?

Two questions:

How do I react to a post? I see where people do emoji’s to comment on a post, but I can’t figure out how. Secondly, does anyone have any idea how many members are part of RF? At least at the Brentwood campus?

Figured out the answer to my first question.

According to his business page he is still working and going about his life as usual despite the fact that his wife is MIA.

How to be the Salt in a Game

October 21, 2019

What is inside of a person that makes them angry and allows them to throw the ball down or get into an argument? Most of the time, it is embarrassment. Maybe they tripped while jumping rope, and they want to blame someone else for the way they were swinging the rope. They want to point the finger at someone to try to get the attention off themselves. Or they may have a high expectation of themselves in basketball, and when they miss the shot, they get upset and embarrassed because they did not live up to their own expectation, and they wanted others to see how good they are.

We can end that today. We are going to end this behavior because we are going to tell ourselves the Truth: that a game is there for enjoyment; it is there for fun. Games are there so we can learn to laugh at ourselves, and we are there to make every situation better. We are to be the salt of the Earth, and when you are the salt, you make the game better. First of all, you should not even expect to be able to play in the game at all, but if you do get to play, your goal is to be the salt in that game and make that game better and more fun for everyone!

Personally I have  never needed or wanted salt during rope jumping and can't see any use for it in basketball either but to each their own I guess.

Can Gwen please do a simple Google search and find out that, to the entire world, “salt/being salty” with regard to competition and sports is commonly-used language that means literally the exact opposite of what she wants it to mean? Gwen can’t hide how old, dumb, disconnected, and outdated she is. One would expect the supposed prophet of a supposedly omniscient being to not be wrong nearly every day...

My guess is she isn't MIA in his life, she is MIA from public view. I wonder what he thinks of his wife's skeleton figure. I wonder if he thinks about the impact it is having on their children.

As a wife of a husband with an eating disorder (too much food), I worry about what our kids are learning from his eating "style". I try to combat it with good examples but I always wonder am I doing enough so they don't follow in his footsteps.

My  theory: some children were sad because they were left out of RF teams because winning is more important than fair play and letting kids exercise and have  fun together. Gwen can't stand sulky kids because everything must be picture perfect. Hence the need to devotionally slap said sad kids.

A reasonable theory but another theory is that Gwen is directing her focus on Joe's behavior in Remnant.  Is he rebelling against being a prop just being Gwen's lapdog or was he specifically over competitive with the Beta males at a sporting event?  Discuss.

They probably tied way too much of their holiness-cred up with always being blessed and always winning, and they now realize it is untenable and that they need to backtrack.  Remember, they believe that God has better things to do than feeding starving children or protecting people from violence, and that as long as you starve yourself and plaster a fake smile on your face, God will pick out your clothes, make you feel happy, make sure you have enough money, bless your endeavors, and make the Remnant softball team victorious.  So it follows that when the team loses or someone drops the ball, it must mean they weren't blessed enough (that poor starving child in Africa must be really evil and horrible, because God doesn't seem to be making him prosper at all).  Cue Gwen previously using this to her advantage and making everyone feel guilty and saying that it is a sign that everyone needs to be even skinnier and more pure.  Of course, after several years, it becomes clear that no matter what, the softball team will win some games and lose some games.  To distract everyone from how the prosperity gospel she has been preaching for years with regards to the church softball team is obviously bullshit (just look through her multiple old posts about how God controls everything and blesses obedience, and therefore the softball team would win if there wasn't still some sin left in the camp and other messages along those lines), Gwen now has to change her tune: God wants us to stay humble, God wants to teach us how to lose gracefully, God wants us to learn how to not feel disappointed.  Everyone must be smiling all the time, no matter what, for the glory of Gwen God! No one is allowed to feel even briefly disappointed after practicing a sport or musical instrument for hundreds of hours and then messing up during the big game/performance.  God is in control of all your circumstances, and today he decided that you would lose, so you'd better act happy about it! But wait, doesn't that contradict all the previous teachings that God would bless you if you were obedient? Who cares! Stop thinking and buy Gwen's latest book!

What’s the point of these “devotionals”? Most of them ramble on & they don’t say anything. They’re certainly not giving glory to God, although they’re not giving glory to Gwod, either. They’re empty of anything of value and makes me even more sad for those who stick around. Some people probably think what she writes is profound exactly because they don’t understand what she’s saying. (“She must be saying something really good because it’s above my comprehension”)

A big thing for Gwen is teaching her followers to be self depreciating... Don't complain that I tell you to only eat one cracker... You could be getting zero crackers! You don't even deserve to play at all, so no matter what happens the only emotion you can show is being deliriously happy!

Idk, when I share a post and want to expound on my thoughts, I don't go the lazy, unoriginal ideas route. Or if I have nothing to add, I don't. She ALWAYS types verbatim what the picture says. These show up in my feed and I'm just like, "Really Gwen? *insert eyeroll* That's what you have to say about that?" And her cult just loves them...

Sorry, just a little snarky tonight ?

Gwen's followers aren't allowed to read what anyone else writes so she copies it and thus they are allowed to read it.

(Maybe I should add that what I wrote is pure snark.)

Not long ago the subject of RF funerals came up.  This is related, and I wonder what ever came of this.  I can't imagine what a RF cemetery would look like.  I picture some kind of Jewish motif, but extra gawdy.

Interesting! I wonder why they're going so far afield? Is all the land in Brentwood tied up? (or whatever you call land that you can't buy)

Attention, kids: what you are like at age seven is exactly what you will be like as an adult.  If you're ever disappointed and emotional during a game you're doomed. If  you annoy Gwen now you will never get a job when you're all grown up.

How to Make Games Fun for Everyone

October 22, 2019

How do you make a game better? First of all, remember to pray! But after praying, there is one question you ask yourself every time: Would you want someone to do that to you? This will give you the answer to everything that you are supposed to do in every situation. Ask yourself: Do you want someone to bump you when they are playing soccer? No, so do not play too rough toward others. Do you want someone to scream loudly, “You are out!” when you probably already know that you are out? I know I would rather them say something like, “Good job! Okay, next person up!” Then the attention is off of you, and they have said something positive. Getting an out is hard enough, but hearing someone tell you “good job!” is so encouraging and makes the situation better because you do not feel so bad about yourself. In games, we know that we are all going to make mistakes and lose at times. It is something we all expect of ourselves and each other, so we do not want someone yelling out for everyone to hear, “Hey, you messed up!” and we definitely do not want to treat others that way.

Remember, it is just a game, and games are just a mirror image of what we are doing in life. We are always learning thru these games, and the way you behave now in the game is what you are going to be like at work when you are grown. If you keep up the bad attitude, you will likely not even be able to find a job. If you do manage to get a job and you still have a bad attitude whenever you mess up—being angry and blaming others—then you will not be able to keep that job. God is trying to teach us all how to have a good attitude when we make a mistake.

the funny thing is that when I was a member I would have watched this and be in awe of how well Tedd and Candace spoke. But watching now I see how they don’t answer questions and seem to stick to the script. It makes me mad to see this. According to Remnant it IS a sin to overeat and it DOES damage children...

Looks like they're having trouble with the kids. So they're not all perfect and obedient?

From Remnant's "You Can Overcome" series:

One of the most powerful and joyful pieces of evidence that God is pleased with this place is the good fruit being produced in our CHILDREN.  They are loving, happy, obedient, standouts.......
