I'm just gonna say that Lori's leghumper fangirl Maureen Kelley Hefelfinger can get off my internet right now.

She seems to have taken over Lindy's position as Defender of Lori (TM) and is busily telling us all these wonderful  heart warming stories about how she the bestest most submissive wife ever -- and it's the funnest thing in the world to be.

The latest in which she regales us is about throwing away (literally) the 7-course Valentine's Day meal she made for her then boyfriend (not even financee)  now hubby because he announced upon arriving that he'd already eaten a bacon double cheese and curly fries on the way home -- then proceeded to disappear into the bathroom for 30 min.  It's a doozy.

But really it's all about swallowing your hurt, fixing your make-up, slapping a fake smile on your face and going to see some stupid movie with "your man" (direct quote)  Oh and never complain that your dinner was a slurpee and some popcorn

We also learn that she literally garbage disposal-ed the dinner because 'her man' doesn't like leftovers.  Which I guess means she couldn't eat them either.

I think she is. I mentioned in the last thread that I got a definite sarcastic vibe from her tale of romantic dinner woe. It was subtle enough that it will go right over Lori's head.

And then there was this exchange on this afternoon's scribble:

Katrina:

Yeah, I think she's a troll. LOL.

After the comment that some leghumper made about working Jezebels getting a new iPhone every year, I had to pipe up and say my  five year old Moto X died this week, so I bought a Moto G6 for $179, and I'll keep it till it quits just like my 19 year old 2000 Honda.

ETA: The first thing I told the guy helping me was I was looking for a phone $200 or less.

Yes, yes, I do. A real leghumper would have just said I made a gourmet dinner, all the detail is over the top.

Agree that the woman in question who says she tossed the seven course meal is a troll.

Whomever this is has mocked Lori mercilessly, but with such skill...

Love it, actually.

Is Lori sharp enough to figure it out? I think she reads here HI LORI!!!!  and maybe feeling a bit foolish now.

I sure hope that Lori doesn’t figure out the genius level trolling that Maureen has been posting lately. One of my favorites is a comment she posted on yesterday’s doodle about how “what if’s are forbidden by God” ?

Things home-keepers can do from
home to supplement the finances:
-take in laundry
-make candles and soaps to sell on Etsy
-sell ovum to an infertile couple
-weave textiles on a loom and peddle them at a craft faire
-video chat with lonely old men to perk them up
-join the Psychic Friends Network and tell fortunes
-do medical billing at night after you’ve put the kids and your husband to bed
-deliver newspapers before anyone else in the house is awake
-teach online fitness classes for the obese homebound community

-Hunt for lost pets with your children and collect rewards
-Get paid to advertise a Christian business by wrapping your minivan with a sponsored decal

Bravo, Maureen. BRAVO ???

Snipped to show my faves. Careful, Maureen—don’t go too far over the top. Even someone as dumb as Lori might figure you out.

I couldn’t pick a favorite between those and “hunt for lost pets and collect rewards”. But you’re right, don’t want to draw too much attention to her so we can enjoy the ride until it gets deleted and blocked.

The Valentine’s Day post from Maureen sounded real and gave me flashbacks to my days as a member of the Raising Godly Tomatoes message board. There was a particularly vehement member there who sounded a lot like Lori. Her answer was always to give the husband whatever he wants. Some of the women were in miserable situations, but she was unvarying in her instructions. I became the target of her wrath for daring to ask if there was any bridge too far.

Because the woman used her real name, I was able to look her up on FB years later. She was divorced and just as ardent in her activism for feminism and Planned Parenthood as she had been for wifely submission in the past. Some people just need a cause.

It’d technically be ova rather than ovum but I’m a little pedantic. (Unless that’s the point, just one egg).

I thought it seemed somewhat plausible at first, but then I looked back at it and thought it was a little too ridiculous.

I agree that Maureen appears to be a troll but I've met guys who would actually be so callous as to disregard a SO's hard work for preparing a meal without so much as a sorry. (Read the Pearl's honeymoon story for a true horror story)

If I had a husband who didn't want to pick up his towels after I asked, I'd be tempted to just pile all the wet towels on his side of the bed and go sleep on the couch.  I'm not marrying a child and I have no desire to be a mom to a man child.

And here's the thing, many women wouldn't have to "nag"if guys would fulfill their duties as husbands and love their wives enough to listen. Wouldn't it be simple? Listen to wife's request, pick of laundry, not be bothered by repeated requests. Boom! What a novel idea.

I also think there's a sharp difference between repeated requests and nagging. Nagging,to me, often comes with abusive behavior that is never satisfied with anything. Repeated requests are born out of frustration.

