Do you want someone to scream loudly, “You are out!” when you probably already know that you are out? I know I would rather them say something like, “Good job! Okay, next person up!” Then the attention is off of you, and they have said something positive. Getting an out is hard enough, but hearing someone tell you “good job!” is so encouraging and makes the situation better because you do not feel so bad about yourself.

OK, so let me get this straight....Gwen Lara, false profit of Remnant Fellowship Church, are you expressing that YOU have a problem with authority?!?!?!?  I mean, the people yelling "You're out!" are umpires.  That's their JOB!!!  They have ultimate AUTHORITY over the game, that's how the game is played.   They yell so that everyone in the stands can hear them.  They aren't expressing joy at the failure, they are doing their job!  In every game, there is a winner and a loser.  With every failed attempt (an out) on one side of the court, there is a success on the other side.  I know I'm mixing metaphors! ;) THIS is life!!!

I feel like it's slightly contradictory. On one hand you must assume that people get sad and upset if you tell them they're out so you must use really nice euphemisms to imply the same thing but on the other hand if anyone gets sad and upset about things that happen in the game they are bad people who will never amount to anything.

I really believe that's her MO.  Keep them confused and they'll never be able to think for themselves...they'll ALWAYS rely on her and/or "leadership" for any decisions that need to be made. Ugh.

Attention, kids: what you are like at age seven is exactly what you will be like as an adult.  If you're ever disappointed and emotional during a game you're doomed. If  you annoy Gwen now you will never get a job when you're all grown up.

How to Make Games Fun for Everyone

October 22, 2019

How do you make a game better? First of all, remember to pray! But after praying, there is one question you ask yourself every time: Would you want someone to do that to you? This will give you the answer to everything that you are supposed to do in every situation. Ask yourself: Do you want someone to bump you when they are playing soccer? No, so do not play too rough toward others. In games, we know that we are all going to make mistakes and lose at times. It is something we all expect of ourselves and each other, so we do not want someone yelling out for everyone to hear, “Hey, you messed up!” and we definitely do not want to treat others that way.

Remember, it is just a game, and games are just a mirror image of what we are doing in life. We are always learning thru these games, and the way you behave now in the game is what you are going to be like at work when you are grown. If you keep up the bad attitude, you will likely not even be able to find a job. If you do manage to get a job and you still have a bad attitude whenever you mess up—being angry and blaming others—then you will not be able to keep that job. God is trying to teach us all how to have a good attitude when we make a mistake.

OK, I admit it, I was disappointed that the Astros beat the Yankees in the ALCS.  It’s not like they didn’t have chances, they left too many runners on base.

Guess I’m doomed. ?

doesn't anybody think that Candace Anger is exactly like the American Beauty mum? You know the crazy, greedy real estate agent one?

Not so much physically, but the same kinda psychological profile

Or they may have a high expectation of themselves in basketball, and when they miss the shot, they get upset and embarrassed because they did not live up to their own expectation, and they wanted others to see how good they are.

I wonder how she can be critical of perfectionism in a game of basketball , yet not see how damaging perfectionism can be in the game of life .   As the umpire of Remnant Fellowship is she gracious , and encouraging , when members fall short of her standard of how a person should be ?

And for Sara Gormsen, she reminds me of Britney Spears' mum. Her daughter-in-law, Ellie looks like a young version of Britney.

As for Tiffany Day, she's like an older version of Britney,

Funny!  I wonder if these devotionals were a lead up to the World Series.  Umpires, tone it down for Gwod's sake!

Looks less than 40 mi from RF.  I thought the same thing though.  Not Santa Fe NM.

Santa Fe is a small town near Brentwood. It would be impossible for Gwen to secure land in Brentwood for something like this because the land is so expensive, hard to come by, and Brentwood codes is very strict about what can be done with land.

Looks like they're having trouble with the kids. So they're not all perfect and obedient?

From Remnant's "You Can Overcome" series:

One of the most powerful and joyful pieces of evidence that God is pleased with this place is the good fruit being produced in our CHILDREN.  They are loving, happy, obedient, standouts.......

