It was hard to get divorced unless you could prove abuse.

And abuse could be difficult to prove. If a woman called the police because her husband was hitting her, standard procedure was to arrest both husband and wife. The woman could have her say in court. And while she waited the children would sometimes be removed from the home and placed with family members if she was lucky, state care if she wasn't. When and if it did go to court, he man often received a slap on the wrist if anything at all. Obviously many battered women didn't have much incentive to report.

My therapist helped write some of the first laws in CA that protected battered women. She also went on to hold training seminars for police officers and first responders to learn the new procedures. She told me that it took a long time to teach some of those (male) officers to see that battered women were victims.

here in NV, they still arrest both parties. Seriously fucked up. Dealing w/the police about DV is horrible. Fortunately, in my case, he got busted for tearing up the house and being drunk as fuck outside.

I'm not trying to say that women are 100% blameless in DV situations (I know of men in DV situations) but cops need better training and judges/attorneys also need better training.

Today is one of the most revered days in Christianity, and she spends her blog time allowing men to call women "trash" and to castigate those who disagree with her.  She has no idea of what real Christianity is.  She probably won't go to church on Easter because she might be offended by someone's clothes that don't meet her high moral standards of godliness.

Most of the fundies we follow here wouldn't know Jesus if He stood in front of them. Think about it. A middle-eastern man claiming to be the Son of God? Oh hell no...He's not their sanitized, powerless, blonde/blue, republican savior. Hell, just the middle-eastern thing would send them into orbit.

There's a great article, I think on Patheos about the tiny, weak, republican god. That deity is not worth my time.

I can't quote chapter and verse but I do believe there's something where Jesus says that he's going to tell some of his so-called followers "get away from me, I never knew you"...I have my own opinions on who is going to hear that and well...some folks may be right surprised

@feministxtian it’s Matthew 7: 21 “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. 22 Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ 23 And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’

here is an interesting article about what the verse means: https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.gotquestions.org/amp/I-never-knew-you-depart-from-me.html

The article is interesting and just seems to confirm what I've felt...those who claim to be Christians but act in ways opposite to what Christ requires will be the ones turned away...not those of us who may not be "Jesus freaks" but who try to live out what we believe every day.

Matthew 25:35-40 King James Version (KJV)

35 For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in:

36 Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me.

37 Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink?

38 When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee?

39 Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee?

40 And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.

so what has Lori done unto the least of these? She shamed women for working outside of the home to take care of their families. Tells women with sick husbands they can’t work outside of the home. Shamed women who don’t home school. She doesn’t donate her time or money, she doesn’t even tithe.

With Lori's obsession with feminism, she really missed out on the opportunity to talk about the Gospel because this time is a good time to do it. Well, every time is a good time. You know what I mean.

Has she actually ever shared the Gospel? I mean like shared it without tearing someone down. I don't think I recall a time when she truly shared it in the few years I've been reading her writings. But I'm really shocked that she didn't write a Good Friday post. Well Lori, Jesus loves this trash feminist.

I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend this holiday no matter if you celebrate Easter or not! I'm spending mine with family and intend to eat my fill of good food and worship Jesus.

@Sarah92 I don't think she has. I believe everything that "teaches" is meaningless without helping her followers understand the Gospel. I'm a Christ Follower and I have to be reminded of the Gospel. It is so easy to beat myself  up if you feel like I can never measure up (like after reading Lori's posts). Then, I remember that God provided a way to be with Him through Jesus and that God's grace covers our screw ups. God is gracious and merciful. You know what? I don't see any of that in her posts.

I truly don't think Lori (or Ken) understand the Gospel. They're locked into these extra-biblical and non-biblical opinions that they present as "God's truth" when honestly, what they babble on about has nothing to do with the Gospel whatsoever. Neither one has even a rudimentary understanding of what love is, nor do they have any idea what it's like to love people just because they're people. They're hung up on this legalistic, rules-based bullshit rather than opening themselves up to love, community, friendship and sharing life with other believers. I seriously doubt they belong to any sort of church fellowship because good ol' Lori would talk shit about everyone and everything, from the clothes people wear to the music played. I almost feel sorry for both of them, but then again, maybe it's best to leave them to their legalistic bullshit than try to engage them on any level.

Lori has stated she doesn't teach the Gospel of Christ. I quoted her saying that on a previous thread. Paul supersedes Christ in her doctrine.

No she hasn't. I don't think she is even acquainted with it. She is nasty and hateful and delights in the suffering of others.

Her leg humpers aren't much better. Alex H. tonight mocked a woman, who was questioning Lori's anti-vaxx stupidity, morbidly obese and then told people to check her out because she was a lesbian. Alex is one of Lori's white nationalist fan boys who is hiding in an oh so manly way, behind a fake profile.

Lori and Ken, you are responsible for the comments on TTW. If I was considering Christianity and came across TTW, I'd reject it outright because of your hate.

Guys who pull the “you must be a lesbian” card or “you must have voted for killery” do that because they can’t prove their point.

Lori is defending her anti-vaxx post from yesterday in today's blog post. She went out and got sources, y'all.

I kinda like this Bryce Renfro:

Quote

I don't even know where to start, so I'll just do it by saying that kinda sounds like manufactured paranoia.

Developed countries have fewer measles issues with some claiming eradication. That comes with the territory. Eradication is the endgame of vaccinations. Even with the US claim of eradication, there were 17 outbreaks here last year and there have already been 82 confirmed cases of infection this year.

Why do Lori and her leghumpers not get this? Of COURSE there are going to be very few cases, generally speaking. That's because the vaccine is doing its JOB!

Bryce continues:

Quote

Next issue I have regards the exclusion of the global scale. How can you not acknowledge that? It still infects and kills. All the time. That stinks of unfounded American exceptionalism that we're loved the world over for - an implied superiority over the rest of the world (but of course we would never explicitly acknowledge it). There's the strong aroma of arrogance there too. If one, inherently and automatically, has less respect for one human over another based on that, one might want to revisit their moral philosophy and really reflect on what it is to be human.

Yeah, that's Lori. If you're not an American first and foremost, and of a certain type of American at that--politically, ethnically, 'religiously,' and economically--you don't count. She doesn't  care if you get the measles and die. She. Does. Not. Care.

I haven't looked at her page yet this morning, but the two posts above say it all.  Her supporters are one who lives from pillar to post with her tribe of children because of her jailbird husband, and the other is a lying, hypocritical, sexist, egotistical, bigot.  Nice fan club.  More like the ship of fools.  A man saying women have a demonic agenda.  Ha!  The first murder was committed by a man because he was jealous of his brother.  KB needs to go preach to some men and keep his flapping gums shut regarding women.

The parentals slept in the same bed for 57 years until my dad died.  They actually slept in about half of their king sized bed.  They bickered endlessly, but didn't leave each other's side.  Lori and Ken know nothing about that kind of relationship.

The last four nights my father spent in their own house, my mother slept on a love seat to be near him all night.

My parents defined "in sickness and in health" in the last three years of their marriage when dad had cancer.

Lori would probably have to leave for vacation if Ken were that sick.

I assume they may be Dispensationalists, at least to some degree. That theology often teaches that the epistles, mostly Paul, set out the doctrine for the "church age", not the Gospels and not Jesus.

They may be Dispensationalists, but I'm not sure they've put that much thought into it.  Lori found a verse that suited her argument for staying home and not working, and ran with it like an Olympic runner. Except she ran right over the edge of the cliff, onto the rocks.   She ignores 95% of Paul's teachings and hangs on to a few out-of-context verses., over and over again.
