The first thing I thought when I saw she posted on Insta was "she's totally got to be on FJ." So hey Jessa! What's up girl.

It's the head bob. Apparently they make babies all look alike. And she does have those wide open eyes that Felicity has

I did this too! My 2 are adults now, post grad, and lifelong readers.?

I had only one issue. When my oldest was in 1st grade she was identified as 'delayed' and not reading at the preferred level. I was shocked. She ticked all the boxes for comprehension and sight words. After a week of

' intervention' the reading specialist advised that K was offended by having to read books with just a handful of words on the page?. All righted itself in about 2 months, and she went from 'delayed' to reading WAY above first grade level. As you get closer to kindergarten, you may want to add some JunieB Jones, Magic Treehouse, and Wayside school (early chapter books) to your repertoire. Velocikid will probably want " chapter books" as soon as possible, and those are a good bridge. When we made the leap to Harry Potter in 2nd grade- it was frustrating, so we took turns reading pages!

We had an experience like that too. We started reading chapter books to our small humans early on, and by the time each of them were school age (4 years old here) they were actively taking part in the choosing and listening process. SH#1 was behind grade level in reading the first couple of years of school because the idea of reading "The cat sat on the mat." was boring to the point of being intolerable. We worked on it step by step and dealt with the frustration, and along the way kept reading books at the level kiddo was wanting to hear (which has usually been fantasy for this small human, some early elementary favs included Harry Potter and The Hobbit). It evened itself out and after that he has been above grade level, usually by a lot.

When second small human started kindergarten I remember the first parent teacher meeting. The teacher asked me about our choice to be reading The Hobbit to such a young child and I explained older small human had chosen it but SH#2 had gotten sucked in and chosen to listen in. She told me to keep doing what we were doing because it was paying off in vocabulary and interest in reading and other areas.

Reading with my kids and helping them as far as is possible to become readers is one of the areas I feel like I have/am succeeded as a parent. I am chronically ill and I am limited in many ways in what I'd like to be able to do with and for my kids so it's helpful for my mental health to have this to share with them.

I was reading chapter books in 2nd grade and tawdry romance novels by 5th.  Unfortunately I still couldn’t multiply properly at the same time.

I’m sure hearing voices is good for all fetuses.   I bet your baby will hear your voice all day long whether you’re reading from a book or just talking.  Maybe have your SO read to you, so their voice gets imprinted too.  Just a thought.  What a great habit to get into.

Also,   Congratulations!   Such an exciting time for you.

This is great advice. My parents lived with my grandparents (Moms parents) for the last several months of Mom's pregnancy with me and the first couple of months after I was born. My Dad worked long wonky hours and Mom had a stressful job so when she'd get home my Gramma would help her unwind by reading to her. I got the benefit of that daily sustained reading too and when I was born as soon as Gramma would speak my head would turn to wherever her voice was, because she'd imprinted on me in utero ❤️❤️❤️

hahaa, I read tawdry romance novels at that age too! I remember being scandalized by some bodice ripper's Chapter 11 (the.sex.chapter.)

I was pretty good at math though, luckily. Still have math anxiety dreams though, which is weird because I have a science PhD? My brain tends to tune out when modellers are all "and then we did a Monte Carlo simulation..."

On the reading early causing school issues thing, it happened to me too. My second grade teacher really thought I couldn't read well because when we would go around taking turns reading to the class I would skip words, lines, and sentences regularly. It surprised her since my mom and past teachers had all said I was a good reader (my mom worked at the very small school I attended at that age). She realized when she started asking me questions about what was going on in the story that I was actually able to read silently faster than I could speak, which was making me omit large chunks of the story. That was a fun issue for her to try to correct, as she ended up being very worried she would slow my reading abilities or turn me away from reading forever. Poor teacher. She should be glad to know that its still nearly impossible to find me without a book in reach.

Ben has a handlebar mustache. I think it looks ok. My husband had one for awhile. I hated it but he loved the reactions he would get from random people. Most thought he looked like an old timey villain because he liked to twist his mustache when he was thinking. I was so happy when he shaved. I refused to kiss him for awhile right before he shaved because it was getting in the way!

One of my best friends has a handlebar mustache & I love it on him but I think it looks strange on Ben. (just my opinion though) Ivy's face says it all!

Interesting. She knows no one asked, so I wonder if she's fishing for someone to drag out the Gothard-no-beard rule? Or just show that they think for themselves as far as the practicality of facial hair?

Ben wants to appear older...I think that’s what the beard was about, and the same with the “only for a few days” per Jessa HBM-

Getting a FT job outside of a fake TV show would be the best way to look like an actual grownup. I was hoping Jessa would end her whimsical post about beards by telling us all about Ben’s new job that had a no facial hair policy-

She really is adorable. Her expressions are starting to rival miss Davia Waller at that age.

I'm personally not a fan of beards or mustaches but Ben looks ok. Ivy is adorable and I love her expressions in the pictures.

Did she post something crazy on twitter? All I’m seeing on Instagram is a cute picture of Henry and Ivy.
