Borden just makes me think of axe murderers and Ripton makes me think of ripping farts.

Borden doesn't strike me as the worst, but it makes me think of dairy products, and Elsie the Cow:

To me, the worst is Radon -- it's a dangerous substance. I don't think I'd want to be named after the second-leading cause of lung cancer.

I wonder if Daily and Tuesday were named for something about their conception (ew), but there is a famous Tuesday -- maybe Michelle is a fan:

Daily's full name is Daily Joy, so it doesn't make much sense when they just call her by her first name. Sunshine's is similar, as she is Sunshine Rae. Michelle said in this last video that she's going to make a video just about the kids' names, which'll be...enlightening.

I'm watching today's video. She says that she's kissing Millie's chest a lot in case she loses sensation there because of the incisions for her surgery, so that she'll "remember what that feels like." She's eight days old, she won't remember anything. Michelle also says that she can feel a baby's energy, a la "Dress Your Truth."

Tomorrow's video is going to be about how she makes birth look so easy. So we all have that to look forward to.

It does make more sense with both names (although, it could still refer to when they were TTC ?).

I don’t mind the hippie names. I like some hippie names. But I hate Iron Rod with a passion. It sounds dirty as hell. Like a porn star name.

I think I've found a woman I hate more than Jill Rod. Did she really say that she thought Phil would be nice to her because he was nice to Michelle Knight, someone kidnapped and held captive for years, shows how deluded she is.

Being in your late 40s and expecting is high risk enough to warrant a hospital birth in most cases nevermind having a child with Down's syndrome and holes in their heart.

As for one of her kid's not being able to read until they were 12, no excuse for that. Most home and Unschooler's would have had their child reading years before then and if they had problems learning to read looked into why that was the case. My nephew is 12 and just started high school and a lot of his subjects involve doing a lot of reading and completing homework online, to think that parents were that lazy and neglectful that they allowed their child to not learn to read because he wasn't interested in it is disgraceful, if that had happened at a state school people would be up in arms.

Michelle Knight is a victim that was kidnapped for 15 (?) years and suffered trauma in evil form. Meeechelle #2 thinks she’s a victim and deserves to be praised.

In the video I watched where she said she took the boys to their hair cut, she said that she "wanted them to have the full barber shop experience so they knew how to take care of themselves when they were old enough." A two second Google search lists dozens of old-timey barbershops in Las Vegas. I have no idea what her issue is, other than maybe she wants an excuse to go back and visit friends in their old town?

There's a shit ton of those places here...I can think of 2 w/in a few miles of my house. And, if you're really hard-up and want the shittiest haircut on the planet, just outside Nellis AFB is the place to go...but that's literally the other end of town from me.

Maybe she doesn't want to expose her little darlings to the "decadence" that is a 4 mile strip of LV Blvd (ok, and the "gentlemen's clubs" scattered w/in a couple miles east/west of LV Blvd.

I don't get it...there's LDS meetinghouses all over the damn place here...they're rather annoying. I doubt seriously all the LDS go back to Utah for whatever. St George is about a 90 minute ride from here. SLC is about 6 hours from here...so somewhere roughly 100 miles SW of SLC is where she's going. There is almost NOTHING that could convince me to drive 4 hours one way for a damn haircut. Great Cuts or Sport Clips are like guy's only places but they ain't real cheap. I took #2 son for a haircut when I got mine done at Supercuts (mama was being nice and he did look like a ragmop). I think it was 25 bucks for the both of us, 10 minutes from the house and he's now dating the girl that cut his hair. But we're heathens

Read this and explain to me why a sane individual would have a homebirth with a child diagnosed with two holes in their heart (as it’s also common with a DS diagnosis).

On top of that, she oh-so-casually mentioned she hemorraghed during her last delivery. SMDH.

Wouldn’t this warrant a CPS call? A woman choosing to homebirth her baby with two holes in the heart? The article I linked above was ALARMING. Newborns diagnosed with heart abnormalities along are at a high risk. She knew the baby had two holes in its heart prior to delivery. I also read that newborns with DS tend to have issues with their lungs as well and the heart issues can exacerbate it.  The baby could have died. Why would her Mickey Mouse Midwife go along with it? She is also partly responsible.

