So close. 6th June and Coralee. I am ashamed I guessed the name.

I had HOPED for Cora because I love the name. However I assumed it would be something close to another child’s name because that’s what she normally does! Her last two children had names very similar to another child so I figured she would continue with that trend. I pleasantly surprised with Coralee. I wonder if she read FJ and saw how much we criticized her similar names. I’ll be glad if she tries to use dissimilar names in the future. Names like Clara, Charlotte, and Carlie.

She's a cute baby, and she is one ounce less than my daughter weighed, one inch longer.  I'm glad she's healthy.  I do like her name.

Coralee and then Carlie would mean she was up to her old tricks again!

I love the name Clara. Always have.

Clara would be lovely. I expect Charlotte doesn’t fit her “rules” (the ch sound rather than a hard c). Caroline?

I’m glad baby Coralee is here safe and healthy. 10 is a nice even number, she might be able to keep track of their names and maybe even notice one or two personality traits. #10under10 sounds better than #11under11. Good place to stop, right?

... right?

True those are kind of close. Maybe Carlin or Carla. It’s too bad she only does one syllable names for the boys. There are many C names for boys she could use. Charles, Carson, Carter, Christian.

I think we should rename them. What is there, 6 boys and 4 girls? All with a C?

I think the next boy (because of course there is going to be more....why stop now) should be:....

Chad, Curt or Cass.

Not sure if any of them are western inspired names as I'm British. But Cass is becoming more popular here due to a footballer naming his son this.

I’ve only seen “Cass” as a female name(short for Cassie/Cassandra).

Ah, #10. So sweet to number your children. I mean, what if someone thought that newborn was her first or something??? #somanypreciousflowers

But how are they going to know how special you are if you don't number them? /s

It really is her identity. It makes her special. Just like Michelle and Kelly. They weren’t “special” or known for anything before they started pumping out babies every year. Since they are fundie it’s one of the few acceptable ways to be set apart amongst the group. They aren’t set apart by their singing, sewing, or cooking. So it’s babymaking.

That was fun @Smee! Well more fun that the laundry that’s waiting for me. I have 4 in my family. Toilet training Miss 25 months. I can’t imagine the laundry of 8 more kids! I miss a day and I’m swamped. I can see how Michelle’s breakdown happened in the laundry.

I like the game! Though I love (and prefer) quite a lot of other names, I tried to stick with names that had the hard "C".

Clairvaux

Calliope

Corrine

Camille

Casper

Connor

Carmine

Crispin

Clement

And lastly, my favorite child Cadfael, named for the eponymous monk in Ellis Peters' book series. Those books remind me of my life before having #10under10, when I had time to read.

Surprising that they don't have a Cole yet. The "rule" for boy names seems to be monosyllabic with a hard C sound. They are either going to run out or end up with some poor kid named Cart or something.

I'm really surprised at the lack of a Clyde, too. Cort/Cord, Cleve, Cross, and Curt are solid options that don't sound exactly like another kid's name. Cort/Cord may sound too much like Courtney's name, especially if her husband calls her "Court" around the house. But Courtney Isn't afraid to recycle kid names and similar sounds to a truly astonishing degree, so I'm pretty surprised we haven't seen a Cal, Cass, or Cole yet.

Back when I first heard of Courtney, She'd just delivered the twins. Up to that point, most of the kids' names were about as dissimilar as they could be within the naming "rules" they seemed to follow. But she elected to name one of the twins "Case", which seemed to step pretty hard on the heels of older brother Cade. THEN she had her second daughter, and basically recycled the first daughter's name, plus a syllable. I never thought it could get worse Callie and Calena, but then the Cade/Caydie match up came along, and I was humbled.

It's not just that she recycles names... it's that the kids are so close together in age and abilities, it's a perfect recipe for confusion in the home. If you have a 12 yr old Cade and a newborn Case, fine. It's pretty unlikely that they would be engaged in the same behavior, activity, or task at the same time, and they'd know simply by context which of them you meant when calling for (or referring to) one or the other.

Ok  all the names I could come up with for her that fit her rules (hard C name with 1 syllable) in the order of likeliness:
Cole, Clyde, Carl, Cael, Cal, Curt, Coy, Cain, Cobb, Cleve, Craig, Crew, Creed, Cruz and Claus.

Courtney mentioned in a post that she does school year round. I’m honestly surprised more of these quiverfull families don’t do that as well. It would take a lot of pressure off if you had 12 months to cover a 9-10 month curriculum. Allows for a lot more flexibility in how much time you spend on school each day/taking off for vacations or babies.

I’m always surprised Zoo doesn’t do it that way. Summer is pretty hellacious in AZ so her kids likely don’t get a lot of outdoor time unless it’s early or late in the day. Of course this summer is full of schooling because Zoo couldn’t homeschool in a different house during their renovation.

I love baseball but I'm dreading the new season because the White Sox ownership is THE FUCKING WORST. I watched Dominican League Baseball (Lidom!) over the winter and fell in love with their joy, spirit, and exuberance. The broadcasts were in Spanish and my Spanish is pretty weak but I loved catching phrases and repeating them. Bombe! I'm sad about MLB and Commissioner Idiota's busywork rules. But I love baseball, always and forever.
I guess I don't have a point. Just bitching. Te amo mucho, Lidom!

      Happy International Women's Day!

Humanity may have some work to do, to improve gender equality, but I was glad to hear that France has taken an important step to protect healthcare for women (and people of other genders who can get pregnant).

Feeling ragey this morning. I have a doctor's appointment this afternoon in the hope of getting help for an ongoing injury. I went to a (different!!) doctor late last year who completely blew me off. He wouldn't do diagnostic testin, he refused to send me to a specialist, and he just told me to "take it easy" and "take ibuprofen." I'm hopeful for today's appointment but I'm also feeling a SEVERE amount of rage at that doctor from last year!

Well, the rash is back with a vengeance. It never completely cleared up. I saw the derm yesterday and they did another swab and yup, raging infection again, still? It is definitely strep skin infection. I am getting so damn tired and run down from this. Who the f would immagine being hospitalized freaking TWICE for a rash?

My niece is going to be a seat filler at this year's Academy Awards.  Seat fillers are asked to wear tuxedos regardless of sex/gender.  If you see a pretty young woman with very curly hair, it could be my niece.