She’s joining Alyssa Roberts as “troll most likely to sound like fangirl but Lori is too dense to notice”

Speaking of fangirls, the one that makes me smack my head is Margaret Gordon. She Has to be the most clueless one of the bunch. I was catching up on Lori’s posts, and on the one where Lori is talking about being frugal and living off of one salary, some of the posters were discussing how do you plan for medical expenses. Some of them have children with type one diabetes, and they were discussing huge medical bills due to babies being born prematurely. And this is whAt our good friend Margaret offers as a solution:

Margaret Gordon: “We learned to get glasses super cheap for the whole family by buying online.”

Thank you , Margaret, thank you. That was such useful advice for dealing with a chronically ill child!

Were we aware that Margaret is apparently one of Lori's 'moderators'? A  comment from her on yesterday's loud women post:

That's a repeat of something her buddy Trey wrote for her blog two years ago. She must have been too bored to write something new for today.

But yeah, again with the cognitive dissonance, Lori. Look. In. The. Mirror. :my_dodgy:

She couldn't write her own blog because she's too busy in her balcony room overlooking Bourbon Street looking for sin and wickedness.  She has a pair of binoculars and she's peeking from behind the curtains down to the Street, frantically making notes.  Ken insisted that they go so that he could meet with his orthodontic clients, but really to stare at the women's breasts.

Happy Mardi Gras, Y'all!

My brother is like this. I can't say for sure but I'm almost positive thay his wife is a mail order bride. We met her exactly one time before they married several years ago. He keeps her so isolated that she still barely speaks english. Brother works an hour and a half from home and since getting married he's started to come home later and later, often refusing the dinner that she is obligated to cook. He doesn't apologize for it because he's the man and its her job to have a hot dinner every night whether he wants it or not.

Yeah, she's a fucking idiot.   I'm looking at the comments regarding medical expenses. Several years ago, a fundie couple in Alaska had a son who was born premature. His birth weight was low enough that the family qualified for Medicaid to pay for the medical bills. They refused it and years later the hospital was trying to collect an outstanding 100k medical bill from them. They did online fundraising and met the goal. The couple had some deep connections within Vision Forum because the husband had been worked or interned for Doug Phillips. Doug pushed VF followers to donate to the fund.

I wouldn't be surprised if some of Lori's fangirls turned to online fundraising for medical bills and other related expenses. But, not every online fundraiser is a success.  Chronic illnesses and disabilities never go away and the expenses linger on. Margaret and the other fangirls should volunteer at a rehab hospital or an organization for the disabled. My ex-boyfriend was a volunteer coach for Special Olympics and he has worked with disabled people for years. He was personal care attendant, therapy assistant, and currently as a hospital social worker. His mother was an occupational therapist. They told me tons of stories of disabled people having financial problems. I volunteered with my ex at SO and a couple of other organizations for awhile and I heard some stories from various people.

Oh Margaret....... Margaret Gordon, yeah over here.

Just one teeny tiny question:  Those super cheap glasses you're getting online for the whole family, are they prescription glasses or $15 magnifiers?

I mean it's not exactly cheap or frugal to go to the optometrist for an eye exam and then a 'script, especially since I'm sure you all don't have insurance.  I'm sure the cheap magnifiers do just as well.

[Just in case you all think I'm crazy, my wealthy FIL refused to get prescription glasses, and wore readers instead. Because the scrip glasses were too expensive and the readers worked exactly the same.  Umm ... no. No they didn't.  He could barely see to drive without glasses and the readers made it worse.  He still wore them to drive anyway. Cheapest skinflint I've ever known.  Did not grow up poor either]

Is Lori really in New Orleans?  I thought she hated to travel (except to Door County)?

Oh Lord I'd love to see her reaction to it all.  She must be wearing a blindfold.

and what are you doing Lori? You waste hours a day “researching” and learn nothing.

Lead the way oh great teacher Lori. Start your week with doing the laundry the old fashioned way, with hot water, soap and the scrubbing board to get the dirt out. Modern laundry detergent btw was invented in 1907 with Persil, so got rid of the scrubbing, but still had to do all the rinsing and wringing. That will fill your day out. The next day will be dedicated to ironing with a heavy iron, repeatedly heated on the hot stove. So, 2 days are full without boredom. How about scrubbing all your floors the next day? Using hot water, soap and a brush and being on your hands and knees for that. After the floor is dry, comes the second part, waxing using floor wax and a special, very heavy broom. My grandmother still had such a broom and waxed her floors still into the early 90's. And while doing this, your husband expected a hot meal when coming home, so you also need to do the daily shopping, because no fridge to get your butter cool. But you know what, the housewifes socialised when standing at the baker or butcher to wait to place their orders, shocking isn't it.

@Red Hair, Black Dress I wear glasses since I'm 8 and I like online shopping, but I would never ever buy glasses online no matter how cheap they are. I not only like to try the models on me in the shop, but also the service of an expert to adjust the glasses so that everything fits, since I have astigmastism and want glasses I'm comfortable with.
