Lori Alexander 69: cold, angry, mean and racist

As for why some people use badly transliterated Hebrew instead of English - who knows?

Some may feel like it makes them more 'holy,' or something like that.  I know that's how it was with my ex, who went through phases (a few times) of obsession with Jewish things, including cooking, checking cookbooks of Jewish/Hebrew out of the library (English language-he wasn't that well educated), and this was a guy who read very little outside of the Bible.  I'd prefer to think Deanna is like that, rather than just trying to appear holier and better than everyone else, but this is one of Lori's chief leghumpers here, so who knows.

Oh, the idiocy of the arguments against going to college.

1) Lori says it was a waste of time because she only wanted to be a wife and mother.  No, she wanted to lay around and be lazy.  In retrospect, since you don't appreciate the education your parents paid for, instead of sending you to college, your parents should have kicked you out of the house and made you get a job.  If you love children so much, you could have gone to work in a childcare center with a high school diploma and foregone college altogether.

2) "Everything I learned in college I could have easily learned on my own through reading or the Internet."  Hand-picked chat room member.  The Internet was not publicly available until 1991.  Lori went to college in the late '70s and early '80s.  I'm guessing she graduated from high school in 1975 or 76 because she's about 18 months older than me and I graduated in 1977.  I spent many hours with the microfilm machine or in the stacks of the library.  You have to be able to validate the information, not use Wikipedia as your source or some opinion piece by an Internet blogger.

3) Using the chat room as a sample -- pathetic.  It's lazy writing at it's finest.  She can't make an argument so she has to quote the minions.

College isn't for everyone, as I can attest based on some of my students.  My family members were blue-collar workers -- insulators, coal miners, and mechanics.  There is a great need for trades.  But don't castigate those who want a college education and a career that requires one.  Lori's posts continually show how unhappy she is that she dredges up the past.  You are 60 years old.  You spent 4 years in college 45 years ago.  That's 7% of your life.  What about the other 53%+ for however long you live?  If your point is you were stupid and lazy, you are quite successful, Lori Alexander.

My favorite handyperson other than Mr. SB was a college educated engineer. He now has his own business and teached others how to maintain their homes. Some blue collar workers are college educated.

So today, Lori has posted on her IG a screen shot from The Daily Mail. It has a picture of Candace Bushnell (sex and the city), with the caption “Sex and the City writer Candace Bushnell, 60, admits she regrets choosing a career over having children as she is now ‘truly alone’”

Reading the article, she actually says about starting a family: “When I was in my 30’s and 40’s, I didn’t think about it. Then when I got divorced and I was in my fifties, I started to see the impact of not having children and of truly being alone. I do see that people with children have an anchor in a way that people who have no kids don’t”.

Sure, you could interpret it that way. But it could also be a mischaracterization. I certainly wouldn’t use such an article to prove my point, but Lori has admitted that she didn’t learn anything in school, and she’s clearly not blessed with critical thinking skills, so...

I know a couple women (single, with interesting careers) that at age 50 regretted not having had children, because their loneliness. But others regret the opposite (having such difficult children that wished having been childfree). Opinions or personal experiences can't be general statements.

And Candace Bushnell may feel alone, but I'm sure she's 1000 times happier than Lori and has always been.

Having kids so you won’t be lonely when your older is a very bad reason to have kids. I’ve been told by my bf’s parents that that’s why we need to have kids. Neither of us wants kids. Honestly if I ever changed my mind, say in my 50’s, I could always adopt, foster, or volunteer my time with kids. I have cousins and will eventually have more nieces and nephews.

You can have all the kids you want, but that doesn't guarantee they'll be around you when they're grown.  My brother and I live on the opposite coast from our parents so it's not like we're keeping them company regularly.  And I love my parents.  Imagine if your aren't close with your children.  No alleviation of loneliness there.

As ever, Lori really strikes me as the kind of parent who only had children for the security she thought it would give her -- keeping Ken as her cash cow, getting to quit her job with the second pregnancy, and expecting them to support and help her.

Of course she'd gloat at the (mistaken) idea that someone famous regretted not having children.

Or this one...

The comments are just as disturbing as the articles.

I'm late to the party again, but am I the only one who went to that top link for a read and couldn't stop giggling? If you take it seriously, it's pretty disturbing. But for sheer entertainment value, it was really funny. Maybe I'm biased because I write naughty books which include plenty of all kinds of sex, but honestly, there is no way those people can be serious. Surely they can't be.

And I just went and read that blog again. This time, it's actually really disturbing. Reading it a second time, I get the impression that those "men" actually believe the bullshit they spout. I get the impression they actually believe that Songs of Solomon is describing oral sex. If that blog post and those comments are actually serious, that is really, really scary.

Not only is it a bad reason to have kids, it doesn't guarantee you won't be alone in old age. Things happen.

So you're telling me that during all of those astrodynamics classes I took to earn my aerospace engineering degree that the ONLY thing I was learning was feminism?  Damn, I should as for my tuition payments back!  Who knew that physics = feminism?

