Not quite the same experience as you but I wanted to say I get it and although I was able to breastfeed, I had to supplement with formula.  I also tried pretty much everything (consultants, pumping, fenugreek, lots of liquids, using formula with an SNS ... the only thing we didn't do in retrospect was get the kids evaluated by a tongue -tie specialist, but none of them have had issues going forward so if they did all have one it was pretty minor).  When I pumped, even when my daughter was off at daycare and hadn't nursed for a couple of hours, I'd never get more than 2 or 3 oz.  So a bit more than you but not enough to rely solely on breastmilk.   I'd had the 'ultra-crunchy' birth class, was surrounded by pro-breastfeeding people, my own mom breastfed us back before it was popular again, etc so I was getting all of the messages of 'everyone can do this' and 'don't give your baby formula or your supply will tank' and they were just wrong.

Yep. And then you have people like me who likely could physically breastfeed, but couldn’t due to the mental and emotional toll it can take. Or people also like me who have to supplement or use formula because their child has a medical issue, like my daughter who was on high calorie preemie formula for six months to help chunk her up.

Breastfeeding can be a really beautiful way to bond with your baby, but I’m glad formula is a relatively safe option for those of us with reliable access to safe water.

I love boobease! I nursed for 17 months with my son. I was one of the lucky ones I never had any issues and he took to it very well. It worked for us but I hate how much pressure they put on you now. I had a very rough delivery and I told the nurses to take him to the nursery and only wake me up to nurse every other feed and you  would've thought I told them to feed him rat poison! They made the biggest deal about it and made me feel so guilty.

@Audrey2 my friend's daughter was born on 11/24 (Thanksgiving). My nephew was also born on Thanksgiving, 11/25 (less rare). My parents are 11/15 and 11/22. There's already a Duggar with an 11/15 birthday. One of them is bound to share a b'day with someone I know.

It's an awesome day to be born! I was born on the exact day D.B. Cooper made his jump.

I think they had some sort of Love you day party. I remember them posting about it.

Hmmm...did they serve oysters?

Just wanna take a minute to point out that not every one can breast feed. I can’t. I just don’t make enough breast milk and trust me yes I tried everything. My boobs barely acknowledge it when I’m pregnant and don’t grow at all. The most breast milk I’ve ever produced is an ounce. When I have a baby, I have my period back almost instantly.

I had the same experience. My breasts did not change during pregnancy at all. Tried so hard to breastfeed my 1st. Saw a lactation consultant, tried all the tricks and tips, never produced more than 1/2 ounce at a time. Didn't even bother trying with my second. Got my period back 5 weeks post C Section with her.

Nope. Sorry. No spawn of Josh Duggar is allowed to be born on my rare birthday (24th).

[By rare birthday, I mean about two years ago in the Priscilla and David Waller thread, someone posted a link to a site that ranks birthdays from most common to least common. My birthday, November 24th, with the 11th rarest birthday. I would have to deal with sharing a fundie birthday if I had a more common one, but when your birthday is in the bottom fifteen, you don't want to share! I have only met one person IRL who shares my birthday, and one on Free Jinger.]

Here is a link, just because I think it is so interesting.

http://thedailyviz.com/2016/09/17/how-common-is-your-birthday-dailyviz/

Mine (11/13) is ranked 320, so pretty rare too.. and 2 of them are super close to it!! eek.

They are building a house while gestating a baby. That is all, you are up-to-date, carry on.

They really do need to find a hobby or something. Joy and Austin while not my favorite I do enjoy watching him remodel houses. And if Jill and derek were still on following him through law school might be interesting.

I feel like all of the married Duggar kids who aren’t using social media a ton are missing out on a huge branding opportunity. For instance Kendra could have a big following of conservative Christian young people if she tried— she is photogenic and bubbly. SOTDRT is probably holding them back from being successful bloggers I guess. Jinger and Jessa post a lot on Instagram, but if I were them I’d be making a lifestyle blog or something too.