Also, being that she is 47 and was birthing her 13th baby (not to mention her last birth involved twins and hemorrhaging), her uterus could have ruptured and she could have died.

In her GET READY WITH ME beauty guru video, I think it was in that video that recall her saying they are meeting with another doctor to “learn more about Down Syndrome”. Really? Yes, they need to meet with the doctor but her statement is telling. She said it as if she has done NO research on Down Syndrome...

I wish that baby could be raised by one of the adult siblings instead because I’m so scared for her. Michelle admitted on Dr. Phil that if the baby had DS, “our home wouldn’t be a good fit because I don’t know how I’ll manage the baby’s needs because we already can’t manage everything around here now.” or something along those lines...

Is anyone else tired of her dramatic, all-caps lock titles that need to mention DS as if that’s baby Millie’s identity? She continues to bring up examples of high-functioning people with DS and how they can go on to do things such a modeling. Is she honestly prepared if baby Millie is not able to do that? Will she still value baby Millie for who she is? She already doesn’t care about the other 12 kids.

We were all scared with JRod when she was pregnant with Janessa and how she’d manage if Janessa needed frequent professional care or how JRod would treat her, seeing how she always refers to Amy as “crippled”...

Although I personally think what Michelle did was breathtakingly, staggeringly stupid, she has the right to make her own medical decisions regarding the delivery. If she then turned around and refused to get Millie care, then it would be neglect. Was it incredibly dangerous? Yes. Does she have the right to choose her healthcare provider and facility, if any? Also yes.  But, again, that’s the bioethics of the situation and not my personal opinion. Here’s a case study of almost the exact scenario that discusses it in greater detail:

I wonder how many more Michelles there are. Bad-homeschooling, neglecting mothers of an excessive amount of children. Michelle#2 may look specially crazy, but I'm pretty sure that, in different ways, all the fundies we discuss here share A LOT with this family.

I admire how Michelle#2 kids are able to speak. To recognise their problems and to talk clear about the neglecting. They know they are victims and they know their upbringing has been awful and wrong. No way Duggars will be able to open their hearts publicy (or even privately) that way. Because all the Michelle and JB energy was used for brainwashing and beating the kids. But I'm sure among the Bates, Duggars, Maxwells, and whatever fundie family with eleventy kids, there has been neglect and depression and extra awful situations.

DS is not exactly the same for everyone. This woman really needs to do her research. Those children/adults with DS who model or are actors are high functioning. They obviously don’t have huge medical issues and were able to function quite well in their jobs but that doesn’t mean every child with DS is just like that. Children with DS have higher rates of childhood cancer. I’m sure Michelle doesn’t know this. What would she do if Millie had cancer? Her other children are already neglected. I really hope this doctor sets her straight on the many extra needs she will face.

My best friend has a DS sister. High funcioning DS people are a minority. Expecting your DS baby to be high funcioning will probably lead to dissapointment and frustration. My friend's sister is *almost* high funcioning and despite that, she needs a tutor and can't cope with some ordinary decisions.

DS kids need extra-effort parenting, many parents with DS kids feel exhausted, especially if there are health issues involved (even though, some DS children are absolutely healthy, my sister's friend is one of them). Even Munck's mother, who was excellent compared with Michelle#2, was unable to care for her DS son and her eldest daughter had to sistemom and homeschool him.

No way Millie is going to have a safe, nice future with that mother. I'm so sorry for her! It's infuriating and extremely sad.

@Melissa1977, so true. Babies and children with Down Syndrome need extra cognitive care and hands-on mental stimulation to encourage their development. There’s a wide range of cognitive and physical functionality in people with DS. Unfortunately, the ones who tend to make the news are the highest-functioning ones, who are the most “conventionally pretty” (and who may have mosaicism rather than conventional DS). They set an unrealistically high bar for all other DS folks and their parents.

This woman seems to be at the intersection of ultra fertility + quiverfull + personality disorder batshit crazy.  Nicole Naugler and JRod are outstanding members of this club for sure, including the worthless husbands and issues with recent babies: a stillborn baby (Nicole) and a special needs baby with serious health issues (JRod).

