doubt her children will ever have the opportunity to read the Little House series.
