It looks like Michelle Seewald may be in a relationship with a boy named Elijah. She’s 17 but Michael Seewald wrote a blog a few years ago praising young marriage. So I think he would have no problem with her marrying at 18.

I think you’re right. He let Ben pursue a relationship leading to marriage before his 18th birthday. In the stories there’s a pic of these two with the tag Seniors 2020. Hopefully they’ll wait till after they graduate.

my sister was due on 2/28/1968, and my dad really wanted her to be born on the 29th; my mom disagreed.  but my sister made it a non-issue by showing up 2 weeks early.

My sister-in-law's due date was about April 23 but my niece had other plans and showed up on April 6.

I was due April 13, although Mr. Briefly thought Tax Day the 15th would be funny.  But the doctor's date and mine were very different, because I know exactly when I conceived.  She was born on March 31, the doctor said she was 2 weeks early but she wasn't.  Depending on the way it's calculated, she was either 4 weeks early (which she wasn't) or slightly past the date.  But she was full-term.  But when I went into labor late the night of March 30 and it was obvious that I was not going to make it to the April 13th date, Mr. Briefly was really hoping that my labor would be long so that she would be born on April 1st (April Fool's Day).  Thankfully, I had a short and fast labor.

So I only heard about the Hammonds recently and I only know about their blog. I noticed the engagement hasn’t been posted on the blog so I guess they have other types of social media. Could you please tell me if they do? I want to learn more about this family

I don't know whether they have instagrams or not, but several members of the family have Facebook. Ethan's is https://www.facebook.com/ethan.hammond.1232?

I think Jessa and Ben are going to be like Franicia and Tim White. They are going to have their first child with a godly but awful sounding name. And the rest of the children will have more ordinary names.

I still hope that Spurgeon, once he is older, will ditch his first name and go by his middle name. Elliot is a beautiful name doesn't sound crazy fundie.

Cheryl Long posted pics on FB of her daughter MacKenzie's wedding to Titus Woodward.

Her dress was surprisingly lovely compared to what I remember her sister's dresses being like.  I personally didn't care for the lace collar type/open keyhole neckline, but it is pretty on her and doesn't appear to be a horrible dress transformation to make it more modest.  They seem to have relaxed their standards a lot since their day on the Life in a Shoebox blog and the Long Family Singers.  The decorations were bright orange and blue, again not my favorite, but I've seen worse.  However, having their personality type codes on the wedding cake was pretty weird and they toasted with water - maybe some fake champagne or punch would have been better.  The groom looked handsome in his Airforce dress blues.  They had some kind of hot food buffet set up, lots of cakes and a cheesecake.  Reception was in a big open room - like a gym but I didn't see lines on the floor like a gym, with tables set up for at least 150 from what I could see in the pics.  Nicest Long wedding yet overall.

Sarah Washburn has been in a relationship with Stephen LaGoy since January. Is that the second Washburn-LaGoy relationship?

Yes. The Washburns have very few choices in spouses so it’s not surprising at all. The Lagoys are a very large family but many of their children are already married.

I don’t think I know of this family. Why would they have limited choices for spouses?

They are fake Jewish. So that knocks out a lot of fundies in fundie land.

Good.  AFAIC, the fewer the fakes the better.  They're a special nuisance to deal with (I'm non-fake Jewish).

It’s pretty bad. I feel like I’m used to their brand of ridiculousness by now.

Go check out Lindsay Reith's Instagram. I think I smell a break-up. ?

Oh, it definitely looks like it. Sarah’s breakup with her ex fiancé was just like that. First they moved the wedding farther away and then all of the pictures were deleted. The sisters don’t have the best luck in this subject.

And instastories with bittersweet messages? I caught one the other day that said something about "love is never wasted" and today there's one that talks about life circumstances being temporary. A lot of comments about "yeah, good for you, keep moving forward". Sad, but it is what it is. The fact that Sarah went through with her wedding this time seems like a miracle now. I wonder how that works with the band.

Why have the reception so long after the wedding?

The people I know who did this, were pregnant at the time of the wedding. Others wanted to move in together soon so they married quick, moved in together, then had a reception later on.

I love baseball but I'm dreading the new season because the White Sox ownership is THE FUCKING WORST. I watched Dominican League Baseball (Lidom!) over the winter and fell in love with their joy, spirit, and exuberance. The broadcasts were in Spanish and my Spanish is pretty weak but I loved catching phrases and repeating them. Bombe! I'm sad about MLB and Commissioner Idiota's busywork rules. But I love baseball, always and forever.
I guess I don't have a point. Just bitching. Te amo mucho, Lidom!

      Happy International Women's Day!

Humanity may have some work to do, to improve gender equality, but I was glad to hear that France has taken an important step to protect healthcare for women (and people of other genders who can get pregnant).

Feeling ragey this morning. I have a doctor's appointment this afternoon in the hope of getting help for an ongoing injury. I went to a (different!!) doctor late last year who completely blew me off. He wouldn't do diagnostic testin, he refused to send me to a specialist, and he just told me to "take it easy" and "take ibuprofen." I'm hopeful for today's appointment but I'm also feeling a SEVERE amount of rage at that doctor from last year!

Well, the rash is back with a vengeance. It never completely cleared up. I saw the derm yesterday and they did another swab and yup, raging infection again, still? It is definitely strep skin infection. I am getting so damn tired and run down from this. Who the f would immagine being hospitalized freaking TWICE for a rash?

My niece is going to be a seat filler at this year's Academy Awards.  Seat fillers are asked to wear tuxedos regardless of sex/gender.  If you see a pretty young woman with very curly hair, it could be my niece.

It’s not supposed to be mosquito season right now but I still appear to have been bitten twice on the side of my foot. Bastards. I know I shouldn’t scratch but it’s so tempting… 😑
