The adventures of Beansie

I can't believe how fast you guys move in these JRod threads! I felt proud of myself for getting to #35 but.... whoa!

Anyway, the more I read about Jill, the more convinced I am that my life would have been like these little Rodrigues kids if:

1. My family were fundamentalist Christians (thankfully we are just run-of-the-mill Christians)

2. We had social media when I was a kid

3. My parents had a dozen kids instead of a few

My mom has two serious mental health conditions. She is wonderful and loving but there was also some sad and difficult (my therapist has said "traumatic") stuff to deal with as I grew up. I am curious what everyone's thoughts are on Jill/David's motivation for.... all of this.

Poor Beansie, in boobs, a chapel, Mt Rushmore, many hotels (with after parties LOL) ... and now a topiary.  I had to Scotch tape him back together.  He had a rough week.

I've been super busy and not able to keep up with much lately (though I have stolen a few minutes here and there to post a little), but I am really loving all the Beansie photos! I love seeing his travels. I've not forgotten him, I've just had no time to work on him at all. Soon...

And is that the chapel the Rods took over?

The very one!   Beansie is hot on the JRod trail!

It is a very small chapel in the middle of a very touristy mall area.   If the Rods went in and started singing/screeching, people would have left the building.

My Beansie is finally done. Not glitter like I originally wanted but finally in color. And just in time to run a 5 mile race tomorrow!

I also shrunk Beansie so she can enjoy book club with me. 15622057810222883695998544369797.thumb.jpg.c30d30cc429eeadbb2fdeb719f783b27.jpg

Looks like our little demon has moved on from green beans to bread.  My husband cut his hand trying to open a can of bread6ACDD3F6-3742-4672-9E20-5086957F1782.thumb.jpeg.20e90d0f49e9e3986d150309f7aac0e5.jpeg

Canned Bread? This is a thing?  I've never in my life heard of this.  What does it taste like? So many questions. ..

I’ve only tried it a few times and didn’t really like it. This kind is like a real sweet molasses raisin muffin.

We used to slice that bread and spread cream cheese sweetened with a little bit of frozen lemonade concentrate over it.  It was really good, but I haven't seen anybody serve it in a lot of years.

The place I've ever seen canned bread in the grocery is the international foods section at Giant.

@PreciousPantsofDoom, canned brown bread is a New England thing. Traditionally, it was served with Boston baked beans, maybe with Indian pudding (made from boiled cornmeal and molasses) for dessert. In the dead of winter, the Yankees of the past had to make the most of their non-perishable goods in devising meals.

I've picked it up at a food pantry. It's not terrible, but I wouldn't buy it.

Some Giants have it some don’t. This is my husband’s thing. He wants he buys it. I’m not a fan

I think you can get anything in a can. They even have canned cheese burgers.