However, Michelle's awful husband seems to be able to bring in enough income to support the mega brood; do we know what kind of work he does? Is there money coming in from another source?

Also, how many kids are still living at home with Michelle?

I wouldn't put Esther Shrader in this group; although she's ultra fertile + quiverfull + worthless husband, she seems to be a grounded, loving mother.  But then, how would be know? She may be quietly losing her mind, but Bro. John Shrader is so self involved, he would never notice.

I remember how the Munke family has gone all out for their DS  son, Jonathan.  I miss Laura's blog and wonder if she 's  had any more babies.

as for little Millie, I hope that she and her siblings get every scrap of help they do desperately need.

Chantry: the side chapel in a big church, where priests say prayers and Masses for the departed donor's soul.

Yeah. I'd want, as a non Catholic, to  be named after part of a church building.

But RAdon gets my vote for the worst name ever

Sorry, but I don't agree. Laura said she wasn't able to homeschool him and instead of looking for a school or for a special needs tutor, Elizabeth had to be the teacher. She was a teenager! No, this wasn't fair, neither for Jonathan nor for Elizabeth.

In addition, Jonathan was the 5th child. Having more kids implied not having time/energy/resources for Jonathan. How a parent can decide to keep having children when their #5 is special needs? Plus Jonathan is not high funcioning and I recall he had health issues. If their religion was against birth control, there's something called self control!

Muncks looked lovely, but I got the feeling that Laura spent a lot of time working in her business and that the 3 eldest girls ruled the house. The youngest girls seemed to be spoiled and ALL the boys, forgotten.

She has copied JRod's make-up in her video from yesterday. The only product she is missing is the green eyeliner.

I have just started watching it while waiting for her to go LIVE today.

She is letting us know that "Yes, it's true. I FEEL FABULOUS AND I'VE HAD THIRTEEN KIDS."

A fundie from Instagram used her newborn’s Down syndrome diagnosis to push her pro life agenda. Saying that he could have been killed right before he was born if she lived in New York. I haven’t looked at her Instagram since. I was repulsed.

If the Muncks weren't fundie, they might have stopped the baby train after Jonathan.  They might have sought educational and maybe even respite care for him.

I understand that all I know about the family is what they've posted on their blogs.  I never got the vibe that Laura did a Nicole Naugler and let the older girls run the house.  I never thought that the younger girls were spoiled or the boys forgotten.  Maybe I'm just an old dummy.  I firmly believe that Jonathan Munck is better off than Millie Rose or Janessa Rodrigues.

If Michelle's hands were tied together she would be mute!!!  Her hands are never still. She doesn't stop to breathe!!! The sound of her lip smacking is so annoying!!!  Leave your hair alone woman!!! How anyone can sit through a whole video is a mystery!!!

She has not gone live today. Maybe she doesn't go live on Sundays to obey the sabbath commandment that is popular with the LDS.

I didn't realize it but there is a certain reason why YouTubers go live besides viewing the comments immediately. Sometimes, their fans will "donate" AKA immediately send them money that boosts their question to the Youtuber to the top (as well as allows the world to see immediately who donated, how much money they gave, and what questioned they asked). I personally saw a YouTuber make almost a thousand dollars in one "live" video because people sent in obscene amounts of money for the Youtuber to acknowledge them in the live video and answer their question.

My favorite bit of that was when she told us that if we wanted it to last longer, we should get more cans of chili. Like...uh...yes, that would make sense, wouldn't it?

Wait, so it was literal cans of premade chilli?

When onekidanddone said she was just reheating cans, I thought maybe it was chilli like I make it: tinned tomatoes and tinned beans added to chopped onions and ground beef (which is fine for everyday food but doesn't really warrant a cooking video!). But...actual...CANS OF PREMADE CHILLI? And she had this as a standalone "cook chilli" video??

She just dumped a bunch of canned beans together, along with a tin of tomatoes and some cans of premade chili, gave it a stir, and gushed how it was the best thing ever.  If you want to get fancy you can add a can of green chilis. JillD's recipes are more complicated.

ETA: I think there might have been browned ground beef in there, too? Can't remember now.
