Rampant Speculation Based on a Grainy Photo for $500:

Norma Gilligan has a few pics up of Edgar and Rachel's shower this weekend. She posted a pic of "the sisterhood" that includes an odd shot of Campbell standing behind Daisy. Campbell is either arching her back in a really unnecessary and awkward fashion, or she's got a visibly rounded abdomen for other reasons.

Adeline just posted some pics that had me thinking the same thing.

Yup. Her story also makes me suspect about Martha, but that could be a hoodie with a kangaroo pocket. Incidentally, did you notice that they changed Bret's name to Brian?

Bethany Lane's baby is going to be named Camille Alexandria. Pretty name. Maybe they're switching letters every 3 kids?

I did not, just assumed there were so many goddamned kids around that there might as well be one or two named Brian. That's interesting!

I’m not big on changing names but that is one situation where I definitely would. Of course I would talk to my child about it and he would help with coming up with his new name. I wouldn’t just pick it myself.

I read an interesting article in the New York Times  Opinion page article by Vanessa Barbara (https://www.nytimes.com/2019/01/16/opinion/brazil-gender-alves.html?action=click&module=Opinion&pgtype=Homepage) It is about the gender policies in Brazil but it applies to fundies and their babies. Here is a quote I found particularly interesting.

"The Australian comedian Hannah Gadsby, in her show “Nanette,” once joked that one of the ways you can tell that there’s too much hysteria around gender from the “gender-normals” of the world is the habit of putting pink headbands on bald babies. “That’s weird,” the comedian said. “I mean, seriously, would you put a bangle on a potato?”

And yet, strangers in the street find it appropriate to ask why my daughter — who is adorable but, realistically, not un-potato-like at this stage — is not wearing delicate earrings, a ribbon in her hair or a pink tutu. It doesn’t get any better when you dig into the reasoning behind it: As Ms. Gadsby says, parents do it because they are tired of seeing their beautiful baby girl being mistaken for a boy because she has no hair. Why this would be such a bad thing doesn’t have to be explained — it’s understood that it would be a calamity. (“The thing is, I don’t assume bald babies are boys. I assume they’re angry feminists, and I treat them with respect,” Ms. Gadsby jokes.)"

They called him "Lil' Bit Smit" for years, so I would assume that anything else would be a welcome relief.

Anyone remember Abigail from Abigail's Alcove? The super Catholic who was a lay Carmelite, always receiving scorn from random people, sold her full sized fridge, bought a mini fridge, couldn't keep food in the cupboards and rented herself a cello? Claimed her kids all had a 1/4(?) chance of having Cystic Fibrosis, had to have a C-section every time but kept getting pregnant, etc. etc.?

She had another baby at the age of about 40 then went quiet a couple years ago after she apparently started practicing law again. Her new blog was last updated in 2017. I got curious today and checked out her public Facebook page, which was similarly quiet, but that led me to her husband's public page, and OH BOY, looks like she's not done having babies, folks! Apparently they welcomed baby Luke on August 16th, 2018.

Thanks @singsingsing! I totally remember Abigail. Her persecution-martyr complex was something else. I’m glad there’s a nearly four year gap between the last one and this new baby. I wonder if she had any more miscarriages between them?

I'm not sure! I scrolled back through her husband's Facebook just to make sure that there wasn't another baby born somewhere in that four year gap, but it doesn't seem like it. She must be 42 or 43 now, so hopefully this will be her last...

I was thinking parsnips Alice for a moment there. I wonder if she has kept having babies. I can’t remember the name of her blog.

Edit It’s amazing what google will pull up if you type in ‘Alice babies pregnancy parsnips’ ...

It took me straight to her blog (Alice’s baby) and there have been no updates in over 18 months.

I'm glad she went back to work. I hope her husband's job is paying enough, too - being a professor doesn't always pay well.

She's the one that was so obsessed with being pregnant, right?  I know that actually describes quite a few, lol.  But I think she's the one that basically knew everything down to the second she supposedly conceived, etc.  I was thinking of her the other day but I couldn't remember her name.  Apparently, no more babies have happened for her.

Jackson Ramsay seems like a fairly normal, non epistemologically self conscious name.

It does seem normal. Hope this means that Jackson's parents are free of the evil cults their fathers pushed.

His GRANDPAS are tools. Unfortunately this little fella has two granddads that are insanely full of themselves. Not to mention his step-grandma and his biological granny that lives in denial of her real life. Poor little guy.

Was he born in Scotland? Looks like a UK hospital gown. I wonder what they think of evil, socialised medicine?

Definitely born in Scotland, one of the nurses is wearing a top with the Robert Gordon University logo.  So that will be Aberdeenshire area I'm guessing. Hopefully it will have been a positive experience for both of them using the NHS.

Well, chances are that despite its inherently evil nature, the NHS will not leave the young parents drowning in debt or needing to set up a gofundme to pay for Master Jackson's arrival.
