That way no one misses any dirt! Happy digging!

Nick Carter. Kevin something. Can’t remember the other ones. Nick Carter had a little brother named Aaron whom my friend was obsessed with. #onlylate80skidsremember ?

It’s funny Jeremy’s apparently obsessed with BSB now as he probably would have been considered super uncool/lame for being into them at the height of their popularity when he was a preteen.

my 19 year old DD doesn't know any Backstreet Boys, she MIGHT know they are a boy band, but that is it.

As for Austin, oh yeah, he's not playing TLCs games, I guess his refusal to do stupid shit, just to be on TV is why they aren't featured much on CO.  I like that.

I really liked Brian.

Now looking back, definitely Kevin (minus the earring)

'89 baby here. I remember Nick, Kevin, Brian, and Howie. Can't remember the 5th one. I can tell you the full government names of every member of NSYNC though. They were better anyway. ?

Born in 1983. Huge NSYNC fan/Anti BSB, went to two of their concerts, I was in my late teens at the height of the boyband craze (1999/2000).

Yes! NSYNC for life. JC, Lance, Joey, Chris and Justin were my boys.

I may or may not have had an AIM screen name that included something about Howie from the BSB. I'm a 1987 baby, though, so the timing is perfect for me. :)

I'm only 1/2 way through the 2nd episode but I have a lot of the same thoughts as above.  They've definitely gone full circle and are trying to making this 19KAC again, only with all the married kidults.  And the whole discussion between Jinger and M about the pants killed me.  She was a grown ass woman crying over the fact that M is such a wonderful accepting mom that she accepts her for wearing pants.  And M's sweet murmurings over how proud she is of her kids for walking with the Lord gave me the treacly eye rolls.  They treated the whole wearing pants thing with the sort of gravity and explanation that I would attribute to a conservative family discussing their child coming out or becoming a porn star.  And JB and M are back to doing talking heads.  JD also skeeves me out.  He and Abbie are in the phase of fundie marriages where they think they have everything figured out and can tell other people how to be married.  Whatever.  Let's check back in a couple of kids from now and see how y'all are doing.  Especially when Abbie starts sweating the lack of a regular paycheck more.  I don't care that you are used to that JD, she had a job with a nice steady paycheck and most likely benefits and has to toss it all away to smile at you, be ever available and deal with times of poor cash flow.  If one of y'all has a medical emergency and she has to watch you make health care decisions based on monetary reasons I don't think that will sit well with her.  Especially if she knows better as a nurse.  And he's definitely a sex pest.  They didn't want to travel for 24 hrs right after getting married so they waited 3 months?  Eww.  I definitely understand the new fundie honeymoon of going somewhere local for a few days and then traveling farther away but I've been to Finland.  It's not a short flight but they aren't going to Australia.  They can go the 16 hrs of travelling (I included waiting at the airport, possible changing flights and then getting to the hotel after they land).  Gross.

Wonder if they’ll be the next couple to walk away? Or get eliminated? Maybe CO is morphing into Survivor?

I respect BSB for “staying together” all these years but let’s not pretend Nick’s solo career never happening isn’t a big reason why.

And I don’t care what people say, *NSYNC was superior in every way that matters, I don’t make the rules??‍♀️

Shape of my heart is a jam though.

I love the Backstreet Boys, been to three concerts and I'm going to another one in March. I'm surprised some people don't know them, lol. Maybe they are a bigger deal outside the US.

I like Austin's snarky attitude, you go Austin! Lol

As an 80s baby who still effectively missed the MTV era, I'm definitely familiar with the more popular BSB songs (had one of their CDs and listened to the radio) but never saw their music videos. Wow, is the music video for Everybody different than I ever imagined. Werewolves? Zombies? The phantom of the opera? Uh, 90s? You okay there?

Haha, yeah one of my kids came out recently and the conversation was way less fraught than the Michelle/Jinger pants discussion.  On a related note, it cracked me up that they had to fly Jinger in to talk about pants because local Jill is persona non grata on the show.

I didn't catch the whole episode, but I did see the Jinger/Jeremy hiking part.  The baby is 5 months old and Jeremy had never used a carrier before that scene...!?!

Brian from the Backstreet Boys released a Christian solo album at some point.

I love my boy bands. BSB, NSYNC, Blue, Take That, Westlife, Human Nature, 5ive... I still listen to them all. But I don’t know many of the individual members’ names. Only the ones who try to pull a Robbie Williams and leave the band for a solo career.

I dyed my hair pink when I was 17, right before my last semester of highschool. I had friends who said they were surprised my mom let me do it. That was the first time I had even considered that my mom would have an opinion about my hair color! And I'm from an evangelical Christian family.

The idea of consulting your mom about wearing pants when you are an adult is just bananas.

I don't remember the last time I watched a Duggar tlc episode. They sound boring AF. My husband and I have gotten suckered into Unexpected on TLC because they put it in between two versions of 90 day fiance!

A Duggar TLC episode is about as thrilling as watching paint dry.

I watch Unexpected!

Sorry, Backstreet Boys, Michael Jackson's Thriller video was much cooler. Seems like they tried to borrow the feel of Thriller in places to me.

78 baby and NKOTB all the way.
I saw them as NKOTBSB kind of moved away from pop as BSB moved in but I do still like their music and contemplated going to their new lot of concerts based on liking them last time.

I kept waiting for the episode to tie together the " boy band" to the band of 5 boys driving limos...yeah it never happened.

WTF was the weird campfire chat between the 5 boys?? The TWENTY year old is giving dating advice?? This might be our last time together? Huh?

Jana seems SO over it.

I see you TLC- grasping at straws. This show is deader than dead.☠️ I don't care if Grandma comes back as a ghost, it's over.

It really does seem dead to me. As much as I'd hate it, you'd get far more interesting TV from the Rods.

I was surprised Jeremy admitted to being such a big fan of BSB. Then Jinger was like “I’ve heard of them! (But I don’t know any of them)” ok sure Jan.

Also funny that the only other one who had heard of them was Austin, lolz.
