Or on their unmarried kids. Like when they dumped Judson and Jeb to both travel who weren't actually being watched by anyone (I think Trace or Lawson was home but they were asleep) who decided to play with matches in the laundry room. Which most parents would realize that was stupid. Nope, Gil returns home long enough for the "fire" and then to leave again because he just had to join Kelly in Florida with Alyssa. He just had to you know. Or how many teen girls have lived with them for months at time to be helpers and teach their kids so Gil and Kelly could do whatever they want. How exactly is that different from Whitney or Erin hiring a babysitter for their kids? Oh wait because they would be doing that in order so they could work while Gil and Kelly did it to continue to get out of not raising their kids, grifting and doing whatever they wanted.
