I was worried about the same thing, but I’m really enjoying it! Neil Gaiman was involved in the production, which I think helps. 

Of course, I haven’t watched any of the American Gods series for the same reason.

Reminds me how butt hurt all the fundies got about The Book of Daniel tv series. Personally I thought it over the top but it did show clergy as flawed human beings.
