Why no Andy Griffith?  I can't think of a more classical wholesome show.

Well, there was Otis who made regular visits to the jail to sober up.

The Two Fun Girls from Mt Pilot.

The moonshining Morrison sisters

Ernest T Bass

And especially that episode where Ernest T wants to marry Charlene Darling and Barney in drag pretends to be Charlene to fool Ernest T

Juanita at the Bluebird Diner.  There's a lot of suspicion that Barney carries on with her more than he does Thelma Lou.  There are those scenes of Barney and Thelma Lou where he's got her lipstick all over his face.

Andy and Barney regularly go to dances and once had a raffle at a dance.

Barney is superstitious and in one episode tried to contact Count(ess) Taleki to grant Opie three wishes.  (I can't remember if it's Count or Countess Taleki and I saw this episode just this week.)

@PennySycamore Not to mention Ellie the "lady druggist," Helen the schoolteacher, Aunt Bee's Indian Elixer, and the episode where Andy and Opie clean the house in ruffled aprons.

I don’t even particularly like the show but I always watch the fun girls and the Barney in wedding drag episodes! They’re classic for a reason!

@Leftitinmysnood,  Helen was not only a schoolteacher, but she'd gotten arrested in college.  I can't remember exactly why, but I seem to recall she was undercover for the college paper.   There was also that time when Howard went beach boy and lived a rather Bohemian life for a while.  There was another episode that showed Howard's wild side.

@PennySycamore, My mother didn't like Howard, so we didn't watch those episodes. She loved Jim Nabors, though. I can imagine some fundies having fits about his long term gay relationship and marriage. And that bring us back to Rock Hudson. . .

Jinger and Jeremy are traveling yet again, this time to Dallas. Since the Orlando trip was because Jeremy was invited to preach, I wonder if this trip is for that as well, and he’s being sent by Grace church to do that? Maybe that’s how they’re affording everything.

They're in Texas for the wedding of Cade Foehner and Gabby Barrett of American Idol fame. Jeremy married them. https://people.com/country/gabby-barrett-marries-cade-foehner-wedding-photo/

Yeah I just saw... they became really good friends pretty fast. Didn’t they just met like, a few months ago? And oh, another teen bride

I didn't realize Gabby was so young. Jeremy seems to be attracted to other minor celebrities.

Groomsmen?

is it custom for regular guest to wear them?

American Idol fame

This phrase always amuses me because it's like saying "Walmart parking lot wedding". Sure, it technically qualifies, but it's like the shoddiest you can get. It's been like a decade since the show produced a career that actually took off. The only people I know under 30 who give a damn about American Idol are the girls who want to be on it, and even they don't actually watch the show.

That said, American Idol contestants seem like perfect company for Jeremy.

That label might as well say “This is the coffee that the Lord hath made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.”

It's also entirely possible that Jonathan Crombie as Gilbert Blythe may have stirred up some desires that could not be righteously fulfilled.

I can't be the only 30 something Canadian that had a Gilbert crush after watching it can I? Or do I need to escort myself to the prayer closet.

Well - I'm a 40 something Canadian transplant (American but I was Canada-adjacent and now live here) and I had a crush on Jonathan Crombie too... still do if I'm being honest. (RIP Jonathan Crombie)

"One of the couple’s good friends, Jeremy Vuolo (the husband of Counting On star Jinger Duggar), married them. They wrote their own vows, and Barrett anticipated they both “absolutely” would cry during the special moment."

Teen bride Gabby's dress was pretty dang unfundie.

And damn, that Cade has beautiful hair.

It's also very possible that in this wedding of J-list (the J is for Jesus) reality "stars", the guest list was compiled partially based upon a desire to invite other J-list stars for additional fame.  So the bride and groom may have encouraged any and all attention seeking behavior including elevating more "famous" guests and inflating their connections in order to ride those coattails as best they could.

Whatever gets attention, both Jeremy and the couple will probably do.  So whatever the nominal reason behind Jeremy wearing a button hole to this wedding is, we can rest assured that it was done for maximum attention.

Or maybe she was "feeling inferior" compared to her mother's massive 19-kid-brood. Or maybe realizing all the attention she'd missed out on.

What?! I don't actually know another person's inner motivations, I'm flummoxed. Or maybe I was just speculating on a snark site.

I mean it's not UNtrue.  It's a conversation my friends and I had when we were turning 30.  You're no longer the target demographic for pop culture.  I'm not convinced that's a bad thing.

Dear, nobody knows for sure. It's just speculation and theorizing. It's an open conversation, only thing we can't speak so we write. Nothing personal.

Can I say that I was today years old when I realized this is why JB & M when with the J theme?  ?‍♀️ ?

Or is this not the reason I have no idea, I always assumed they went with J for Jim Bob and Jimmy Lee.

They named Josh and Jana because they liked the names, and John David was the name of a friend (if a recall correctly). Then, seeing that the 3 kids were J-, Michelle and Jim Bob had the great idea of naming all the children with a J name.

Re Jeremy's officiating at a wedding -What on earth are "American Idol Alums"?!!  The groom looks as if he's stepped off the set of The Three Musketeers and he even has a chest rug to match his hair. Her dress is very pretty- but what a cleavage.

Jeremy is definitely heading down the "celebrity" route- z list or j list, - it's all a bit tacky. I wonder what Jinger really thinks about it all

I wonder what JB and Michelle are thinking too

Canadian here too, and the Gilbert and Anne apple basket scene on the bridge when they kissed for the first time I pretty much rewound it to watch about 200 times on my VCR.

"I don't want sunbursts or marble halls."

Reddit is predicting that the Duggars and Vuolos visiting Jinger and Jeremy means that they're announcing another pregnancy. Seems like a sound theory to me, especially since they seem pretty settled in LA and Felicity's 15 months old now.

Everyone keep an eye on Jeremy's instagram to see if he makes another cryptic post that looks like it could have been taken at a pregnancy announcement photoshoot again!

I do wonder if Jeremy’s ego has realised yet, that he will forever be the husband of Jinger Duggar........
