I kind of looked around to make sure this wasn't asked anywhere else so hopefully I'm ok. I just (today) discovered podcasts. I started listening to the one that Jenna Fischer & Angela Kinsley from "The Office" recently started. They are going through each episode & as a huge fan of The Office I was kind of intrigued. I'm super into crime shows so I found a few of those too but I was curious if anyone had any that they listen to that they wouldn't mind sharing?

I just finished 1865. It’s theatrical history and incredibly good.

I also really enjoy Decomposed, which is the backstory of famous classical musicians. Fascinating!

I look forward to Wait Wait Don’t Tell Me all week. It’s trivia/ comedy but can get political (light-hearted).

Im listening to the Office Ladies right now!

My Dad Wrote a Porno is hilarious, I have cried multiple times. I have to warn you season one is the worst. I would listen to season 3, episode 5 to get a taste of the average hilarity it becomes.

if you're a sports fan I promise there are great podcasts for each team you like.

Terrible, Thanks for asking. Heavy subject matters, though.

Serial

I enjoy Double Love, which recaps how messed up the sweet valley high books were.

I'm into political podcasts. My favorites recently:

Slow Burn by Slate - seasons 1 and 2 each focused respectively on the Nixon and Clinton impeachments.  I binge listened season 2 about Clinton and the Monica Lewinsky scandal.  Imagine a serial style show but the crime is lying under oath about your womanizing affairs. Real good. Season 3 will focus on 2pac and Biggie.

More Perfect by Radiolab - focuses on the culture and history of the Supreme Court, including various cases.  They did one whole season on the 27 amendments including working with lots of artists to produce an album with a song about each amendment,  such as Dolly Parton singing about #19 (women's suffrage).

The Cut - all various topics about politics and culture focused on women.

Thanks for sharing what you are listening to.  I also listen to Office Ladies and enjoyed 1865.  I am a big fan of history podcasts, I listened to two by Mike Duncan, The History of Rome and Revolutions, which is still ongoing.  I just started listening to Dolly Parton's America and am enjoying it so far.

I like the Bechdel Cast which is a movie review comedy that discusses the portrayal of women in movies. I also enjoy You're Wrong About (discussing a lot of media sensations and historical events that are remembered differently from how they actually happened) and Behind the Bastards (discussing terrible people like Jerry Falwell, Gary Young, Bill Cosby etc).

I haven't gotten much into podcasts yet, but, like @FleeJanaFree said, My Dad Wrote a Porno was hilarious. I'm part way through The Dream (about MLMs) which is very interesting. The other one I liked was The Bright Sessions, although it's more of an audio play than a podcast. Its a sci fi story.

I‘ve been hooked on the „This week in virology“ Podcast since the pandemic.