I’ve probably mentioned this before, but my college education helped me learn how to become a good mother. Developmental psychology taught me about what to expect from my child as she grew and learned. Lori studied to be a teacher, and I’d be astounded if she didn’t take that very course herself.

And her attitude about her college education is a direct insult to her parents, who made the financial sacrifices to provide it for her.

Lori herself paid for her children's college, including one of her daughters. So she insults herself, too.

She insults mothers who don't homeschool, while she has at least 1 grandkid at a regular preschool.

She insults *inmodest* women while one daughter wears tight dancing clothes and the other daughter's wedding gown was backless.

Lori has 2 personalities. One is the internet hateful superfundamentalist. The other is a hateful middle class woman that despite her preachings, wants her children to have good jobs, nice clothes and (I'm sure) small families.

Right!  How can she possibly reconcile her daughters going to college will all of the ridiculous nonsense that she posts???  If fact, she rarely mentions details about any of her children because they are in direct opposition with her online ministry (aka, attention grab).  It's bizarre.

I'm just going to leave this gem of a comment right here for everyone's enjoyment. It's been up for a day; I'm guessing Lori either hasn't seen it, or the snark flew far, far over her head:

Quote

This is why God made essential oils and Plexus, y’all! You can be a stay at home mom and sit at home on Facebook for 8 hours a day, sending private messages to people you haven’t talked to in 10 years, selling supplements! Who needs college?

College isn’t for everyone but learning is. I wasn’t indoctrinated into anything when I went to college. My moms rule for my brothers and I to live at home after high school was to be working and in school. She made an exception for my younger brother because he struggled his first semester of college. My older brother never got an associates degree, two classes away. She needed us to be responsible while living at home. I had been working since I was 12, babysitting, then bread co, when I was 16. If I had asked to be a stay at home daughter my mom would have laughed at me. She was working two jobs at the time because my dad literally couldn’t work, sometimes couldn’t walk.

My moms part time job she had while my brothers and I were growing up gave her skills, sales and customer experience, which she used to find a job because that was “God’s” way of providing.

I feel like there is a lot more to the above story. If her sister is having mental health issues like she says someone has to be taking care of her. I guess I could be wrong but I’m pretty sure the mom would make sure she is taken care of unless she doesn’t know.

Re: Lori's recycled IG, FB and Twitter post about women's bodies:  "But look at your bodies!  You have breasts, ovaries, wombs, monthly periods, eggs and are full of estrogen and progesterone..."

I don't know about any of you, but every time Lori reposts this, it makes me queasy.  It's like she gets off /turned on talking about women's bodies. It seems creepy even though on face value she's trying to make it seem simple about the different biology of men vs. women's body. The same way when she was talking about breast implants and other women's "hard breasts."

So strange this one.

Could be, especially combined with her talking about spanking women's almost naked thong-wearing bottoms.  If Lori is suppressing lesbian urges that might explain a lot.  I'm not going to assume necessarily that she is, but...well, it wouldn't surprise me either.

Thank you. I'm so f*cking sick of the mentality that because college is not for everyone; it's unnecessary for everyone. The anti-intellectualism in this country is devolving to a point where it is dangerous.  Stupid politicians are the best and educated ones who understand policy are bad. Going to college is evil for everyone. Higher math shouldn't be taught in our secondary schools, only personal finance (if I see that one on social media one more time...hey, morons, guess who needs higher math skills? The code writers and programmers who created and maintain the internet you are spreading this nonsense on). And it goes on and on and on.

I taught high school for 16 years full time and have worked in education in some capacity for nearly 25 years. College definitely is not for everyone. I had students who absolutely did not excel or care about traditional academics and have found their niches as auto mechanics, firefighters and a host of other trades and fields that didn't require a bachelor's degree or more. But I also had students who were academically inclined and some went to school beyond a bachelors and are physical therapists, nurses, human resource specialists, school psychologists, lawyers, etc... And we NEED those people just as much as we need mechanics.

So my question is this: which female in Lori’s circle is pursuing higher education?  Or is she deliberately beating the higher ed posts to a pulp because it gives her attention? I certainly think that’s why she is posting so much on Twitter now.

Lori, Jesus never said women serving is the greatest of all. She said everyone serving. Jesus, a man the son of god, served everyone. Washed men’s feet. We are all called to serve. Most women have no problem serving their husbands if they in turn serve them. My mom served the kids and sometimes my dad. My dad served the kids and my mom. My grandma was always served because she couldn’t serve herself. B5588FB9-DC4F-4355-BB81-26A14A129453.thumb.jpeg.ced4c1cce44941d278f77bd689a4a602.jpeg

On being pretend Jewish, my aunt and uncle went on this tangent where they (as Protestant Anglo as they come) observed Jewish traditions.  We met for breakfast at Cracker Barrel.  We ordered ham, bacon and sausage.  They missed out on the good food because of their pretend religious observations.

I need to do a search for Deanna Tullison, MSN (hurl).  Based on the intelligence of her posts, I would never be her patient. ETA:  Found her LinkedIn profile.  University of Phoenix.  As a former faculty member, I should have predicted this.  It looks like she has never worked bedside nursing, which is fine, but she just comes across as obnoxious.