I thought the same thing. This week her devos have clearly been directed straight to the children. I'm assuming there are issues with sportsmanship.

Does anyone know if there are any RF leagues currently going on? I know they host their own sports leagues and dance and all of that now.

I agree 100%... when it comes down to any contradiction or confusion, she's presented herself as a profit - a direct line to God - and the ultimate authority over truth... which means that they just assume that if they're confused, it's THEIR fault, and they just need to defer to whatever Gwen says. If they think something is contradictory, it must just be THEM not understanding what she's saying, because she can't be wrong.

And seeing as how hardly anyone dies there.

(snarkily referring to the previous conversation about how you only hear about weddings at RF, not funerals.)

I think they only play games amongst themselves at church. They definitely don’t mingle with the rest of us in sports leagues In the community.

Oh I know... there are a few "special cases" of kids who play in public leagues, but I'm curious if there are any RF leagues going on right now specifically. If so, I wonder if the RF kid's soccer teams are struggling with sportsmanship or something. That would explain why her devos took a sharp turn to a pretty random subject.

I stand corrected. They do play other teams in the community.

You were pretty much right... while the softball team may play in a rec league in the community, member would never dream of playing for another team (i.e. a work team). They still only play with RF members.

Well, she is a prophet and with this sort of expectation of failure, I guess it could be considered a self-fulfilling prophecy.  Win-win (pun!) for Gwen.  ?

It drives me up the wall the way she has to take EVERYTHING to the extreme... she takes it so far that you're pretty much not allowed to experience any emotion than joy. Did you win? Joy. Did you loose? Joy. Did you strike out? Joy. Were you benched the whole game? Joy.

Don't get me wrong... we need to have our priorities straight... it IS just a game. Throwing equipment, screaming at officials, and being a horrible sport is ridiculous. Get some perspective.

But seriously... you're allowed to have emotions. You're allowed to be disappointed. You're allowed to be frustrated. You're allowed to be sad.

I couldn't agree more! Kids should be taught how to handle disappointment rather than denying it.

On a side note, I hate, hate, hate it when other people tell me how I'm supposed to feel. Especially when they demand that I act happier and more enthusiastic than I actually am. Examples:

Good morning! Come on you guys, you can do better than that! GOOD MORNING!!!

Don't say, "I have to do this," say, "I GET to do this!"

<shaking me head and rolling my eyes>

This comment, though from years ago,  is interesting in light of her gamey delusions of late.

"Poor Remnant, I hope that poor church doesnt lose any more softball games, she berated them unmercifully trying to find out WHO was sinning in the camp when they lose."

I love baseball but I'm dreading the new season because the White Sox ownership is THE FUCKING WORST. I watched Dominican League Baseball (Lidom!) over the winter and fell in love with their joy, spirit, and exuberance. The broadcasts were in Spanish and my Spanish is pretty weak but I loved catching phrases and repeating them. Bombe! I'm sad about MLB and Commissioner Idiota's busywork rules. But I love baseball, always and forever.
I guess I don't have a point. Just bitching. Te amo mucho, Lidom!

      Happy International Women's Day!

Humanity may have some work to do, to improve gender equality, but I was glad to hear that France has taken an important step to protect healthcare for women (and people of other genders who can get pregnant).

Feeling ragey this morning. I have a doctor's appointment this afternoon in the hope of getting help for an ongoing injury. I went to a (different!!) doctor late last year who completely blew me off. He wouldn't do diagnostic testin, he refused to send me to a specialist, and he just told me to "take it easy" and "take ibuprofen." I'm hopeful for today's appointment but I'm also feeling a SEVERE amount of rage at that doctor from last year!

Well, the rash is back with a vengeance. It never completely cleared up. I saw the derm yesterday and they did another swab and yup, raging infection again, still? It is definitely strep skin infection. I am getting so damn tired and run down from this. Who the f would immagine being hospitalized freaking TWICE for a rash?

My niece is going to be a seat filler at this year's Academy Awards.  Seat fillers are asked to wear tuxedos regardless of sex/gender.  If you see a pretty young woman with very curly hair, it could be my niece.