At least Jill is trying with her blog. Some of it is cringe worthy but her target market (other super religious people) seems to enjoy it. And hey, she’s actually writing content, even if it sheds light on sex with Wreck. That’s more than we can say about the others (no, Jeremy, this “This is Laredo” Instagram series you airdropped to Jinger doesn’t count).

Sounds like a great of work. I think these people believe that they are reallllllly busy by partaking in the show, and they realllllllly do not need to do anything more. Frankly, they give off a sense of entitlement, IMO. The concept of being humble and modest in all things is long gone.

My son was born 11/27 (Thanksgiving day the year he was born) 360th most popular, DD is 2/18 246th most popular.  I on the other hand was born on 8/30, the 34th most popular day.

From my ground of friends/family I would have thought April was the most popular month.  I know 6 people born April 4th alone. and I can think of 5 others off the top of my head born throughout April. and that is at #144. I only know 1 other person with my birthday and it is supposed a very popular day

Joy was hocking some facial scrubber on her story yesterday.  She didn't do a horrible job but you can tell just how limited her vocabulary is, and she sounds like a silly little girl playing in her moms bathroom, with "grown up" facial care products. She seems to have a good lock on the young fundy set, she looks and acts much younger than Lauren, despite being around 2 years older than her. Joy's more carefree attitude is very striking when next to Lauren's very stern and serious nature.

I took a completely different view on that. I've always felt like Kendra is photogenic and bubbly but kind of got the impression that she wasn't 100% comfortable with the cameras. Not that she's inherently awful on camera just that it's maybe not her favorite place to be. For someone who wasn't raised on TV it could be a huge adjustment. She genuinely might not want a big social media presence (Joe has also seemed more on the quieter side) and they may have decided that staying on the show was enough sharing.

If that's the case (which it very well might not be) I feel like I can't fault them for it. In fact kudos to Kendra if she had the self awareness to recognize that blogging etc isn't a natural fit for her and not trying to fit herself into it to be more like her sister in laws.

I feel Kendra just wants to be the best Godly Mommy and Wife possible. She is not stupid but simply a Sweet rather uncomplicated girl who’s been taken good care of all her life and never had a reason to question a thing. God gave her a kind husband who is well off because of his family, God gave her healthy pregnancies and babies so far. She is was trained to think this is the perfect life for a Christian Woman.

I tend to agree. I don't think Kendra wants anything more than to pop out babies and live a quite little life with Joe. I think she's okay with the show but she's not interested in it other than she married into it. Which I do respect more than some of the in laws who I feel like rushed into things to get on tv. At least she really seems to be doing what she wants even if we would all like more for her. She is one of the few fundie women who I think would've gone the same way even if raised more conventionally. Michaela bates is another one.

After watching the new season finally and watch Kendra be a mom she really does seem to enjoy it. She just looks so young with her baby face I have to remind my self that she's the mom. I just go back and forth with her but she's getting less grating to me. At first I couldn't stand all the giggles

Kendra definitely comes across to me as someone who would have wanted to have gotten married and had children young, even if she wasn't fundie. She may have been a couple of years older and went to college first but Kendra and Joe both seem happy with their life. I do hope for all their sakes they slow down a bit after they have the second baby.

My birthday ,8/1 is 37th.My oldest son,Spurgeon, was born on his birthday,11/5..his ranked next, then my middle son on 4/26,then my youngest son,5/18,last was Mr melon on 3/9.

We went out to eat on my birthday, and a lot of people ,besides me,were getting a cake and having the staff sing Happy Birthday,to them.

And also one occasion when we went out for my son's birthday on 4/26.

Kendra strikes me as someone who has never really questioned anything in her life, she just goes along with whatever people around her tell her. I bet the thought that her "daddy" could be wrong about anything has never even occured to her.

She has never had a reason to Question anything. She has apparently never wanted for material goods or affection from her family and now she has a Godly financially secure husband plus an adorable healthy son and another baby on the way.

Your son is Spurgeon? I'd only heard of it with Jessa and Ben, besides the famous one, of course. My youngest son has a simple but fairly uncommon name, sometimes a surname but more often a given name.

I'm guessing that @melon means that her son and Spurgeon have the same birthday, which is November 5th.
